Fantasy Football Scout to partner with Football Index for the 2020/21 season

Sponsored by Football Index

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’ll be joining forces with Football Index in the upcoming season.

We’ll be producing weekly articles throughout 2020/21, while there will also be regular segments on our Scoutcast and plenty more coverage besides.

If you’re new to Football Index, think of it as a revolutionary betting platform that works a bit like a virtual stock market.

Similar to player prices in Fantasy Premier League, the aim is to bet on the future value of the players when the price is low and then sell on when the value is high – the key difference here being that traders can profit from their ability to spot a bargain who is about to hit the big-time.

Fantasy managers can use their expertise to anticipate the on-field success of their assets in question, with dividends awarded for goals, clean sheets, assists and a whole host of underlying stats, from shots on target and accurate crosses to aerial duels won and tackles.

This is where the data in our Premium Members Area can really come into its own and give Fantasy Football Scout subscribers the heads up on which players could prosper on match days.

But that’s not all: along the way, traders win media dividends for positive headlines written about their players, so it’s worth keeping an eye on off-the-field events as well.

Like all betting platforms, the rules are fairly straightforward, and the nuances become more familiar with time.

We’ll be back over the weekend with a more detailed guide on how to play Football Index but head over to their website now for more information and tips on how to turn Fantasy prowess into a successful portfolio.

And don’t forget: this is trading with real money, so always gamble responsibly.

I assume Justin is nailed? If yes for how long do you think? Until Perreira is back?

Pereira back on the 1st October apparently so not that long. Also, they have signed Castagne.

Apparently Pereira is expected to be out till December and FPL is off the mark.

WC GW2 for GW3 is starting to look juicy. It obviously depends on how UTD shape up though.

Cannot say that I am interested in any City at the moment.

Havertz, mount, pulisic, werner, giroud, Kante, barklay, CHO, Abraham, loftus-cheek, kovacic, ziyech.

That's alot of players for 6 spots. The best options are likely to be the new boys and pulisic, but is rotation a risk for ALL of them?

Safer going with a Kane, Jiminez, Vardy, Ings over Werner?

Safer going with Son, Greenwood, Rashford, or a goid value cheapie over the new shiny Chelsea midfielders?

    1. Flaming Flamingo
      • 7 Years

Depends what you consider safe. You could argue that a Chelsea mid is safer than a United mid, as they play in GW1.

Would prefer someone coming in for a United player GW1 than have a 1 pointer bench appearance from a new Chelsea player.

If that's how you expect it'll play out then of course, but if you actually consider the likes of Ziyech and Havertz to be good options from GW1 then it isn't that simple.

All the new purchases are upgrades on what they previously had, some significantly so, if you wanna rule out an entire team because they have strength in depth then that's fine but I doubt Lampard is gonna be like Pep when it comes to rotation.

    Wildcard GW2 for me.

    A) Play BenchBoost

    McCarthy Fabianski
    VVD Tierney Dier Justin Vinagre
    Salah(C) Son Alli Keita Saka
    Werner Ings Antonio

    B) Set up like a FH team

    McCarthy
    TAA Justin Vinagre
    Salah Son Alli Keita
    Werner Ings Vardy

    So its basically
    A) Fabianski VVD, Tierney, Dier, Saka, Antonio
    vs
    B) TAA Vardy

I don't mind using the BB chip, would feel like a relief having it done.
But in order for it to be worth it, I'd like A to outscore B by at least 15 points. Is that likely?

    Team A or team B?

Take some money out of your first team Ziyech down to say 7.0 /7.5 could then use the money to upgrade either a mid or defender to a 5.0 like soucek or a 4.5 defender

      Martial.

Six of Rashford's goals last season were penalties. Remove those and he has 11 goals, which would still have been his highest ever PL goal tally.

As compared to the 17 Martial scored. And Martial got one more assist than Rashford too. In fewer minutes. And is cheaper. And was in better form at the end of the season.

Rashford might come good and has good underlying stats. But until I see that form, I prefer Martial.

So whats everyones thoughts regarding subs?
I usually like playing subs for all 4 spots, but this year im really struggling finding that.
I can afford 4.5 for a striker on the bench, so Davies, Brewster etc, but chances are those 2 arent going to get any game time.
Would you all knock a player or 2 down to get the 1.5mill for a 6mill striker i could possibly rotate? Or leave my starting 11 and just admit defeat in having spot on my bench that isnt going to get used?

