Team Reveals

Fantasy Football Scout’s best FPL team reveals ahead of Gameweek 1 deadline

As Fantasy Premier League managers search for the best players and best combination of assets for Gameweek 1 of the 2020/21 season, we have collected our Team Reveals all in one place.

The clock is ticking down and everyone in the FPL community is desperate for some answers. Thankfully we have them in abundance.

Fantasy Football Scout will be running exclusive weekly Team Reveals on the site throughout the season (which you can ACCESS HERE), but as it’s the last day before the Gameweek 1 deadline we are publishing a bumper edition.

We wanted to do something special, by sharing insights from a whole team of leading managers together in one place. Welcome to the best Gameweek 1 Team Reveals…

1. Lateriser12

Three-time top 200 finisher and India’s reigning champion, Lateriser12 is going without Salah, but how has he spread the funds? Premium Members can find out!

2. Simon March

Former FPL winner and four-time top 7k finisher Simon March is also going without Salah. Premium Members can find out why!

3. Darren Wiles

Currently sat third in the FFS Career Hall of Fame, Darren Wiles is going light up-front this season, but which mid-price forwards have taken his fancy?

4. Az

Co-host of the Scoutcast and FPL Black Box, Az has gone for a 4-3-3 formation in light of Blank Gameweek 1’s awkward nature.

5. Andy

With six top 20k finishes to his name, Andy Mears, our video manager, is eyeing up a Chelsea double-up for the start of 2020/21.

6. Zophar666

Recorded before Ziyech’s pre-season injury, this team reveal video from a seven-time top 10k finisher reveals a Chelsea double-up combined with lavish spending elsewhere.

7. Gianni Butticè

Author of Fantasy Premier League: Unlocking the Secrets to a Top 1% Finish, Gianni is going for the bold approach of a triple-up on Arsenal this season.

8. Karam

Karam has gone for the rather bold approach of tripling-up on Liverpool… in defence!

9. Sam Bonfeld

Fresh from a 3k-finish in 2019/20, Sam has somehow managed to get FOUR players priced £10.5m or higher into her team.

10. David Munday

Fantasy Football Scout editor David is toying with the inclusion of Harry Kane this season.

11. Neale Rigg

Fantasy Football Scout’s deputy editor Neale has considered going with a 4-4-2 formation to accommodate investment in Manchester United from the start.

12. Stephen Harrap

Meanwhile, the second-placed FFS Career Hall of Famer, Stephen Harrap has opted for a decidedly puzzling line-up (see what we did there?), choosing to semi-reveal his intended starting squad in cryptic crossword style.
The first person to correctly identify the squad in the comments will earn a Premium Membership (and our eternal admiration!)

    Play
    DCL (vs Tottenham)
    or
    Soucek (vs Newcastle)

      Gamble on Soucek....?

If DCL scores, on your bench, you have the comfort of knowing he's nailed in for you for about the next 7 weeks....

The sensible call is DCL though haha.

Who else do you have in that you could 'bench'.... I think they're both decent enough picks and I assume you're set up nicely enough for GW2?

No one really. I have a strong GW1 team but my GW2 team is really shite and cant see an alternative.

            McCharthy
            TAA Vinagre Justin Mitchell Dallas
            Mane Auba Son ASM Soucek

              Ah yeah, I see.

It's a good side, just not loads of wiggle room until you downgrade Mane or Auba - but its good.

    Absolute final decision.

Alli or Havertz? Already have Werner, and I can see Alli being the main man centrally behind Kane. His numbers were good when he, Son and Kane played together so just feels like a nice punt for those early fixtures and he's a differential

Actually I lie. I’d want to see Alli get his spg up first. In ‘16 it was 3.5, last two years it was 1.7 ish. Son rocks 2.7 ish consistenty and more kpg. Plus Son’s goal of the season last year! He can run the pitch, beat 7 men and score! Son

Wow, ok. Son is a fantastic player. I would have him as one of the first names on my team if Kane was injured. People are blindly picking him based on his goals when playing through the middle. I’m just trying to highlight that.

      1. I trust him more because he's more consistent, unlike Alli who is consistent.
      2. I fear Alli is more of a rotation risk due to Spurs' congested schedule. Son's place is more secure.
      3. I might have a soft spot for Son as I'm a big fan of him.

I’m a big fan of Son too, but he’s not a great prospect under Mourinho and frankly, people wouldn’t have him in their team if Man Utd and City players were avaialable.

          But they're not available.

          Son:

          https://www.transfermarkt.com/heung-min-son/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91845/plus/0/saison/2019/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/148

          Kane:

          https://www.transfermarkt.com/harry-kane/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/132098/plus/0/saison/2019/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/148

Mourinho took charge in GW13 away to West Ham. While he is, indeed, more of a threat without Kane in the team, he's got lots of attacking returns even with Kane.

On the comparison tool, Son beats Alli on 10/11 key metrics and 73% of all metrics last season (adjusting for games played)

I agree with you mate, not sure why everyone is dismissing this instantly. Son clearly stays out wide when Kane is in the team and Alli plays more like a Shadow Striker. Son still gets returns when he's wide but isn't as prolific. Doesn't pass the eye test either. I'm not sure why everyone is disagreeing here.

    Final 2 spots

Son and Ings (have Ali already)
    Salah and Adams

Captaining Aub this week so that doesn’t factor in.

I'd be very surprised if we park the bus. I don't think we'll be suicidally gung-ho, but Bielsa's whole ethos is attacking, possession based, pressing football, and he definitely won't backtrack on that regardless of opposition.

They don't look too dissimilar to be fair.

Probably as good a side as you can get with two big hitters up top. Nice.
