The best Leeds players to keep on your FPL radar in Gameweek 2

Fantasy Premier League managers got a first look at Leeds United players in a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool in Gameweek 1 – but are their assets ready for mass FPL ownership?

Marcelo Bielsa’s men certainly entertained the neutrals at Anfield with their bold and free-flowing approach, finding the net three times at the home of the defending champions. Not a bad start to life back in the top flight.

To help refine our watchlist of Leeds options, we have taken a look at that match in more detail to get a better understanding of the Whites this season.

As this article uses Opta data only those with Fantasy Football Scout Premium Membership can access it in full.

What were the average positions of Leeds players?

Who you think will be first sacked head coach? West Ham have so bad fixtures, probably Moyes? Maybe even Mourinho?

    OUT:
    Havertz, Vinagre

    IN:
    James, Saiss, +0.5

Seems pretty sensible for a -4, right?

Obviously would ideally wait for Vinagre to Saiss until after City but want to avoid price changes

This naming thing has to be decided upon...

I spent a good 30 seconds wondering how you managed to turn Havertz into Reece James...

Hamez or Hot Rod or Bond. Something to make clear it's the Colombian.

        That is true...

Maybe I'm falling for a case of making a move when not needed to avoid a -0.1.

On the other hand, I will almost certainly be moving Vinagre out for a hit in one of the next few weeks. The only difference between doing it now and later is the price change!

Any suggestions on a short term plan for this squad - glaring omissions (Everton players?), players on borrowed time (Davies?), etc. Reasonably happy with my lot at the moment. Used my FT this week to bring Martial for Ings as planned. Plan to then bring KDB in for Auba next week, but haven't thought beyond GW3. Thanks.

    Ramsdale
    Trent Davies Taylor KWP
    Auba(C) Salah Grealish
    Werner Martial Wilson

I consider myself a conservative and often risk-averse FPL player so I am very surprised to have wildcarded already. They say you'll know when the time is right, and it felt right. I have shipped the dross (ASM, Adams, Egan, Vinagre, McCarthy) and now have a really nice team for the next few months which should require very little management. 4-5-1 most weeks with Ayling, Lamptey and Soucek rotating. What do we think?

    Martinez

    Robertson Digne Saiss Lamptey

    Salah Auba Bruno Rodriguez Soucek

    Jimenez

    Steer Ayling Davis Brewster

I have got Digne in for Everton's great fixture run, although I believe he is a little overpriced this season. I won't hesitate to downgrade him should their form stutter, which would give me an extra 1.0 to get Werner in for Jimenez or Pulisic in for JRod should Chelsea start firing.

Auba will make way for KDB next week which gives me 0.5 to upgrade Robbo to TAA when and if necessary.

Morning Mighty Whites, What are the chances of Struijk keeping his place this GW ?? he played well against LFC but I know but I know Cooper is back ...........also is he worth keeping long term ?? will he get minutes ?? can he play anywhere along the back line ??

Cooper should be fit for Fulham so if he is he'll start, with regards to Struijk he's back up CB, can play holding midfielder too, might not be a bad shout as a 4.0 defender

The thing that swung it to Salah for me was looking at Salah at home vs Auba away. Mo destroyed him on every single metric, even shot conversion. I don’t understand why RMT had Auba slightly ahead.

Well it did, that's the whole point of using a larger data set and taking an average, using a single week and claiming any sort of predictive power or lack there of just has so much noise. i.e: 3 goals from an xG of 0.38

Just how much of a recipe for disaster is this potential WC ahead of GW3.

    Martinez • 4.0
    TAA • Saiss • Lamptey • Lewis (4.0)
Salah • KDB • Bruno (Soucek, Bissouma)
    Werner • Jimenez • Brewster

Play 4-3-3 with Soucek first bench and hopefully Brewster in SHU. Very imbalanced but has all the big hitters in. Alternatively, I can play 4-4-2 if Bruno + Soucek were Rashford + Fraser.

I think 3 premium mids is too much and is at the expense of the rest of your team. Downgrade one of them to upgrade Brewster and 4th mid IMO.

      Imbalanced.

I think you have to sac one of Werner or Jimenez.

I'd sac Jimenez. Not explosive. If you pick the correct players like Grealish + Wilson it can outperform Jimenez + 4.5m rotating defender.

I have had a thought that it is surprising to me that none of the ManU and City assets have risen in price, each day they have been predicted to rise and still haven't. Do we think it is the case that fpl's interpretation of no prise rises till the season starts is team specific. i.e: No changes till GW2 for the blank GW1 teams.

Somewhat frustrating if that is the case as the decision to bench ManU players was partly predicated on the desire not to lose out on the price rises and wanting to roll a transfer into GW2.

    1. Miguel Sanchez
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

You were still able to roll a transfer by benching a Manc player

    McCarthy (Nyland)

TAA Justin Davies ( Taylor/ Williams)

Salah Auba Son ASM (The Lord)

    Mitro Vardy Adams

I have a FT but we have a strange rule in our mini league that means we can't have anyone against the team we support (I know....) which makes GW 3 a situation where I'd like 2FTs.

    A) Vardy to Martial
    B) Auba to Bruno
    C) Auba to Rash (exra funds next week for City)
    D) Son to James Rod
    E) Sit on it

    Salah Auba (c) Alli ASM

Salah - Aubameyang - Rodriguez- Hendrick- Bissouma

I struggle to see my team with no Trent, but then I have against the grain with no Aubameyang.
I would start with Werner and not plan hits, I think he has 3 great games, if he fails you can downgrade to Jiminez especially in and around the Fulham game, this is my plan (see above)

You could downgrade 1 keeper and save a 1m by doing Martínez/Steer rather than 2 keepers on rotation

To those trying to justify taking a hit or save gw1 , I chose to save 1st gw only to realize I need to probably need to wildcard gw2 because the player(s) I kept faith in didn't deliver and price volatility meant I needed to make fast moves on players I was waiting on.

Bottom line I'd rather take the hit be satisfied with 1-2 transfers based on what I see rather than wasting that patience and blowing up a WC.

Just food for thought for those in a similar dilemma.

I moved Alli this week based on that thinking...

Very very scared of Auba this week.

Decided to start with only one 12.0 player in order to get both Werner and Martial and to have better balance.

I thought that Salah was definitely the better option than Auba for GW1, but Auba clearly better for GW2. Went for Salah in the end! It's worked so far but I'm anticipating a red arrow this week!

D, I'd love to get Bruno on my WC but it's so hard to fit in when getting two from Salah/Auba/KDB/Sterling too.

      A) Auba (c) and Bruno
      B) Bruno (c) and KDB

      Just cancelled the common denominators

Just realized 4 out of my 5 defenders are "first name as a last name."

    Justin
    Mitchell
    Lewis

And finally the double first name last name - Alexander Arnold.

Challenge - Can anyone on here name a full squad of first name last name players?
