GoalScorer Challenge

Fantasy Football Scout joining forces with GoalScorer Challenge

Fantasy Football Scout have teamed up with the popular GoalScorer Challenge competition this season.

We will be giving away a Premium Membership to the best manager every month to go with the game’s £500 top prize for the campaign’s ultimate winner.

If you have not played before, GoalScorer Challenge is a very simple, and FREE, game. Every week you pick one player from the Premier League who you think is most likely to score. The more goals that man racks up, the more points you do. But pick wisely, as you can only pick each player once per season.

There are three types of Gameweeks:

Premier League – most weekends there will be a full round of fixtures comprising games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. These will all be included. If there is a full round of fixtures during midweek (for example over the Christmas period) these will be counted as a separate Gameweek.

International – during international breaks, you still have to pick a Premier League player. However, you get the points for any goals they score for their country. Only full internationals count, any underage matches are not included. International Gameweeks will span three days and for 2020/21 there are seven of these in total.

Cup – on FA Cup weekends, you are again limited to players playing for Premier League teams. The EFL Cup final will also be included as it will take place alongside a regular round of Premier League matches.

Each player will only ever play once in each Gameweek, the first game for which he is eligible. If, for example, a national team play twice over a weekend, the first match after the week’s deadline will be the applicable fixture.

If your player does not play, whether it be due to injury, suspension or being left out, you have still used them up and cannot re-pick them for the duration of the season.

If your player’s game is postponed, you do not get to re-pick the player and any goals he scores in the rearranged fixture will not count.

The onus is on you to make sure your pick is eligible, particularly on international weeks where some games can kick off before the deadline.

Was all set with Saiss and Adams in my team but getting cold feet now.

Saiss could not be nailed as we think with the new signing Marcal and Adams is one bad game away from a benching, does this makes sense or am I overthinking this here?

Speaking as a Wolves fan, I think there's very little chance of Buur getting the nod at RWB.

Most likely to be Traore, or even Dion Sanderson, who got experience on loan at Cardiff last season. Buur has only played U-23 football.

Playing bench boost GW1 then wilcarding GW2 to get united and City players in.
The way I see it ppl and going to be benching a lot of money GW1 either the likes of Bruno/Martial etc while I plan on getting my points off the bench and getting those players in the next game anyway (for free)

GW5 before international break probably. But as late as possible really. It would be nice not to use it early in case of Covid messing thngs up futher down the line - and just generally it's good to save it if possible.

But yeah, at the moment, I'm planning on using it after GW4.

(In one draft, I have no Liverpool.

If I go with that, I definitely plan to use it before GW6 to get in TAA etc. Just have a feeling Liverpool might not keep may clean sheets in the first 5 gameweeks.

But after that I'd go back to getting TAA and maybe Robbo and maybe even VvD too as season keepers.)

How is this looking. Realise the defence is a bit crap.

    McCarthy, Steer

    Werner, Wilson, Vassilev

I think the defence is good if you were playing 3 of those 4.

But as you're going 4-4-2, I reckon you'll have to downgrade a mid and upgrade the defence somewhere.

Maybe just Son to Alli and then Mitchell to a decent 4.5 who rotates with the others. Or a 5.0 DEF like Davies/Dier (good fixtures, Mourinho second season).

Whichever one that'll prevent a price drop. Does Wickham's red flag do so?

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Red-flagged players aren't locked. They get locked when they go from red to unflagged.

(I'm not sure how long they stay locked for but I think it's 7 days.)

So Wickham can go up and down in price while he's red flagged but his price will be locked when he goes from red flag to fully available.

A lot of value in defence. TAA, Robbo and VvD are crazy value compared to any other 7.5/7.0/6.5 players if they return the same as lat year.

Lot of mids attracting people obviously, I mean particularly at 7.7 and above,

and there are quite a few tempting 5.5/6.0 mids too to consider instead of a third forward and save a bit of cash. ASM/Saka/Armstrong are 5.5. Doucouré/JWP spring to mind at 6.0.

Ward-Prowse. Central to that attack and on pens. A bargain for 6 million

In Saint's pre-season game Ings took the first pen, JWP took the 2nd. Both on the pitch for both pens.

So they could be rotating them...

I do like JWP as a punt though.

True sorry should've said that. Even rotating pens as a 6 million mid with so much I fluence according to the starts is fantastic though

And he's as nailed as it gets. Played every minute last year.

Only got 117 points though. For the same price you get Doherty's 167 points.

Maybe it's better to spend the money in defence.

Three 6.0m-and-under mids got more than 117 points last year. Seventeen defenders did the same.

I know this is all last year, but.

Although, you'd then be stuck with a 4.5 FOR/MID on your bench. That's where it gets tricky.

Son to Alli allows for a 7/7.5 which are far better value that 6's.

But at 6 I go JWP, although double soton attack isn't my preference, so maybe ings > Jiminez too.

    If Soucek is available:

    A) Soucek + 4.5 defender rotating
    B) Egan + 4.5 midfielder with Egan playing every week

      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      B

Soucek is a good option for GWK1 if he starts for sure. My issue with having him instead of a 4.5 is I won't want to play him for a good number of weeks after with those fixtures, and will probably want that 0.5 elsewhere.

    Sorry for the REPOST people

    Does it look too rigid?

    McCarthy
    TAA Davies Mitchell Justin
    Son Auba Salah Jota
    Werner(C) Austin

    Sub: Nyland Bissouma Taylor Davis

    2.5 mil ITB.

    G2G?
    Should I:
    a. Bring in KDB for Son next GW.?
    b. Or bring in KDB for Salah next week and use that 2.5 mil now to upgrade the defence?

    McCarthy (Nyland)
TAA / Robbo / Justin (Mitchell, Johnson)
Mane / Auba / ASM / Son (Bissouma)
    Adams / Werner / Nketiah

The plan is to switch from Mane to Bruno in GW2, which would leave me with a great cataincy option in Bruno and 1.5 ITB. That can come in handy if I plan to upgrade elswhere in the team.

Thoughts on who is the best 5m def:

    1. Egan
    2. Dier
    3. Saiss
    4. Keane

Based on that i'll then pick a 4.5m which isnt KWP to cover the bad 5m fixutre, e.g. if Saiss then Dallas looks good to cover GW2, or Dier GW4 doesnt look good, so Taylor looks a better pick

I'm going Son. Easier to downgrade to havertz, than upgrade havertz to son

    A) Son, Brewster, 4.5 DEF

    B) Barnes, Mitro, 5 DEF

B gives me more mobility, but no Spurs cover. What do you say?

      A. Though I'd go JWP, Mitro and Doherty for the same price

I was looking at midfielders in the 5.0 - 6.0 ish bracket and then I noticed Trezeguet at Villa.
He was more or less a sub for most of the season, but after restart he featured in almost all the games for at least 75 - 90 min.

Is he nailed in the Villa line-up for the new season? Does anyone know?

Coz if he is, he actually looks like a really good pick - lots of attacking threat!

Wasn't nailed last season but finished spectacularly. I mentioned him the other day as an overlooked 5.5
Not playing GW1, so he won't be in anyone's current draft, but one to keep an eye on as I think Villa will be stronger this season.

Ollie - ANOTHER 6.0m striker! At least by sitting out GW1 he spares us another immediate dilemma.
