Fantasy5

Back your Fantasy know-how for the chance to win £10k with free-to-play game

Sponsored by Fantasy5

There are a lot of Fantasy games out there at present but how many will let you enter a team for free and still offer a substantial weekly cash prize?

Fantasy5 does just that.

The easy-to-play Fantasy game uses a familiar, FPL-style scoring system and comes with the incentive of a whopping £10,000 prize every week.

Best of all, it won’t cost you a penny to get involved.

How to Play

The rules are simple: enter a team by picking one player from each of the five nominated fixtures each Gameweek and, if they all exceed their ‘points target’ for that match, you’ll be taking home all – or at the very least a share – of the money.

There is no budget in Fantasy5 – if you wanted a team packed full of the big names, then you’re free to do so.

Naturally, the so-called “better” players will have a higher points target and Fantasy5‘s projections are a good indicator as to who is expected to perform well on any given matchday.

For example, this weekend, Kevin De Bruyne will have to score in excess of 12.5 points in Manchester City’s clash with Leicester City if the Belgian is to help you on the way to the jackpot.

James Rodriguez will only have to better his points target of 8.5 against Crystal Palace, meanwhile, and a clean sheet should see Ben White over his more modest projection of 5.5 against Manchester United.

Fantasy5 are the fastest media outlet for live Fantasy points, displaying all player points from the five games in question as well as the live score and time – as shown in the above image.

The competition is limited to one entry per person per round and selections must be submitted before kick-off of the first eligible match.

If two or more entrants correctly select five players who all score more than their points target, then the prize pot is split among all winners.

For a full list of the terms and conditions, click here.

Scoring System

If you know anything about Fantasy Premier League, the Fantasy5 scoring system is easy.

Quite simply, it’s FPL without the bonus points.

For newcomers, players gain – and lose – points in Fantasy5 through the following outcomes:

ActionPoints scored
Playing up to 60 minutes1
Playing more than 60 minutes2
Each goal scored by a goalkeeper/defender6
Each goal scored by a midfielder5
Each goal scored by a forward4
Each assist3
Clean sheet by a goalkeeper/defender (must play 60+ mins)4
Clean sheet by a midfielder (must play 60+ mins)1
Every three shots saved by a goalkeeper1
A penalty save by a goalkeeper5
Missing a penalty-2
Every two goals conceded by a goalkeeper/defender-1
Yellow card-1
Red card-3
Scoring an own-goal-2

Our very own Andy and Gianni have had a go at picking five players for this weekend’s round of Fantasy5 fixtures – you can see who they plumped for below:

    Captaincy GW3

For the people who are putting the armband on Chelsea assets, do watch the WBA home game against Lei.

Albeit the score, of which majority came from Pens, they crowded the striker and stopped a lot of Barnes attempt, which was a surprise. In the championship, at home they were more open and just attacking which wasn't the case.

Although the Chelsea attack has more pace, I still think just based on Def, KDB against an incomplete Lei defense would be a better bet. Further WBA are very weak defending their long flanks, James could get in some attacking returns if he plays, which would still be a plus for Werner.

So far the standouts are KDB and Werner, while a Salah punt can be a good gamble, against Arsenal at home. Klopp surely would want his best attack after the CS loss, and Salah (just purely on form) has been looking like a sharp beast for the past 2 GWs.

For me, I would be putting my armband on KDB against Lei.

the Salah thing was a relative differential, compare to the the rest of options that's it, not in a general punt sense haha

Fair enough Flair, but just on the last game against Wolves and KDB playing the "10" it is just a very huge upside for him giving a haul, and I think, although it's me, Foden (last game) looked the most attacking of all City attacks. If I would be investing in more City, Foden would be my target. Although the Ideal is Sterling KDB Foden.

From a captain POV, Sterling has his haul in him for sure, but for more as long as KDB plays that "10" he's the standout for me in City

        1. Flair

My main issue is whether KDB will be a #10 or not, it's possible but I believe Foden will partner him as an 8.

so I've read an interview of him where he said that he's quite happy with the "new" role he would be playing in City given to him by Pep, and he thinks that he can make the most of it. I forgot where it was was, mostly on One Football. And given the last game, I take it the role being the traditional "10"

It isn't a new role, he played it against Lyon, Arsenal, Liverpool and Madrid last year. He plays that role against bigger teams, which Leicester are not.

He played it against Wolves, do you think Lei aren't a big club compared to Wolves?

Pep certainly doesn't think so, last time he played Leicester at home the midfield was Gundo-Bernardo-KDB. Wolves are a much bigger threat to City than Leicester.

                This.
                Foden can't be RW.
Mahrez was one of Pep's most important players last season.

