bet365 to be Fantasy Football Scout’s official sportsbook partner

We’ll again be combining Fantasy Football with a flutter in 2020/21 but this season we will be doing so in the company of our friends at bet365.

We are pleased to announce that bet365 will be our official sportsbook partner in the campaign to come, so expect to see regular articles covering the latest odds and special offers from the world’s favourite online sports betting company.

Each week we will be trying to harness our Fantasy know-how and the data in our Premium Members Area to pick out a few punts ahead of the upcoming action, to see if we can get one over on the bookies.

From baseball to trotting (us neither), bet365 offer a whole host of betting opportunities for those in the mood for a sensible flutter.

It’s good old association football that we’ll be focusing on in 2020/21, however, with the bread and butter of the Premier League our primary focus.

From first goalscorers to total corners, we’ll be seeing if we can pick out some value bets in the run-up to the weekend’s action.

We’ll be back with our first selection ahead of Gameweek 1 but, in the meantime, head on over to the bet365 site to check out the latest odds on the UEFA Nations League, the Premier League title race and anything else that takes your fancy.

For all the latest Premier League odds, visit bet365 and build your personalised football bet.

Paddy Power were the first one brought in to keep the site going - server and so on. Site tried to keep it as low key as they could I felt. Players odds - first goal scorers and so on.
If I remember correctly it was brought in apologetically as a last resort.
Now it is seems to be a bandwagon - more, more, more - no apologies - blatant - shameless - everyone jumping in on it.
'All Aboard' (old Scoutcast Sting/Jingle) used to have innocent connotations now it seems all aboard is somewhat sinister.

I used to get one over on the bookies by using their bonuses to tip the expected value of my bets in my favour. And so Bet365 banned me. They're only interested in punters who lose money and feed off the misery of gambling addicts. Shouldn't be a partner IMHO.

BET365 and Paddypower both suspended all bonus' and promotions on my account for 'abusing' them haha. PP send me a statement showing I'd made over £300 profit from bonus' haha. I can't complain.

I have no problem with gambling and don't mind advertisements on a free site. I'm actually intrigued to see if they offer 'FFS specials' type bets.
Probably have a little dabble here and there out of interest.
Nothing to lose the house and family over though like some people here seem to think is the end result of sticking £20 on a week.

It's fine if it's a bit of fun and you can manage the losses, but not everyone can and these adds can drive an addict back to gambling. Just take a look on some of the gambling support sites to see how much misery it causes to those unfortunate enough to become addicted, as well as their friends and family for that matter.

There are measures in place now to limit problem gambling. Especially online, setting restrictions on stakes, deposits, cooling off periods etc.
It is governed better than over addictions for example shops don't limit the amount of alcohol, cigarettes, sugary foods you can purchase.
Fast food chains do more damage (causing poor health leading to burden on NHS, damage to environment, massive scale animal cruelty) and their adverts don't get this negative reaction.

There are gambling consortiums which focus on profits from arbing using bookmaker offers on a very large scale and use very sophisticated software to block identities . Your gains are peanuts by comparison . Who can blame the bookmakers for trying to stop this ?

So they banned you for exploiting a loophole . Fair enough. You should have been more astute to avoid this. It's very simple to do so.

    I'm on this for GW1

    McCarthey
    Trent, Vinagre, Egan, KWP
    Aubameyang, Salah, Anguissa, Soucek
    Ings, Werner

    Steer, Greenwood, Woods, Taylor

Probably risky having non-playing subs but it's only 1 week. Will likely swap Auba for KDB and possible Salah to Sterling or Fernandes which will allow a few funds for later.

    1. Grimo2
      • 10 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

Similar to mine. Egan was my man after lockdown, but not sure on SHU with Hendo gone. Better value at that £5m bracket.
Greenwood to a big hitter for GW1 then can see how MUN & MCY start up? Lot of money on the bench when someone could be making you points.

      1. beastie
        • 5 Years

Who would you recommend swapping Greenwood for? I really want him for the season but don't want to waste a transfer later as will want KDB/Sterling/Bruno. Having him on the bench for 1 week might be counter productive but I don't know.

I'm thinking Ziyech (£8m) to then move around GW2/3 depending on how he starts. Not sure if you can jiggle your team to get that?

Davies could surprise. Saliba for differential and easy first fixture. James could sneak in and if secured, would be great value.