I'm happy with a non-starting goalkeeper (although have gone Ryan/Button) a 4m def who might not always play (but will use a FT if/when there's a reliable one). Bench mids/forwards have to start most games. I think there's a real risk this year of players suddenly needing to quarantine.

I think you can probably go a whole season without ever having your third bench outfielder see the pitch. Even the second guy might not make it in . . . how often do two of your starting 10 outfield players put up zero minutes out of the blue?

I've got Brewster and Ben Johnson sitting on my bench, and if they spend the whole season waving towels and cheering on the team I am fine with that. I'd rather have the extra money to have one really reliable bench player to give myself the combination of cover and rotation options.

      Maybe that's just me.

Yeah youre in the same boat as me, but you seem so calm about it haha
I do get what you mean with that. But when it comes to BB/Double game week im going to be even worse in strugglig to find a 3rd striker. You just going to come to that issue later down the line?

I'm not thinking BB until the spring. By then you've identified this year's Todd Cantwell and stuck him on your roster. FPL squads tend to get more quality depth as the season goes on due to the emergence of hidden gems/sudden value players due to injuries.

Besides, if you are looking at investing in a third bench player because of BB you have to weigh that against the points you lose the other 37 weeks from not investing that money in superior talent. I'm not going to lose a whole lot of sleep by missing out on a random West Ham defender during BB week - what am I losing? Two points?

Perfect solution is for Brewster to go on loan to West Brom - all three of their forwards are under 6, but I wouldn't trust any of them to consistently hit a barn door (that's a fan talking btw)

Big call, but Brester going to Sheff Utd is more important than Messi coming to City

              There...

              I said it.

It's definitely more important to my fantasy team.

As a City fan going back to the days before the Thai money which came before the oil money, I have mixed feelings about Messi. I'm becoming more at peace with it, especially reading that the deal will bring him to my hometown for two years after his stint in Manchester.

The romantic in me misses the days of Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland.

Don't lose hope. Perhaps there's a multi-billionaire who is looking to invest in a sporting club and feeling tigerish.

I thought sporting players could be excluded but then Kane had to quarentine from holiday. Heard rumours about Martial needing to quarentine after internationals

Elite sports men / women are excluded from UK quarantine rules, but only on club duty, i.e. a 'holiday' during time off isn't covered...

    RMT, be gentle!

    Martinez | {Nyland}

    TAA | Doherty | Egan | {Mitchel} | {KWP}

    Salah (C) | Auba (VC) | ASM | Soucek | {Bissouma}

    Mitrovic | Werner | Vardy

Roll GW2 FT, then 4 high(er) priced 'enablers' in front 7 for WC or mWC (3 trf for - 4) in GW3, Vardy as a differential...

Martinez starting in goal is in doubt and even if nayland is first choice at villa, they are not playing in gw 1. I think you don't want to spend early transfer on goalkeeper. ( May be replace a goalie )

Don't think either goalkeeper will start and Soucek is unlikely to play in GW1 apparently. Otherwise solid 🙂

Thanks both... Martinez to McCathy obvious switch if required, but get the feeling he'll hold the no 1 spot over Leno, as he's been 'groomed' to be ARS for a fair few years, and finished last season strong... Food for thought though...

I have 10 of your team but dont have any of your (!) Players or bissouma. Instead I have kwp, dier, Taylor, soucek (who I may need to replace and alzate (Brighton as my mid fodder.)

      1) James will play if chelsea plays 5 @back.In that case Aapi will be CB.Else Aapi will be RB.
      2) The way they are doing the business and playing after project restart, i feel arsenal will play 5 @ back. Luis and may be gabriel are confirmed two spot.(third one is up for grab and there are so many candidates.
3)Certain start up until pereiara is back.Justin can also play lb.(chilewll sold)
      4) There are so many better picks cheaper than Ritchie .

This are just my thoughts take ur pick.

One premium in midfield without Soucek, solid defence and forward line of Werner Martial and Ings is looking like a solid long term strategy.

Not sure I'm brave enough for this Team (bit I might throw caution to the wind and do it anyway)

    McCarthy / Nyland
    Dier / Justin / Vinagre / Saliba / Johnson
Salah / Auba / De Bruyne / Fernandes / Soucek
    Mitrovic / Adams / Ayew

    100m

3-5-2 mostly - should get some big points on the board from the Midfield (not sure the rest will be tearing up the trees though)
