Late registration open for FanTeam’s €1m season game – start on 46 points in GW2

Sponsored by FanTeam

Missed the Gameweek 1 deadline for FanTeam‘s €1,000,000 FPL-style Fantasy game?

Fear not, as you have a second chance to enter ahead of this weekend’s action – and you won’t be starting from zero points.

Late registration is now open for FanTeam‘s season-long game, which carries a guaranteed prize pool of €1m.

Finishing in the top 5,659 places ensures a cash prize, with €200,000 of the kitty going straight to the winner.

Weekly and monthly prizes are also awarded.

New teams registered before the next FanTeam deadline at 11am BST on Saturday morning will be handed 70% of the average Gameweek 1 score (which equates to 46 points), so will immediately have the edge over circa 7,000 Fantasy managers who were involved from the outset.

In case you needed more persuading, here’s how you can turn your late entry into an advantage.

Unlimited Transfers

Those entering a new team in FanTeam‘s €1m FPL-style Fantasy game will get unlimited free transfers between now and the start of Gameweek 2.

While those who registered teams before 2020/21 got underway will only have one free transfer (and the precious Wildcard) in their locker, managers of newly entered teams will get to tweak their sides as much as they like until the next deadline.

Gameweek 1 eye test and stats

Picking a squad ahead of Gameweek 1 relies a lot on gut instinct, with the knowledge that last season’s performances and statistics may now be immaterial.

Fantasy managers entering a FanTeam squad ahead of Gameweek 1 will have the benefit of having seen 16 Premier League clubs in action on the opening weekend of 2020/21, so will be armed with line-up information, eye test observations and up-to-date underlying stats when creating their teams from scratch.

Manchester United and Manchester City Players

Both Manchester clubs, along with Aston Villa and Burnley, were without a Premier League fixture in Gameweek 1.

All four of those sides begin their league campaigns this weekend and Fantasy managers entering a team in FanTeam‘s €1m game using late registration have the advantage of being able to include the likes of Kevin De Bruyne (£12.5m) and Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m) from the off, rather than attempting to navigate a tricky blank on the opening weekend.

Another commercial decision by a fantasy football entity this time FanTeam automatically disadvantages all those already registered who scored mediocre points in GW1. 46 points, build a team with all the knowledge of the first game week and be able to structure to include City and United, outrageous!

It was clearly stated from the outset that teams could join after GW1 and would start with 70% of the average points.

My mistake then i didn't trawl all the T&C's before i signed up again after a reasonably successful time last year. Had i realised i would have entered my second team by this method, although in fairness aside from the ability to completely change the squad i would be at a points disadvantage on both my current entries.

Hi guys, I need some advice, so, any advice is welcomed. My team looks like this:
    McCarthy (Nyland)
TAA / Robbo / Egan (Mitchell, Johnson)
Auba / Salah / Havertz / ASM (Bissouma)
    Nketiah / Werner / Adams

What should I do with Havertz and Nketiah? I planned for this GW to do Havertz to James Rodriguez, which would leave me with 1.0 itb. This would mean that I'll probably have to put up with one more Nketiah cameo, but it would give me opportunity to do one of these two for GW3 :

    A) Auba and Nketiah for Bruno and Jimenez
    or
    B) Auba and Nketiah for Rashford and Martial

What do you think, what's better out of these two options? Or do you think I should do something else with my team?

I'm still edging towards having a 'Team' as such, but as an avid gambler I feel enticed to Raiders as my team given their Vegas move, but also cheer for Rams after watching their All or Nothing series on Amazon a while back, the others haven't really grabbed me.

I mostly watch the teams where I like their playing style, like last season as Mahomes was always dangerous with the threat of rushing.

I was a massive F1 fan in the late 90's when Hakkinen was really pushing Schumacher to the limits, loved that passin move at Spa in 2000. Schumi's utter dominance from 2000-2004 kinda killed any interest for me though and seems it just now goes through cycles of one team being overly dominant.

Back in the days I had many that I followed quite eagerly. Now it is 99% football. Maybe tennis is the next one. If I had more time and lived in the States (or other better timezone) I would probably follow NBA and NHL more.

        Current Midfield of:

        Auba, Hames, Pulisic, Alli (Bissouma)

Get rid of Pulisic as he's a risk, or hold on given Chelsea's upcoming fixtures?

Suggested replacements? Willian, Greenwood, Foden, Grealish?

Just read Agbonlahor's comments on the Alli x Mourinho situation. I know, I know.. He's a pundit, he makes a living out of making headlines with his comments and statements, but if there's any truth to it, Alli surely has to go from my team.

The switch to Jamez seems a no brainer, but when's the time to do it? Would have liked to see Spurs' line up tomorrow night before deciding, but by then Alli may have dropped in price.

What does Spurs' lineup tell you?

Nothing really. If he plays, you'd argue he'd be dropped at the weekend. If he doesn't play, then you think he's fallen out with the manager and is frozen out of the team. There's no info gained.

Today's game is more useful. Basically, if JamesR doesn't play or gets through the game unscathed, the transfer is a go.

          Idk what he said but;
Whatever the reason for Alli’s subbing, he won’t have been happy and would most likely have thrown a tantrum.
In the post match interview Jose said there wasn’t time for crying and things, whether that was in relation to Alli idk, but I’d guess it was.
Jose does like him, not sure why he was subbed, Alli won’t be happy. I expect Alli starts next but I won’t be massively surprised to see him benched

And then Werner has a better fixture in GW3, and 4, and arguably 5. You going to keep switching? Of course if you're wildcarding in GW3 then sure it's a good transfer for one week
