GoalScorer Challenge

Fantasy Football Scout joining forces with GoalScorer Challenge

Fantasy Football Scout have teamed up with the popular GoalScorer Challenge competition this season.

We will be giving away a Premium Membership to the best manager every month to go with the game’s £500 top prize for the campaign’s ultimate winner.

If you have not played before, GoalScorer Challenge is a very simple, and FREE, game. Every week you pick one player from the Premier League who you think is most likely to score. The more goals that man racks up, the more points you do. But pick wisely, as you can only pick each player once per season.

There are three types of Gameweeks:

Premier League – most weekends there will be a full round of fixtures comprising games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. These will all be included. If there is a full round of fixtures during midweek (for example over the Christmas period) these will be counted as a separate Gameweek.

International – during international breaks, you still have to pick a Premier League player. However, you get the points for any goals they score for their country. Only full internationals count, any underage matches are not included. International Gameweeks will span three days and for 2020/21 there are seven of these in total.

Cup – on FA Cup weekends, you are again limited to players playing for Premier League teams. The EFL Cup final will also be included as it will take place alongside a regular round of Premier League matches.

Each player will only ever play once in each Gameweek, the first game for which he is eligible. If, for example, a national team play twice over a weekend, the first match after the week’s deadline will be the applicable fixture.

If your player does not play, whether it be due to injury, suspension or being left out, you have still used them up and cannot re-pick them for the duration of the season.

If your player’s game is postponed, you do not get to re-pick the player and any goals he scores in the rearranged fixture will not count.

The onus is on you to make sure your pick is eligible, particularly on international weeks where some games can kick off before the deadline.

In a draft league team, would you rather have:
    A) Tierney and Pereira (wba)
    Or
    B) Cancelo and Maddison

I have A and have been offered the swap, my defence and mid is as follows...

    TAA Davies Stevens Vinagre XXXX
    Bruno Mahrez McNeil Trossard XXXX

But I think my defence is already solid and midfield could do with a boost. Not sure how good WBA will be

Just 2 days from the gw 1 deadline and ffs is still fisting sponsored articles on gambling/betting websites up our throats... the balance between providing quality fpl content and corporate greed is turning towards the latter really fast here.

This isn't a gambling website. It's helping support a small-scale, but incredibly well thought out FREE TO PLAY game.
How about actually checking the site out first before you wield the sword of Damocles?

So you are implying that ffs doesn't get paid for promoting another website here?
My point being the contents is more focused on promoting other websites than actually helping out people with fpl related content. Don't have anything against any particular site being promoted here but the way ffs is being run.

The complaints about the betting affiliation have been noted, but you're criticism of that shouldn't extend to this which is there to help support others who are trying to grow their ideas which they've worked incredibly hard on

Let's try and not mix up things, there are two aspects at play here.

1 The ethics behind affiliations with betting websites etc. - I would not like to voice my opinion regarding this
2 The tremendous increase in Sponsored content diluting the quantity and quality of ffs articles. So much so that the majority of people on here don't read the articles instead focus on the comment due to the lack of meaningful value addition. This is the point I am trying to highlight.

Everyone has to work hard to earn a living, that should not defeat the primary purpose of a website - its customers, especially members who pay a subscription fee

I heard Mitchell is only likely to play GW1. Ferguson is injured but I don't think for long, and he is likely to nail down a place once he's back. So if you want a long-term 4.0 DEF, Ferguson might be better.

Stephens is apparently not as nailed as Bissouma. Other playing 4.5M MID options are, from what I gather, Oriol Romeu, Reed and Anguissa.

Newcastle look good to keep a CS and no other 4.5 with similar fixtures (got Saliba)
So I guess it's out of ASM/Wilson then... Wilson has a great record v WHU.
Would you go Saka/Armstrong then over ASM purely to not have 3 Newcastle?

Arsenal's depth is so annoying FPL wise, apart from Aubameyang it feels like one of Pepe, Nketiah, Lacazette and Saka will get off to a flyer but who it is hard to tell. Willian I think is less likely to start initially but cannot be ignored.

I think Pepe is the best one price point wise even if he gets 30 min and 60 min, because with a small downgrade elsewhere Pulisic and Havertz can be transferred in for West Brom.

The biggest issue is you’ve no flexibility and the multiple premiums are destroying your team structure. 1-2 premiums required only for captaincy and then distribute the funds evenly for value across your squad

One forward doesn't work because the rules say you have to have one in your formation. So if Mitrovic doesn't play, you don't get a sub instead.

A bit off the template because I'm not convinced with Alli, ASM or Mitrovic.

    Ramsdale
    TAA Davies Justin Holding
    Auba Salah(c) Mount*
    Werner Ings* Wilson

Bench : Steer, Bissouma, Mitchell, Gordon

    1m in the bank.

Ings and Mount become Martial and James Rodriguez in GW2.

    Thoughts?

I wouldn't take a -4 whilst getting rid of Ings. Swap Mount for Barnes

Apparently, if Leicester play 2 upfront, Barnes isn't nailed.

You planning to drop 4 points in GW2? Seems risky to me

So you're asking if Wilson is a better pick than ASM?

      I'd pick Wilson.

    Hows this looking?

Salah (C). Auba (VC), Son, ASM
    Werner, Jimenez

    Ryan, Bissouma, Mitchell, Brewster

Leeds ranked 20th for penalties conceded in the Championship last season last season. They don't give many away.

    Another check in Mane's box...

1 game. they might concede and then not concede for ages if they continue in that vain.
Wouldn't read too much into that.

Not a huge factor, but it does affect the odds of Salah goal very slightly.

Just gathering all the data so I can make a more informed decision.

West Brom 12 conceded, just read Johnstone likes saving them 😮 (although they conceded 11 of them so not sure how that works)

Penalty saves are pretty huge for goalkeeper returns. But the West Brom defence worries me, and the Button signing adds a degree of risk.

Just check who started last 2-3 seasons best out of Mane/Salah. Then the decision should be obvious.

Currently on a 442 but feel like I should be playing 343 or even 352... just can’t seem to find a team that works??

    McCarthy Button
    TAA KWP Justin Mitchell ****
    Salah Aubameyang Son ASM Bissouma
    Werner **** ****

    1. Egan Ings Brewster (442)
    2. Egan Adams DCL (343)
    3. 4.0 Ings Mitrovic (343)

    Thanks guys!

    Hows this look?

    McCarthy (4)
    TAA - Dier - Davies (4,4)
    Salah - Auba - Zaha - Alli (4.5)
    Werner - Mitro - Wilson

    0.5itb

Auba/Zaha/Alli can become KdB/Greenwood/Havertz or some combination depending how things go.

He's much better than their recent full-backs, but he did join recently. I think time will tell but it's safe to assume he starts

Want to have all this big hitters but then the defence looks like this and have two 4.5 mids. Plan is to do Auba&Davies to Greenwood&Martial in gw3.

    Ramsdale Nyland
    TAA Lascelles Justin KWP Mitchell
    Salah Auba Son Bissouma Romeu
    Vardy Werner Davis

    Vinagre for Saiss
then drop Nyland for a 4.5 GK and alternate between him and Ramsdale?

    Yes or No?

      Not a fan of a 5.0 keeper, definitely not a 5.0 and a 4.5.

If you think that combo (which costs 1m more than most teams) gives you a big boost in points, then go for it.
