Leeds defence boosted by return of Cooper as Mitrovic starts for Fulham

Fantasy Premier League managers will get a first look at Leeds’ defence with their club captain involved today.

Liam Cooper (£4.5m) missed the Gameweek 1 trip to Liverpool with a minor injury and watched his colleagues concede four times.

Gameweek 2 appears to be more of a standard fixture for the Whites this season and, with interest in Stuart Dallas (£4.5m) and Luke Ayling (£4.5m), his contribution will certainly something to watch today.

Outside of that change, Marcelo Bielsa has retained faith in the other 10 players from the Anfield loss.

As Pascal Struijk (£4.0m) drops to the bench, there are second starts of the campaign for Patrick Bamford (£5.6m), Jack Harrison (£5.5m), Mateusz Klich (£5.5m), Hélder Costa (£5.5m) and Pablo Hernández (£6.0m).

Fulham are boosted by a returning player of their own, as Aleksandar Mitrović (£6.0m) comes into the starting line-up after a minor injury forced Scott Parker to bench him for Gameweek 1.

The Serbian forward is supported by a three-man attacking midfield of Aboubakar Kamara (£5.0m), Josh Onomah (£5.0m) and Ivan Cavaleiro (£5.5m).

Tom Cairney (£5.5m) drops to the bench to allow André-Franck Zambo Anguissa (£4.5m) to pair with Harrison Reed (£4.5m) in holding midfield while Alphonse Areola (£4.5m) replaces Marek Rodák (£4.5m) in goal.

Leeds United XI: Meslier; Dallas, Cooper, Koch, Ayling; Phillips; Harrison, Hernández, Klich, Costa; Bamford.

                    No, because it's not always easier against newly-promoted teams. Wolves were a newly-promoted team a few years ago. Sheffield last year.

                    Pens have a 78% chance of going in from an average player. From open play, it depends on the angle and distance of the shot. Also, a player can play shite the whole game and his team can win him a penalty and he'll get easy points. WC Fantasy did it. It was 3 or 2 pts for a penalty, not sure.

                      it's also not 'always easier' to score a pen, think open net tap in - surely easier than a pen but would give the fantasy player more points than a pen by your logic. My point is you can't have variable scoring for the same action otherwise the waters a murky especially considering you can have a standard scoring system per every action which not only makes it easy to keep track of but has less controversy.

                        Yes, but the open net tap-in can happen sometimes from open play whereas a pen ALWAYS has a 78% chance of going in which is usually the highest xG of any shot in a game.

                          We can't have the scoring based on 'usually' or 78%. It would be incredibly difficult to make a variable scoring system that is consistent. Look at VAR, it is supposed to be a guarantee but it comes with so much controversy because it is still subjective. Can't imagine having a scoring system based on subjectivity.

                            Maybe I shouldn't have used "usually". Pens almost always have the highest xG. Literally, the only possible shot that may have higher is a tap-in from point blank like you said, and even that I'm not sure about the xG for it.

                            Your views are fair too. The game is simpler this way and simple is good. But take a player like Jorginho or Noble, for instance. They can do nothing all game and get a hattrick of penalties. If a manager picks them, it's not really skill. If anything, they've picked a bad FPL player and gotten rewarded for it. Also, penalties are an easy source of points that are unpredictable in a game of probabilities. You can't predict penalties based on form or fixtures. They happen randomly regardless of form or fixtures. So they're just a lottery.

          Got Meslier and Ayling (plus Klich) because I reckoned Leeds can defend decently. To be fair, the pen was a bit of a freak, and they've otherwise kept Fulham at bay.

                They dont look great defensively, I just brought in Ayling for Vinagre. Him and Dallas getting forward enough to provide some comfort, but if Brighton show so resilience it is an easy swap out for me for Lamptey in a few weeks time.

                Had originally had him in for the first 4 games, with the intention of jumping on to Wilson/Batman etc thereafter.
                But potentially his value is just too good and might be worth holding. Then again, he will not be playing Sp*rs and West Brom everyweek...
