Hopefully soucek will be given all clear in GW1, or else I need to forego my 4 Spurs plan 🙁

Sorry to do this - but it is my first RMT of the season (possibly not the last depending on feedback!!!) what are peoples thoughts on this?

    Nyland, Martin
    Bellerin, Chilwell, Robertson, TAA, Doherty
    Auba, Saka, Pulisic, Son, Soucek
    Mitro, Kane, Brewster

would appreciate any feedback, suggestions. i know there's a couple of injuries but i think the squad allows for that/ hopeful they may recover in time.

    Thanks in advance!

i was planning on a 532 or 541, i know pulisic has been hit and miss, but i really think he could be the star amongst that chelsea team.

I think Pulisic will be great too - he's carrying a hamstring injury from the end of last season though, so check on his availability for GW1.

If you're playing 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 then you'll be benching one of Mitrovic or Son. To me that seems like a lot of money to sit on the bench either way. I'd be tempted to pick one formation and then invest the funds in your starting 11.

            Otherwise a good team.

    2. Mayor of Flair

      No keeper for GW1

      Pulisic not fit

      Soucek isolating

      Saka probably won't start

      Chilwell injured

do you think Saka will not start? who would start ahead of him? i think chilwell and pulisic could make it back in time - i'm not planning to tinker too much. Soucek self-isolation should be 10/14 days tops? i wasnt planning on too much tinkering hence why i wasnt too fussed on injuries/ isolations.

thanks for the feedback though, i do need to tinker a bit before kick off!

He'll be competing with Auba, Pepe and Willian for 2 places so risky.

Assuming he is fit to start then Pulisic a brilliant choice.

    McCarthy (Button)
    TAA - Vinagre - Dier
    Salah - Son - Auba (c) - ASM
    Mitro - Werner - Antonio

    Subs - Justin, Stephens, Mitchell

Planning on doing the Son/Auba to Bruno/KDB fandango at some point, by gw 4 most likely - 1.0m itb.

His ppg is similar to Ings, Jimi and better than Jesus, Tammy, Firmino, Laca so I think he could be a bargain.

Fixtures aren't great apart from gw1 but can still see him getting points.

        1. Mayor of Flair

Didn't know that, I know he scored 4 against Norwich which may have scewed that. He was also playing up front as a lone striker where as Haller looks like taking that spot this year. He could score GW1 but I'd have someone else lined up for the following 2 months.

Is it too crazy to start with 532 (Bruno bench)?

    McCarthy
    TAA, Doh, Vinagre, Justin, Egan
    Salah, Auba, Soucek
    Mitro, Werner

Would become 442 from GW2 with Bruno in for Vinagre.

I’m a little reluctant to go for a Spurs defender at the moment, mainly due to the Europa League.

Davies, Doherty and Dier seem the best options but how certain are we that they will start in the league?

But they’re nicely priced and Spurs have nice fixtures, so I’d like to include one!

Doh, Dier, Davies are the order I'd rate them - think Doh will be worth the extra, essentially playing in a RM role in possession while Davies tucks in at LCB.

But the Europa rotation/travel is a concern!

Thanks, that’s why I asked really. It would be a surprise if Rose came back in, while Doherty is surely ahead of Aurier and Dier seems in favour? I guess I’m wary of the effect of Europe on Spurs’ performances too, as well as the prospect of rotation.

For FPL purposes I'm not sure Greenwood & VDB should really even be in the same sentence tbh...

Greenwood is an (almost) OOP forward for 7.5 who at the time of writing has basically no competition for his slot...

VDB is in the mixer with Pogba, Bruno & the supporting cast of Matic, Fred, McTominay for three central midfield positions

I’m coming round to the idea of spreading funds a bit more in defence with 4.5s and maybe a couple of 5s to go with TAA.

Doh great but don’t see much in the 4 bracket. But if you don’t need the 4 defender it could certainly work

Considering you really don't get much for £35m these days - that seems a decent bit of business by Utd

There's definitely uncertainty over how he fits into a first XI, but definitely certainty that he's just raised the quality of the central midfield section of that squad a notch or two ahead of a long old season with probably 60+ games to come

That's possibly two very good signings in a row now with Bruno & VDB - what on earth is going on

Great signing. The Ajax academy helps to get these young guys out there and he's still young enough not to have been sucked into the whole murky greedy way of operating that plagues older players in their careers. He should be pumped and eager to perform

Same as ziyech seems to low to me surely, I could see him going for 9.5 easily but hopefully 9

          I agree. Ziyech is 8.
          Havertz could be 8.5

Jack Robinson at 4.5. If he plays big minutes again tomorrow with no O'Connell I think worth a punt. May of been poor friendly opposition but they have not conceded in 3 games.

        hes only 16% owned.
        Werner 43%
        Ings 26%
        Jimi 20%
Martial (has no game in gw1) 18%

          That’s still decent number.
Well, KDB also doesn’t have GW1 but he is ridiculously high in ownership...
Numbers will stabilize once people stop shuffling teams around and expect few more millions teams to be entered before dead line.
Still, I think initially he won’t be owned by more than 25%

Just seen there is an SPL fantasy game. Who is top after 7 weeks only FPL General Mark McGettigan. That guy is good. Is there really only 44,000 play this game, oh dear.
Starting late but good fun as an Aberdeen fan. Can get 3 Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and 2 Hibs players in my 11 so don't have to worry too much about who the flip everyone is from the smaller teams!

main change seems to be injured non playing players are subbed out for player in that position with highest point score. I like this difference.

Gone for a different approach with 3 up top, Martial on the bench:

    McCarthy
    TAA Doherty Egan Saliba
    Auba Alli JWP Soucek
    Kane Werner

    4.0 // Martial // Jonhson // Stephens

    Unpopular opinion:

so I understand a lot of people (experienced ones) don't like entire "template" thing.

given how inconsistent I've been in my past seasons, and I've decided to be more consistent this season, I genuinely think that going somewhat with a template in the start gives you more flexibility as you can alter your team to jump on bandwagon early on.
