The latest content and updates from the Scout Network

It has been a busy week in the Scout Network as content creators around the world turn their attentions to Gameweek 3.

Every week, we bring you all the updates from those enlisted in the Scout Network and Scout Academy.

This features anything you may have missed, as well as an in-depth look at one of the Scout Network’s key personnel.

Ahead of Gameweek 3, the spotlight falls on a recent addition to the network: Mini League Mate.

SCOUT NETWORK

We Are Brighton

We Are Brighton’s partnership with Fantasy Football Scout has been working wonders this season. After tipping Leandro Trossard (£6.0m) and Tariq Lamptey (£4.5m) ahead of their attacking involvements in the Seagulls’ Gameweek 1 defeat to Chelsea, their key Brighton assets for Gameweek 2 were Lewis Dunk (£5.0m) and Adam Webster (£4.5m). The two centre-backs both kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win at Newcastle, Dunk stealing a bonus point too. There will be a new FFS Brighton article over on the We Are Brighton website ahead of every Gameweek this season.

FPLNymfria

Nymfria featured on Glen Kightley’s YouTube Channel – Everything Arsenal.  She celebrated passing 4,000 subscribers on YouTube last week. Nymfria will be live again on Thursday with her Dream Team Stream, and will host the next FPL Wildcats stream, which features FPL Dave.

FPL Family

The FPL Family broke their record for most-watched live stream last weekend, which has so far been viewed over 32,000 times. They have also been recording episodes of Sam v Lee – The Points Predictor, for the FFScout YouTube channel again. Each week they each choose a defender, midfielder and forward to see which will return the most points. This season one of them will pick a team of highly owned (over 10%) players each round and the other a team of differentials (under 10%).

Ted Talks FPL

Ted has updated his fixture difficulty charts and investigated average positions of a number of key players

El Statto

This week El Statto launched a new partnership with stats provider FPLDackel which has enabled him to update his website.

Fantasy Chat with Karam Tayser

Fantasy Chat reached a new milestone of 2,500 YouTube subscribers last week, excellent growth in its first three weeks.

FPL Take The Hit

Mick and Joff have been busy discussing whether or not to take hits this week as Wildcards loom large for the Fantasy community.

SCOUT ACADEMY

The boys at Americans Talk FPL officially joined Twitter this week. They also added a Player Spotlight section to their weekly videos to enable them to dive deeper in to their top watchlist players.

David from FPL In The Dug Out collaborated with Sam Bonfield on the role of the Dream Team in FPL, which has now had over 5,000 views. Much like American’s Talk FPL, FPL In The Dugout also launched their twitter platform

Meanwhile FPL Talkings Points have just launched a new interactive map feature on their website so that FPL players from around the world can connect with content creators near them geographically. This map will include the content from members of the Scout Academy and the Scout Network.

Spotlight: Mini League Mate

Mini League Mate is a service that focuses on one of the most important parts of FPL: winning your Mini Leagues!

Mini League Mate gives a weekly data update on your leagues, including points scored and other key developments.

This service is divided in to two parts. Firstly the ‘Deadline Day’ mail. This is an email sent straight after the Gameweek deadline passes and ahead of kick-off in the opening fixture of the round.

The mail allows you to see exactly how each member of your Mini League has lined up for the Gameweek, including information on the most transferred-in and transferred-out options, most captained and average starting XI/formation.

At the end of the Gameweek’s final match, Mini League Mate then emails out ‘The Dossier’, a stat-packed breakdown featuring whose captain picks came off, whose did not, and how to plot through subsequent rounds.

The Dossier also contains charts and statistics such as:

  • Leaderboard Deep Dive
  • Mini-League vs the world
  • Points breakdown
  • Manager of the week
  • Biggest riser and faller
  • Best players in the league this Gameweek
  • Best and worst transfers made
  • Bandwagons
  • Squad value tracker
  • Chip tracker
  • Mini League template team and more

One of the great things about Mini League Mate is not everyone needs to sign up. The Deadline Day mail and The Dossier can be shared throughout the league via email, social media, messaging services. Alternatively, you can keep this detailed information to yourself.

