Still hanging onto Martial - this GW is his last chance.

Saying that .... if I was hitting the WC, I would still try to keep in 1 - maybe Greenwood or Rash

Not flavour of the week because they didn’t score points in the 90 minutes they’ve played so far this season.

They aren’t as good as they made themselves out to be during restart (IMO), but the narrative has swung dramatically.

It’s not just about scoring points, they played awful which is more concerning.

In one game. The clamour to sell their assets before Brighton is madness.

Very interested to see the stats once the deadline passes of what % of people have actually played their WC.

Coming on here you’d think that I’m in the minority wanting to hang onto it past GW3 - seems crazy!

That said... I want to change half my team so the temptation is strong!

In the same boat. Temptation is strong but I'd rather wait for more information and until the transfer window is closed. Almost certain to WC in GW5 tho.

Given how different GW1 and GW2 were, I wouldn't be too comfortable making decisions based on that alone.

I'm thinking about it. I think Sterling will have more explosive games, KDB will tick away and probably outscore him.

The penalty thing with KDB could be big though. Should be on them for the full season – they won 11 last time around, second only to Manchester United.

Rather have a VVD for 6.5 who is nailed on and almost certain to hit 170+ score for the season.

Foden will blow hot and cold plus benching headache.

          Just comparing player to player.

I'll prefer to play for points rather than be stuck on a specific formation. Depending on the fixture, happy to go 5-3-2 or even 3-4-3. Think flexibility is the key and more so this season.

Annoyed I missed the KDB rise. I planned to do: Auba, ASM & Vardy -> KDB, Foden & Werner but now 0.1 off. Would you...

    (a) Just do Auba & Vardy -> KDB & Werner (no hit) ... means playing Soucek this week.
    (b) Do Auba, ASM & Vardy -> Sterling, Foden & Werner (-4)

    Hey!

I started a mini league at work, started gameweek2.
The leader has 83 (-8) points, and second place is on 82 points.

But that doesnt make sense? 83-8 = 75 points. So he should be second?
Does anyone know why this is?

I have no idea about leagues that start mid season honestly but could it be that it allows unlimited hits in the first GW to put everyone on a level playing filed? (I.e new joiners who essentially have a wildcard and those who already had a team in GW1?)

      1. Maddamotha
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

Nah it doesnt allow that. A few of my co-workers didnt start a team for gw1, so I went with the option of starting game week 2 to make it a bit more fair. Its true they got an advantage, as they basically had WC gw2.
But still doesnt make sense to me with the standings.

In his entire career Podence has only scored 6 goals in 68 appearances, and his underlying data for the first two weeks is crap.

But it's hard to imagine Podence not returning well in 'whu FUL lee NEW', right?!

I mean he did nutmeg KDB...

    1. KGFC

      I'd say value-wise @5.5 he is a better pick than Foden @6.5.

I think you are missing the point here.

I'm not saying Foden is not good. But for 1.0mn more, he is less nailed to start. On the other hand, Podence looked great yesterday and with their upcoming fixtures, I think he'll do better than Foden.

Yeah but at the same time you also have to factor in potential to do what is most important - get involved with goals.

Foden does that. He's got a tremendous record for that even on limited minutes. I think he will score more points even if he does get the occasional benchings and cameos.

            1. KGFC
              • 7 Years
              3 years, 6 months ago

              Fair enough.

But just think for Wolves who have WHU(A), FUL(H), LEE(A) & NEW(H) as the next four, Podence will be a better bet versus Foden who has LEI(H), LEE(A), ARS(H) & WHU(A).

Its basically, the home matches for the two teams 🙂

I think we are all getting a bit excited here by the price and fixtures. For me Harvey Barnes is a greater priority next GW

I think Zaha can match that. Would make him even better if he now has pens too (though unlikely).

He looked lively, plays for Wolves who have great fixtures and most importantly costs 5.5m

Interestingly - he has started a total of 7 games for Wolves (5x PL, 2x EL)

He's managed to accumulate 1G 5A in those 7 starts

And to be honest every time i've watched him (maybe 4 or 5 of those 7 starts) he's always stood out as a little pain the arse attacker/nightmare to play against with the pace, strength & low centre of gravity

Can easily envisage a world where he starts next season as a 7.5 (or more) - 5.5 looks wrong from where we're currently sitting

Wolves are not settled in transfer window. Could be replaced by next 2 weeks. Nuno loves to rotate flanks player usually.

Yep - Plus they sign Semedo/Dest then that potentially frees Traore up for a forward role though which is an extra body & one of Neto/Podence/Traore gets benched every week

Plus all those other multiple random FM-Regen types they seem to have padded their attack out with - Vitor Ferreira (20), Fabio Silva (18), Leo Bonatini (lol), Leonardo Campana (20) - I don't really know who a lot of these people are, but there's a lot of bodies there

But Podence definitely has always looked very handy in the 4 or 5 games I've seen him play & Nuno obviously headhunted him for his system too

      JRod --> Podence

How’s the WC looking? Any changes needed?

    Martinez (Steer)
    Robbo, Saiss, Taylor (Justin, Mitchell)
    Salah, KDB, Son, Podence, Zaha
    Jiménez, DCL (Bamford)?

Sterling at 5.4%, Foden at 5.2%, Jesus at 2.8%, Podence at 2.3%, don't use ownership stats to make my decisions but I expect all of these to significantly increase soon!

I don't get Podence love. Even Jota didn't much love here last season. Every man and his dog know it's got to be Jiminez for Wolves att. Maybe Traore at some point. Rarely Jota.

He was injured and returned last week. Could see random benching for James as Azpi is still playing at highest levels.

Azpi isn't what he once was and James and Chilwell will be key parts of Lampard's attacking set up this season. But yes, won't be completely surprised to see the odd benching of James for Azpi.

Azpi getting the full 90 mins vs Barnsley this week and James not playing much will say a lot.

    Last decision on the WC...

Leaning towards A) with Foden but I’m aware he’s a rotation risk.

Morning all. Any thoughts on this WC? 0.0 ITB.

    Ryan (Button)
    Saiss - Taylor - Justin - Lamptey - Mitchell
    Salah - KDB - Son - Zaha - Anguisa
    Werner - DCL - Jimi

    Any thoughts?

I would prefer J Rodriguez to Zaha but 0.4 short.

    Ta!

Miles behind after 2 GWs. Is it worth pointing on KDB, Sterling & Foden on WC to make back some ground? All capable of big hauls.
