Fantasy Football Scout to partner with Football Index for the 2020/21 season

Sponsored by Football Index

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’ll be joining forces with Football Index in the upcoming season.

We’ll be producing weekly articles throughout 2020/21, while there will also be regular segments on our Scoutcast and plenty more coverage besides.

If you’re new to Football Index, think of it as a revolutionary betting platform that works a bit like a virtual stock market.

Similar to player prices in Fantasy Premier League, the aim is to bet on the future value of the players when the price is low and then sell on when the value is high – the key difference here being that traders can profit from their ability to spot a bargain who is about to hit the big-time.

Fantasy managers can use their expertise to anticipate the on-field success of their assets in question, with dividends awarded for goals, clean sheets, assists and a whole host of underlying stats, from shots on target and accurate crosses to aerial duels won and tackles.

This is where the data in our Premium Members Area can really come into its own and give Fantasy Football Scout subscribers the heads up on which players could prosper on match days.

But that’s not all: along the way, traders win media dividends for positive headlines written about their players, so it’s worth keeping an eye on off-the-field events as well.

Like all betting platforms, the rules are fairly straightforward, and the nuances become more familiar with time.

We’ll be back over the weekend with a more detailed guide on how to play Football Index but head over to their website now for more information and tips on how to turn Fantasy prowess into a successful portfolio.

And don’t forget: this is trading with real money, so always gamble responsibly.

Ramming the memberships down our necks is one thing, but a partnership with a betting company? Nice blog but you’ve sold out.

Ramming them down? That's their business model and they offer very good value.

Their business model is subscriptions and advertising. They're a media company after all. That's the business model.

Also, fantasy football has always been allied with gambling. Don't you have a money mini-league at work?

              Gambling can be fun too.

I play the football pools and am not addicted to gambling.

It's entertainment. Like drink. You can have a pint with your mates without being an alcoholic.

Some lose plot. Hence the hatred towards it IMO.

Selling out is over the top yeah. But can't Defend gambling IMHO.

I agree it can be fun bdw 😉

Yeah. People need to be responsible.

It takes maturity and not taking it too seriously.

It does heighten my enjoyment while watching the matches.

For example, in my 13 game pool with Germany and Spain in it, I have Germany for the win. So when Werner scored, I celebrated and I'm on edge now that Spain is getting chances. It increases the excitement while watching the matches.

The key is not to stake money you're not willing to lose.

And most importantly, don't throw good money after bad.

A lot of things can be dangerous. Can’t tread on egg shells with everyone. That is the reason the world is the way it is at the moment. Most people addicted to gambling who are on ffs are probably participating in hundreds of pounds worth of mini leagues and daily fantasy games . Don't see how advertising a footy stock game is suddenly a big issue. Anyway each to their own

Hardly new, is it? They've partnered with FantasyBet before too.

"Selling out" implies they were bought in at some point. Nothing I've seem from FFS has suggested they wouldn't do partnerships like this to generate income. Which I don't mean as an insult, really.

OK - perhaps "selling their soul" might be better phrase than "selling out" (especially if they've already sold out to an American company, which I wasn't aware of - I thought Mark owned it)

I don't agree with a lot of the stuff this place is doing..trying to completely take over FPL and make it theirs is appalling but i don't see people's issues with the gambling stuff. Unless you are a gambling addict why do people care..

People care when they've seen how people have become addicted to gambling and lost everything - money, job, family, life. They don't want to see more people go down that slippery slope.

Ricky Gervais sums it up well by saying - you wouldn’t see a notice for Guitar lessons at your local community hall and ring the bloke up saying you don’t need guitar lessons.

Probably worth keeping in mind when throwing out criticism toward a platform, an extremely beneficial platform at that, for them entering into partnership to generate revenue. If you don’t like it then really what consequence does it have toward you? Nothing.

thought I'd go big in defence for attacking players that might get more points than low priced mids.
what do you think of this as not template.

I'd scramble around and get Robbo in and downgrade Silva and Bertrand, Robbo will get more assists than your 4 defenders TAA excluded

Not sure on Tsilva, see how they settle, no reason to think they will do well at the back yet.
I like your thinking but this strategy isn't very flexible.

I know chelsea are dodgy at the back and think silva will provide the backbone to sure this up. the flexibility could come from selling one of the big guns if under performing. cheers

Greenwood on the bench in GW1 and/or 1.5 mil for Son to Bruno in GW2.

I'm doing this but leaving 2.5 so can have KdB/Bruno/Rashford.

just bench bruno or martial, over 1 x gw there's less chance one particular mid-premium price option will punish, plus you save an ft, which you might really need come gw2/gw3

Greenwood on bench and if another of your premiums is unavailable for GW2 for any reason then it's a easy switch for Rashford/Martial/Bruno

thoughts on this team please? bearing in mind i will likely be without internet access gw1 + gw2 so need a team i can leave for those first couple of weeks:

could also go Ings instead of Martial with 0.5 ITB and hopefully get internet access to do Ings>Martial for gw2, but can just leave if i don't have access

    McCarthy
    TAA / Robbo / Doherty / Vinagre
    Auba (C) / ASM / Bruno*
Werner (vc) / Mitro / Martial*

    Nyland / KWP / Soucek / Bissouma

Tried messing around with Kane in my team and versions with Salah, but i want a defence i can just leave barring injury/covid/atrocious form, this set up still gives me some premiums and an 'on-paper' great defence, don't wanna be using FTs through first half of season to be swapping defenders if i can help it, any thoughts greatly appreciated 🙂

think i'd rather have Werner, but maybe i've become a bit target-fixated with him in my team, gw2 isn't the best fixture for him, but i expect him to do pretty well in their other early fixtures, and i reckon he should be a lot more nailed than the CHE mid options

Still managed 10 goals 7 assists with limited minutes in a dysfunctional season.

Arsenal *should* be more attacking this season. Its a gamble, but he's potentially a very good pick for the opening two.

It's probably not about goals. Bielsa understands football much better than you or I do. The Spain coach too for that matter.

Do you think it's possible there might be a bigger plan, or finer subtitles to the game we just aren't qualified to understand? Rodrigo definitely has good qualities.

Last season Rodrigo was largely plagued by a reoccurring knee injury (ruled out for 11 games over 3 separate periods) but still managed fairly decent attacking returns with 7 goals and 11 assists in 34 apps (29 starts) of which he only completed 80+ minutes on 18 occasions.
He averaged an attack return every 138 minutes in an underwhelming Valencia side that finished 9th in La Liga.
Some of Rodrigo's notable attack returns came against Chelsea (x2), Ajax and Barcelona.
Last time he played against England (2018) he both scored and assisted goals in Spain's 2-1 win. This demonstrates he can preform against Premier league defenders.