If you have a cool tool that you’d like to share with the world, a social or video channel that you’d like to work with us to grow and monetise, some amazing tech skills you’d like to contribute, or just some great insight that you need to share, we want to hear from you!

On wildcard. Digne, Saiss, Salah or Robbo, VVD and Rashford? Already have TAA if that matters.

It's the defense you want anyway not the offense. I think I'd rather have Boly than Podence.

Sh*t yeah I do. I’m kind of glad I didn’t do it because I brought Salah in instead and captained him for his hat trick but I do like the idea of it going forward.

    Assuming Lamptey is okay,

    Rotating with KWP gives this:

    Bur

    Palace
    Wba

    Villa

Yeah KWP has been raking up the points even when losing clean sheets

4 points in 2 games isn't exactly raking up the points though, at least not more than any playing fodder does.

Yeah but Southampton defense is dire. Will think about it... Maybe Burnley with their lack of a pacy forward won't be able to get much.

Looking at replacing B.Davies and Soucek after this GW - replacing them with Maguire & Neto/Podence....

Got 0.5m in the bank, so 10.5m to split between those 2 positions, any other viable pairings with decent fixtures upcoming?

    1. The Knights Template

I'd like to think Soucek is more nailed than this week's toy, Podence. And better goal threat?

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I agree Soucek is a better goal threat in general, however with West Ham's next 4 fixtures - Lei, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool (ouch!) compared to Wolves - Ful (h), Leeds (a), New (h), Palace (h) (!!) I can see any West Ham player as a viable asset even on the bench.
I'm edging towards Neto over Podence purely on the basis that the Semedo signing will push Traore from RWB to RW and therefore one of Podence or Neto will lose there place... personally I think that will be Podence as Nuno has generally favoured Neto.

What potentially stupid transfers are you considering for a hit? This early in the season it's so easy to take hits to jump on bandwagons or transfer out underperformers (based on tiny sample size). So rather than rage transfer and take a hit. Release your frustrations on this post:

    Mine:
    Fernandes > KDB
    Adams > Jesus
    Davies > Anyone

All potential transfers for next week, all 3 on the bench this week anyway. Must....stop...itchy....trigger...

I'm looking at Ryan > Martinez too. I can't see there ever being a week when I don't need to make an outfield transfer, so an early hit for the right GK should pay off presuming WC isn't played til Christmas, so you have 15 or so GW's to recover the -4.

You basically have to decide if Foden + 4.5m forward score more than 6.0m forward (e.g. Mitro) + 5.0m mid (e.g. Soucek)

Not normally one to push out a RMT but as its a wildcard I’d like to see what you prefer:

    A
    Martinez Steer
    Robbo Saiss James Mitchel Lamptey
    Salah KDB Sterling Pod Alzate
    DCL Jimi Brewster

    B
    Martinez Steer
    Robbo TAA Saiss Vinagre Mitchel
    KDB Sterling JRod (8.4?) Alzate
    DCL Jimi Brewster

Option B obviously has some movement in it with funds.

    Open to any opinions. Cheers.

    Our current best XI:

    Sterling - Jesus - Foden
    KDB
    Rodri - Ferna
    Mendy - Ake - Stones - Walker
    Ederson

    Bench: Bravo, Ota, Torres, Mahrez

Absolute barebones, but represents a very good opportunity for Foden and surely less rotation for Raz. Mahrez's 0 starts in his last 6 are not a good look for him.

Not seeing Greenwood in a lot of WC drafts. Granted, they looked awful at the weekend, but after the restart were probably the most exciting and attacking side in the league, and surely Greenwood starts ahead of the useless James after Saturday's debacle. I thought he looked excellent value when prices were released, and IMO that certainly stands with Sancho seemingly a no-go for this season.

But they looked shocking last week, and that's how WC teams are put together. People like to get form players rising in price. He will have to perform something special to change that.

