Pondering a Salah - Mane - KDB all out attack

Prefer to add Sterling over Mane, how are you fitting that in?

I think the Thiago signing may tip the balancd in favour of the Pool duo over Sterling.

Few combos. The big compromise is playing Mitchell every week, which I'm fine with

    I can't seem to manage a team I am happy with that includes all 6 of them, so who is the one to leave in your opinion;

    A. Sterling/KDB
    B. Salah/Mane
    C. Werner
    D. Son
    E. Jimenez
    F. TAA/Robbo

At this stage I am thinking sacrifice Werner for Ings which makes things do-able

I'm not gonna do it. Werner scores in doubles. If he scores, he'll get like a brace or better. Chelsea's attack was the 2nd best in the entire league for xG last season. 2nd best behind only City. Two difficult games isn't gonna deter me. He stays. If they look really average against wba maybe I will sell but I think I have to give him this game.

Yeah it is a scary thought and he's a quality player, but Ings is also no slouch.

I think out of all of the options Werner to Ings for the 1mil is the smallest downgrade in quality, but I could be very wrong.

    5. One More Hit

If I could make changes I'd honestly prioritise the midfielders over the strikers, so lose Werner.

That extra point for a goal is why lots of us have gravitated towards Aubameyang, and why people have kept Salah/Mane.
Work on the basis that Chelsea are looking like sharing the goals around too.

Son over Bruno Fernandes is looking a good option (though I guess that's due to the emotive swing one fantastic/poor game each can bring), but if Bale can stay fit, I'd happily have either Bale or Son.

Maybe go with C and change to E after this GW. Jimenez fixture isn't bad either but WBA seemed terrible so far and West Ham did pretty well against Arsenal.

E is probably the answer, Jimenez is not as explosive and you can easily switch to him from Werner after the WBA match

    Has Davies lost his place?

I’m very tempted to get Podence... but would rather play Davies this week and get Podence next week instead of losing 4 pts for a hit.

Also any news on how many games is Marçal likely to miss?

Some RMT numbers over the first half of the season (wk3 -19). Take it with a pinch of salt but i find them insightful nonetheless.

    TAA - 77 - 10.23
    Robbo - 70 - 10.02

    Pogba - 74 - 9.26
    Barnes - 62 - 8.88

We have almost the same team (I have KWP, Taylor, Davies, Soucek, Brewster to your Justin, Egan, Holding, Bissouma, Adams) and I did the same moves last night!

I am wavering but think that sitting tight on the WC is the most sensible move. This GW could easily be filled with a totally new set of bandwagons and this feels very early to waste the WC.

    What are your thoughts / strategy towards price drops so early in the season;

    I've had a rough start - 100 points total,

ASM, Doherty, Werner all look like falling, and some of the players I wanted to replace them with are looking like rising.

Would you WC to prevent losing value and potentially 0.2 swings (e.g ASM and Podence)?

    1. Rasping Drive
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 14 Years

I wouldn’t base the decision on TV, rather base it on who is in form (or from a stats perspective may be coming into form) and who has the best upcoming fixtures. And how many of those players you currently have.

    2. Goonsquad245
      • 8 Years
      3 years, 7 months ago

It’s important - if your transfer is a clear upgrade, a double price change could make it worth bringing forward and doing a -4 that week rather than next.

Also saves you a transfer down the line

Rodriguez over DCL could work out given that's he's a mid but it's a close call.

Werner & Jesus are equally good at this point I reckon.

I'd love to have Werner and Jesus, however it's calls for a sacrifice when Jimenez is also present. Rodriguez vs DCL vs Rich is a real dilemma.

I thought you said you didn't want Salah?

I think Rodriguez is not as good as either of the Everton assets. Just went back into the stats from the WBA game, his average position is pretty deep, he had one penalty area touch, and just one shot (that he scored from outside the box). For 7.5m I think you can do better although if he's on penalties, that changes things.

      1. Flair
        • 3 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

Salah -> Sterling and Jesus -> Werner is still an option, undecided on the Salah dilemma.

That's strong information, thank you. My thoughts on Rodriguez are that he's a world class midfielder that continually puts up brilliant stats and should be on penalties. I prefer him over DCL but not Rich, however that's important food for thought. He can also be upgraded to a Chelsea MID like Pulisic though, hmm.

      It's good.

Saiss over Vinagre for sure. Not a fan of Zaha. Prefer Foden or even Barnes.

Not much to critique really. It's preference on who is priority. For me, DCL and Son are not optional. They are to me, clearly the two best value players in the game, and so they are in and then I build around that.

Just because Martinez saved a pen doesn't mean he's suddenly a good pick

I am afraid there are no other standout options for GK at this point especially at 4.5

Pen save irrelevant. He's the best keeper at 4.5. Ryan the only competitor

I remember reading some stats on Werner that he’d scored some stupid amount of goals against the bottom clubs in Germany compared to V the top sides - hopefully bodes well for owners this weekend

I'm thinking about going without Salah on my WC, and getting him back after the next 3 games. Is that too risky?