Foden and KdB as 8's and Mahrez on the RW is easily possible.

"Foden can't be RW" - I don't know about that, Foden has played in the from 3 rather than in midfield for all of his last 13 league appearances.

Mahrez is weird, he was important to Pep, up until about the brighton match. Since then he has played the following minutes:

                  13
                  26
                  45
                  0
                  34
                  0

Foden played in midfield vs Newcastle in the FA Cup, but I agree. Mahrez seems to have lost favor from what I've heard from fellow City fans. Certainly improves Foden's appeal greatly, and I like the idea of KDB at #10 vs Leicester too.

              Watch his post match interview
He mentioned that he thinks pep played him as a 10 against a 5ATB and wouldn't continue against 4ATB.
He also mentioned that the attacking role of Dilva will be taken up by Foden/Bilva and not him.

The feature we used to use underwent some structural/pricing changes last week so we are using GoogleForms as a stop-gap/test in the interim while we sort out what to do long-term.

It is possible to see the current state of the poll by clicking on See Previous Submissions after voting, and then hovering over the players' colours on the pie-chart.

The current leaders are De Bruyne 19.2%, Werner 16.7%, Salah 11.6% and Son 11.2%, but these may have been skewed by multiple voting.

We'll be returning to the old form for next week.

Thanks everyone. I think as someone who isn't going to be required in a 3-4-3, then it's safer to go with minutes as I am keeping two 4.5 defenders on the bench to fill the first two substitute positions. So on balance I think Bissouma is the way to go here. Thanks for your input all.

Havertz has 4 goals (1 from penalty) and 3 assists in 25 games while playing AMC last season.

His forward stats are heavily distorting his attacking returns. His RW stats are also better than his AMC stats.

I'd agree normally, but Saiss is playing very aggressively. It's kinda like Sheffield United with their overlapping CBs. Seeing Saiss hit the post from open play from a shot in the box was very scary. He could have had a 21 point haul if that had gone in.

How aggressively did he play in the City game? Genuine question, I'd consider the double up. Entered the box like one time outside of the shot in the Sheffield game IIRC.

    Martinez - Button
    Saiss - Taylor - Lamptey - Ayling - Mitchell
    Salah - KDB - Son - Podence - Burke
    Jesus - Jimenez - Ings

Plan is TAA and Maupay in he 6 for Ayling and Jesus. And then keep that cheap striker(Wilson/Mitro/Antonio/Maupay) spot for whoever is playing Fulham/WBA/Leeds etc.

It's between Havertz and KdB for me. Am I crazy enough to do it? I've never been too rogue with captaincy in the past but it feels like an opportunity. Leicester are a strong side with good momentum and Arsenal are also much more disciplined. This feels like a good week to maybe try something.

On a WC, would you have:

    A. TAA + James
    B. VVD + Havertz (bear with me, it has nothing to do with the fact he scored 3 against Barnsley, 2 good fixtures and gives me the option to have any of the 3 Chelsea mids once a standout option appears)

If I commit to A, the only Chelsea mid I could stretch to in the future is Ziyech.

I don't like VvD as Liverpool defense cover. If you're getting him, you may as well get Boly or Semedo. You buy Robertson and TAA because they get attacking returns like a midfielder.

If you go by this logic, everyone should have triple Pool defense. All of them average like 190 points per season at sub 8.0m price for unparalleled value.

But I don't think it's popular because their fixtures and post restart stats don't suggest that they will keep like 6 clean sheets in a row.

And VVD gets way more CS than Boly/Semedo and bangs in 4-5 goals a season.
Has scored approximately equal points to Robertson past two season

I don't think he will get more CSs than Boly/Semedo over the next 7 gameweeks.

I have Werner, but I am tempted to do Werner to Jesus after the WBA game. As much as I don't like planning transfers...

Why does having Werner change how many points these 4 are scoring?

          None.
I was assuming in option A he had the Chelsea striker.
And I prefer him over Havertz.

    Ramsdale Steer
    TAA Justin KWP Mitchell Taylor
    Salah Sterling Son Bisso Romeu
    Vardy Werner Davis

    1ft, 0.5 itb

Already done Auba to Sterling few days ago with my one ft. Keeping Son and keeping faith in Werner so unfortunately still no Utd for me. Any ideas how I can upgrade squad with that 0.5 itb or better to hold ft?

Might help them! The players will be able to Ignore Moyes easier!
Even before this news I was amazed that there is not more talk of Jimenez Captain.

Jimenez is on my VC. KDB is my captain too good to ignore against leaky Leicester.

KDB rises in price so I decide to do the Auba to KDB transfer after the cup game today... to find out that Auba has now dropped in price.

What a smart way to lose 0.2 in team value...
