£4.0m FPL defender Dunne makes first Premier League start in Tarkowski absence

The last of four Premier League matches to take place on Sunday is the late kick-off at the King Power Stadium, with Burnley the visitors to Leicester.

Play gets underway at 19:00 BST.

Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) is the most-owned player on show in this game, with almost one in four Fantasy Premier League managers owning the Leicester City striker.

He is part of an unchanged starting XI, with James Maddison (£7.0m) again having to be content with a place on the bench.

After blanking in Gameweek 1, Burnley finally get their 2020/21 league campaign off and running.

As was the case at the end of last season, the Clarets are down to the bare bones.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.5m) picked up an injury in midweek, joining Ashley Barnes (£6.0m), Ben Mee (£5.0m) and Jack Cork (£5.0m) on the sidelines.

James Tarkowski (£5.5m) has also failed to recover from a “bruised toe”, so budget FPL defender Jimmy Dunne (£4.0m) is handed his first-ever Premier League start.

Robbie Brady (£5.0m), rather than an ‘out of position’ Erik Pieters (£4.5m), gets the nod in Gudmundsson’s absence.

Nick Pope (£5.5m), the leading FPL points-scorer among goalkeepers last season, is between the posts and is the only Burnley asset who boasts a double-digit ownership.

No goalkeeper kept more clean sheets away from home than Pope (seven) in 2019/20, although six of them came against clubs who finished in the bottom half.

Vardy registered 17 attacking returns at home last season, which no other FPL forward could top.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Castagne, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Justin, Mendy, Ayoze Pérez, Tielemans, Praet, Barnes, Vardy.

Burnley XI: Pope, Bardsley, Long, Dunne, Taylor, Brady, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil, Wood, Rodríguez.

Depends if Rodgers keeps his 4-1-4-1

He has been looking at 5 at the back as Justin can play in a back 3 with Castagne switching to left when Ricardo comes back

2 FTs - planning Auba to KDB. Anything else you'd do here with the other FT (0.5 ITB)?

Bissouma has a red card but you already have Soucek, so I don't know of there's any other 5.0 or below options worth actually considering.

Soucek to Klich if you think Leeds keeps getting penalties?

      1. ryacoo
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Might just stick with Soucek for a couple more weeks and then WC I guess.

Podence intrigues me at 5.5 but seems they've signed a new RWB who will allow Traore to play further forward now, so might not be as nailed.

        1. Karhumies
          • 11 Years

If you are not happy with Soucek/West Ham and their fixtures, you could have him 1st on bench and gamble on extra defender CS using 433. This GW was a goalfest but on a normal GW it might work out.

I like the look of Soucek - think he's got a random goal in him, so not too worried about the fixtures actually. But yeah, a shift in formation might be worth considering if his goal doesn't come soon.

McCarthy + KWP double up could use a long term upgrade. Saiss? Ryan? Not sure.

If MCity starts with a BANG, that WC might come earlier than you think. Better have a template ready. I guess with Aguero out, if Jesus suddenly becomes a clinical finisher we might all be in trouble.

Downgrade Ings (Wood? Antonio? Mitrovic?) and inject the cash into your defense. Justin->Castagne +1M and Dunne to 5.0 (Egan, Coleman?) or at least 4.5 (Taylor, Lewis, KWP?) would go a long way.

I can't believe Maximus Bonimus hasn't been on, waxing lyrical with his Salah away theory.

Completely missed Bissouma got sent off and won’t be available for three GWs

To make you all feel better.
Pre GW team with planned transfer 93pts. Actual GW score with Mahrez still to play 39pts - 57pt swing. Decent. Why oh why did I WC. I can’t control myself

WC team 54+ 2 more to play
              old team 62ish all in....

I'm with you - I have no control.
Now, how many -4s to repair the situation?

Downgrading Taa -> Vvd could work.

Could get Castagne instead Justin or Foden instead of Podence etc.

My thinking as well. It just feels wrong losing TAA though??

Huge risk to ship. Scored the same amount of points as golden boot winner last season so then looks good value at 7.5m when compared to cost of high end forward

Once Ricardo returns for Leicester, Justin is going to Real Madrid

            TAA Digne Lamptey (Ayling Mitchell)

            KDB Aubameyang Alli ASM (Bissouma)

            Vardy DCL Adams

Probably yes considering the amount of injury/rotation issues with Alli, ASM, Lamptey and the like.

Would you WC this lot ? Just 1 FT. Affraid Mccarthy will be dropped. Want to remove Auba and ASM. Shaw & Davies not delivering. Will probably keep Werner for now.

            Mccarthy ( Button )

            TAA - Shaw - Davies ( Justin, Mitchell )

            Salah - Auba - Son - ASM ( Bissouma )

            Werner - DCL - Mitro

I mean it's not a needed wildcard, but if you nail who you get in of course you can outscore this team

              Aubameyang + ASM - - - > Son + Zaha (-4)