            • 6 Years

There are a couple of 'if's and maybe's there. Of those, I imagine only Ben Davies is likely to get regular starts - the other two are a bit of a wait and see (- I took Saliba out for that self-same reason.)

At least you know Egan is a guaranteed starter as Wilder won't rotate unless there is an injury...

Seeing as we're all weighing in.....

In general, FFS being partnered with gambling sites doesn't particularly bother me. This is their business model, it doesn't inherently contradict the ethos of the site and it's not like football itself is in any way divorced from the gambling industry.

I certainly don't think that such partnerships mean contributers should be less quick to discuss issues around mental health, as was suggested on the previous page. That seems a rather regressive reaction.

What I would say though is that on some other sites you can block out certain types of ads and on a lot of other sites the vast majority of community interaction doesn't take place in the comments sections of the articles themselves. It would be *extremely* useful if a mechanism was introduced whereby people can distance themselves more easily from this particular content. Because the format of this particular site does make it particularly difficult for those with strong objections to such partnerships to engage.

      Soucek -Auba(c)-Salah-Son
      Werner-Mitro

This site has always used betting partners hasn't it? Pretty sure it used to be paddypower and ffs users were given better odds and exclusive odds. I remember getting 10/1 on Torres first goalscorer which I gladly profited on.

Also the fantasy flutter has been something that's being on for years, as long as I can remember.

The way I read it is the fantasy flutter article will have the odds from Bet 365, that's not that bad is it?

Yes people are being very black and white about it as if there is no middle ground with betting. Its possible to promote something at a moderate level where it can be viewed as entertainment and at the same time warn against its extreme downsides when it it taken to the extreme. That's why gambling companies have to have those disclaimers when they advertise something. It's not one or the other, FFS are well within their rights to promote something which can contribute to their revenue streams whilst at the same time have representatives whom are genuinely concerned about the dangers of gambling at its extremes.

I ain’t a snowflake... I am probably the epitome of the opposite

Your comment is naive, stupid and ill informed.. a lot of people including myself have addiction issues and the promotion of this is frankly unacceptable. I luckily can handle it, many young foolish kids will end up killing themselves over gambling debts

Would it be okay to promote heroin or crack, gambling is just as bad an addiction?

Do you understand why FFS accept a sponsor like BET365? They’ll offer the most money, obviously. That’s a smart business choice. If you want a below par website with below par writers and tools, you’d accept a snowflake sponsor who offer you peanuts

It’s kind of like a post I saw on Twitter last night from Business Insider, they tweeted about a castle hotel in Japan charging 9k a night, comments are filled of outraged people saying how ridiculous it is to tweet something during a pandemic where people are losing jobs.

Tip number 1: learn how to make money and stop moaning about everything

You don’t address my message, therefore I assume you agree but wish to continue down the foolish path you have taken by using the term snowflake..

Trust me I despise snowflakes as you call them but you are just simply wrong here with your statements

Yes, cigarette advertising is banned, if this site got a cigarette advertiser it'd be bad.

Gambling is not, therefore this site isnt really doing anyhting wrong. Half the PL teams are sponsored by betting companies, seems harsh to not allow this site to cash in while turning a blind eye to most teams in the PL doing it by keeping on watching.

I quit gambling completely as couldnt do it in moderation. Will just ignore the adds.

I personally like a bit of a flutter but its never gotten to a stage where its been anything other than a bit of entertainment to me. You cant outlaw every potential vice humanity has otherwise we'd turn into a totalitarian state and black markets would inevitably be created causing more suffering in the long run. What you need is a properly regulated industry around gambling and other such vices with proper educational tools and safety measures given towards individuals with a problem e.g. betting restrictions imposed, potentially banned from the tote things like that. Social control and individual desire need to meet halfway in order for society to run optimally and promote overall well-being. We are human beings far from perfect and our collective vices aren't going anywhere.

Well I play poker for a living and I've recently run into deposit restrictions on a site I needed to deposit more than the daily limit on so it does seem these things are implemented to some degree in some of the gambling industry.

If he repeats what he did last time he was in the EPL 11 goals and 130 pts that's pretty good value and enabler.

Listen here FFS. I'm a devoted Muslim. I'm sure there are many other folks who are like me over here as FPL is very popular in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern countries. We're not allowed to associate with gambling, even if we're not the ones gambling. If FFS doesn't reverse it's decision before the season, I'll be forced into signing up for Hub and demanding a refund. Just being honest. Thank You.