Pep: "Garcia had 16 stitches, that’s why he could not be here, but I think maybe for the next game or the other ones, he will be fit. The rest, I think, after the international break, Joao [Cancelo], Bernardo, Oleks [Zinchenko]. Sergio [Aguero], a bit longer."

    Is that's Foden's music I hear?

I don't think Bernardo is a major threat to Foden's minutes, he'll probably be used in midfield with David Silva gone. Mahrez is the biggest risk and he was in squad so he is probably fit enough to play.

For GW4 (already made GW3 transfer):

Martial & Bissouma to Son & Brewster or
Wilson & Bissouma to Foden & Brewster

Have Jiménez and Saïss, do I triple up and go with Podence or go with Klich?

Triple Wolves is decent imo. Podence played well so I'd pick him over Klich

Think it’s the pens for Klich that we’re appealing for me

    Mccarthy/Button
    Justin/TAA/Ayling/Buur/Ferguson
    Salah/Aubameyang/Son/Cavaleiro/Bissouma
    Mitrović/Werner/Ings
    0m in bank

I had very 2 solid weeks i am on 151 pts. But i did stupid move this week with panic sell of Saint Maximin after his injury and i bought Cavaliero if i can take back time i wouldnt made transfer or atleast get Prodence not Cavaliero but it is what it is. My main problem is defense, cause i have Buur and Ferguson and Buur played 15 minutes in 2 games so far and Ferguson is still out cause of injury, very bad move on start with my bench, goalkeeper also but somehow i guess i will prevail with mccarthy until week 8-9 when i plan to use my wildcard. But until then i need to solve problem with my defense, allready this week i am using Justin vs City, not great but it is what it is, i am trying to solve defense problem for next week. Justin and TAA are pretty much playable througgh week 8-9 not tough schedule, but Ayling playing next week vs City i definitely want to solve that problem for next week i will probably take -4 hits but i am not sure how. I am thinking if i change Werner for Jimenez i will get 1 extra M and i can take for example Saiss over Ayling then or Reece James, i was thinking about Castagne but his price rised. So my question is what to do for next week i need some defender with good schedule for next 5-6 weeks before my WC.

Werner, Ayling out for: Jimenez - Saiss, Jimenez - Reece James, or some other combo would be smart to do, this two are first that i can think of, maybe somebody have different idea or should i do one of these? Is James gonna be starter all time if yes maybe that would be correct move, since he play in attack a lot?

I know Southampton are considered defensive bedwetters, but their total shots conceded stats are actually oddly good from the first two games. They have just 14 shots conceded, the 2nd best in the league other than Liverpool out of teams that have played two games.

Their xGC is high, but that's because they've conceded 7 big chances which is the 2nd worst.

Basically, if McCarthy was a good keeper/Son was a Bamford level finisher, they might actually not be down so many goals.

    KWP back on the table?

Not in the slightest. Giving away the 2nd least shots in the league is worthless when every time the opposition is shooting, it's because they're one on one with the keeper. The high line needs to be tweaked or more effective before I go near that defense.

A carabao is a water buffalo from the Philippines. I dont know why it is an energy drink from Thailand. Last thing I want is the pip and verve of a carabao! Man U playing like carabaos.

Ah ok pretty sure you're biased against United so not worth talking to you about it. U don't have to get him its okay. I was just telling u what he did since u asked.

I will be the first to get the firing Man U asset, but you are correct I am a bit biased against them. Particularly their abject failure to live up to the pre-season hype (whoops, I did it again).

    Martinez (Steer)
    Trent - Saiss - C Taylor (Lamptey & Mitchell)
Salah - KDB - Son - Podence (Alzate)
    Werner - Wood - DCL

Good to go for this week?

Then plans going forward would be, Son > Foden & Wood > Jimmy, yay or nay?

I see a lot of people have Salah, KDB, TAA and Son in their teams. I'm guessing the sacrifice here is Werner, who could easily score against West Brom that could be a big mistake

No Podence, no WC and no hits, yet. My biggest concern right now is no attackers from Wolves and Davies. Might have to take a hit next week to sort that out.
