Team Reveals

Fantasy Football Scout’s best FPL team reveals ahead of Gameweek 1 deadline

As Fantasy Premier League managers search for the best players and best combination of assets for Gameweek 1 of the 2020/21 season, we have collected our Team Reveals all in one place.

The clock is ticking down and everyone in the FPL community is desperate for some answers. Thankfully we have them in abundance.

Fantasy Football Scout will be running exclusive weekly Team Reveals on the site throughout the season (which you can ACCESS HERE), but as it’s the last day before the Gameweek 1 deadline we are publishing a bumper edition.

We wanted to do something special, by sharing insights from a whole team of leading managers together in one place. Welcome to the best Gameweek 1 Team Reveals…

1. Lateriser12

Three-time top 200 finisher and India’s reigning champion, Lateriser12 is going without Salah, but how has he spread the funds? Premium Members can find out!

2. Simon March

Former FPL winner and four-time top 7k finisher Simon March is also going without Salah. Premium Members can find out why!

3. Darren Wiles

Currently sat third in the FFS Career Hall of Fame, Darren Wiles is going light up-front this season, but which mid-price forwards have taken his fancy?

4. Az

Co-host of the Scoutcast and FPL Black Box, Az has gone for a 4-3-3 formation in light of Blank Gameweek 1’s awkward nature.

5. Andy

With six top 20k finishes to his name, Andy Mears, our video manager, is eyeing up a Chelsea double-up for the start of 2020/21.

6. Zophar666

Recorded before Ziyech’s pre-season injury, this team reveal video from a seven-time top 10k finisher reveals a Chelsea double-up combined with lavish spending elsewhere.

7. Gianni Butticè

Author of Fantasy Premier League: Unlocking the Secrets to a Top 1% Finish, Gianni is going for the bold approach of a triple-up on Arsenal this season.

8. Karam

Karam has gone for the rather bold approach of tripling-up on Liverpool… in defence!

9. Sam Bonfeld

Fresh from a 3k-finish in 2019/20, Sam has somehow managed to get FOUR players priced £10.5m or higher into her team.

10. David Munday

Fantasy Football Scout editor David is toying with the inclusion of Harry Kane this season.

11. Neale Rigg

Fantasy Football Scout’s deputy editor Neale has considered going with a 4-4-2 formation to accommodate investment in Manchester United from the start.

12. Stephen Harrap

Meanwhile, the second-placed FFS Career Hall of Famer, Stephen Harrap has opted for a decidedly puzzling line-up (see what we did there?), choosing to semi-reveal his intended starting squad in cryptic crossword style.
The first person to correctly identify the squad in the comments will earn a Premium Membership (and our eternal admiration!)

Moyes will most likely start this season with the same line up as he finished well with last season. I’d say yes, even though noble is a guaranteed 2/10 every game

Going through the teams of the Hall of Fame legends I noticed how many have Southampton's defensive assets, in particular Mccarthy/KWP. If we look past GW1 and the fact they sold Hojberg without buying a direct replacement one could argue that it is a case of groupthink. Not a wealth of options of 4.5 goalkeepers so Mccarthy maybe the best of the rest. But in regards of KWP I believe there are better options out there. Am I the only one having doubts?

I am too I have the double up but i dont like it. Lascelles is the best replacement i can come out with though as I have Justin

Southampton are a established Premier League team, with great form behind them, they could have a very strong season, so to have KWP and McCarthy come in at 4.5m with a good long run of fixtures. It’s a no brainier. It’s either them or you go down the promoted team routes to find 4.5m alternatives, which isn’t the best idea.

Could and no brainer in the same sentence don't fill me with confidence. Loads of other options, but all have their catch. Vinagre/Justin/Ayiling/Lewis/Taylor to name a few.

    4. Jonny HOW SON?
      • 9 Years

I don't expect many clean sheets, but as you said McCarthy seems to be the best 4.5 option

Agreed, but makes me think of a different approach and buying a +4,5 goalkepper even though I believe I never have in my 8 years playing FPL.

I found the extra .5 to upgrade KWP to Saiss with McCarthy in goals - Salisu is an excellent centre back so I think they'll improve but doubling up is too much for me. I like Wolves without the Europa distraction.

Good points. Soton should have a decent season but it may well not translate into clean sheets

True, but will he make up for Hojberg -> Romeu? I would argue that they were lacking a propper DM.

This is a good point. As you don't want to be wasting transfers on 4.5 defenders (which counts out Vinagre, Justin & Mitchell for me), I think the best long term pick is definitely Taylor.

Targett rotates very well with Taylor (up to GW17 the hardest fixtures for the pair are whu & wol, the rest are blue). Villa improved tremendously at the back after restart and are in the market for a better keeper.

And are Southampton's fixtures really that good?

    Salah Auba Alli Doucoure
    Werner Ings

    4.0m Taylor Soucek Brewster

1.0m itb (which is very unusual for me)
Ings to Martial and Alli to Chelsea mid the next moves
One of Salah Auba to City mid
Brewster just fodder as i'm unlikely going to have 3 pool players in the short term

You will need to keep a close eye on price rises as only takes Martial/Pulisic/Havertz to rise by .1 and your 1m won't cover it and Martial will v likely go up with people bringing in Utd assets

I think he could definitely work as a long term option but imo the best strategy is to take him out for a bit in GW3. It's not possible to have them all, as you say, so we will have to play the fixtures.

Think I’m down to two spots to sort out. 3-4-3 with Soucek+Martial, or 4-4-2 with Havertz+Brewster (bench unless he moves). The 4-4-2 also leaves 1.0 to spend.

    McCarthy
    TAA - Vinagre - Davies - Mitchell
    X - ASM - Aubameyang - Salah
    Ings - Werner
    (Button - X - Bissouma - Ayling)

Look if you're gonna stretch to that much for a defender you get the one that's on set pieces.

TAA as he beat Robbo considerably last season ans has set-pieces.

Same as mine except I have gone for JWP and Martial instead of Son and Adams.

      I like it.

I've swapped him for Burke, probably not going to be anything but I think he has much more potential
