How FFS Hall of Fame leader and Virtual FPL champion is lining up for Gameweek 2

Current Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame leader, Fábio Borges has finished inside the top 5k in each of the last five seasons, and even won 2020’s inaugural edition of Virtual FPL.

After an intense Fantasy season in 2019/20, I decided I needed a longer break than usual in order to come back stronger.

Not only was Project Restart a hectic return to something resembling normality, the lockdown period was defined by my involvement in Virtual FPL – which threw four Gameweeks per week at us for nearly two months.

Pretty exhausted from all of that, I only started tinkering my FPL team for 2020/21 a few days before the Gameweek 1 deadline, which I think actually helped me. It made sure I was able to avoid overthinking and countless outdated drafts.

So, the first Gameweek went great for me with 82 points, which means I’m currently 231k in the World. Even more important than that, none of my players got injured or red carded and, other than a few small concerns, my starting 11 still looks in good shape going forward.

Without further ado, here is my team and what I’m thinking ahead of Gameweek 2.

His underlying stats are almost identical to KDB. Have a look at understat. He doesnt even need to come anywhere near this level to make 7.5mil very cheap.

Auba to a City/Utd mid after this GW a logical move no matter how well Auba does vs West Ham? Upcoming fixtures look tricky (Liv/Shu/Mci/Lei/Mun) worth holding at 12M with those fixtures?

In comparison to Man U and City options. Can’t see Auba even with some fair home games out scoring those other options.

I will be looking at downgrading Auba and use spare case to upgrade one of my forwards.

I actually am interested to see how Willian gets on for the next 2 GW's. Could end up better value for money conpared to Auba.

89 pts but Havertz and Vinagre to sort out. Painted myself into a bit of a corner by taking a -4 for Bruno and still have Vinagre.

are you taking a -8 mate and switching Vinagre?

I'm on a -4 if I get rid of Havertz for Rash but then still have Vinagre the bell end

Surely you hold Vinagre this week. There aren’t any options at 4.5 (assuming you’re bringing in the same price point) that would repay you this week!

It’s tricky. Planned move for next week is Auba to KdB or Sterling so I’d either have to take a hit, wildcard or put off the transfer for another week :/

It is tricky. Auba to City seems a positive move and I think Vinagre just eats bench until you can find a FT.

I’m very pro hit - take many a year (some good, some bad). After only 1 GW of data it seems like a lot of the hits are chasing points.

I don’t hate many of the Utd/City hits.

Sterling looking like a great differential pick to KDB if Pep can be trusted

Pep Guardiola: "He [Sergio Aguero] has to come back on the pitch and regain the physical condition. Sergio was out for a long time and he is not a guy who regains the physical condition quick so I think in one month or two months he will be ready."

Hi all, is this team GTG for this GW? Did Ings > Martial 1FT. Anything worth a -4? Saliba troubles me but his drop to 4.4 has stuffed my plans for now.

    Ramsdale
    TAA CTaylor Saliba* Bavies
    Salah Auba ASM Havertz
    Werner Martial

    Subs: Steer, Bissouma, Mitchell, Brewster

    £0.0 ITB 0FT

Think Ings sellers could regret their decision, Spurs have looked absolutely terrible and conceded to a team of Bulgarian farmers with their full strength XI, barely beating them 2-1. I can see Ings getting one or two goals.

I understand the Martial move but feel it is a bit rash given it's United's first game back and Palace have a game already in them and kept a clean sheet.

But it's the start of the game. Why do u want to shoot yourself in the foot by not getting the penalty takers and freekick takers and corner takers of the teams that got the highest and second highest amount of penalties last season. Plus they're not Like milivojevic was. They have amazing assist and goal potential outside of setpieces too.

Will Man U get that many pens again? Let’s see. The money saved allows me to get Saiss who will get many CS in the coming weeks. So I could compensate the potential lack of
Bruno’s points with more points in defence.

Would it be madness to C Salah over Auba or even Man Utd assets this gameweek? My thinking is Chelsea gave chance to Brighton and L.Pool are great going forward just seems its maybe an unnecessary risk when Auba is the obvious pick

Sure by that time another player in your team will drop in form so you can fund it through them. Right now you can’t plan too far ahead as you don’t know how the games will unfold

    McCarthy

    Digne - TAA - James
    Salah - Auba (C) - HAVERTZ - Soucek
    Werner - DCL - Adams

Bench: Steer - Bissouma - Vinagre - Mitchell

    Question:
Worth doing Havertz out for -4 points, for someone? Or just keep him for one week
