Pro Pundits - Darren

Why I’m lining up for FPL Gameweek 3 without any Chelsea players

A Fantasy Premier League veteran of 11 years, Darren Wiles has an incredible track record with three top 1k finishes in the last four seasons.

With so many favourable match-ups in Gameweek 3, I am feeling confident about the next round of Fantasy Premier League.

It has been a positive start thus far, anyway, with 80 and 90-point hauls in the first two Gameweeks taking me to a total of 170 and an overall rank of 29k.

The goals have been flying in so far and I have been lucky enough to capitalise on the early glut of double-digit returns. But all of that is in the past, and it’s what happens this weekend that matters now.

Here is what my team looks like for Gameweek 3 and the reasons behind some key decisions.

    One last time:

    What's the better way to trim .5 from my DEF?

    A) Tierney-> 5.0 (Coady?)
    B) Egan->4.5 (Lamptey?)

    Other suggestions at those pricepoints welcome...

    Cheers.

    Thoughts on the Werner vs. KDB captaincy debate? For me, they are clearly the best two options. Werner with the better fixture but playing away, De Bruyne with a harder fixture but playing at home. I'm not sure whether Jesus being out makes a big difference or not - maybe it guarantees KDB playing an attacking role?

      If tammy starts and Werner out wide I'm not sure if helps Timo. It could do as space might be there for him or Havertz to attack

        Yes it's a really tough choice. I think I will go with KDB because there are less doubts. I think he is the risk-averse choice.

        Why do you think Tammy might start as cf? Because of his performance in the league cup?
        Equally impressive was mount imo. Which makes it a selection conundrum for lamps.

        Werner did a lot of run ins vs Brighton and he was limited with opportunities against pool (not his fault). Was given a week rest too.

    Martinez
    Van Dijk, Chilwell, Semedo

        Risky not to have Salah I know (I am Reds fan too!) not sure how else to shoehorn him in. Plumped for Patricio because of Wolves run of games coming up - it's either him or a 4.5m but don't really fancy any of them.

      can't see more than 1 game where you'd bench Patricio over the next 10 so no need for Ryan

        • 11 Years

        Good shout but Wolves back-up keeper isn't 4.0m unfortunately so any pick would just be bench fodder.

      But bench fodder is fine. I’m probably cursing him here, but how often does a gk get injured or sent off?

        • 11 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

        Makes sense, and the extra 0.5 could be used to better effect elsewhere.

        Are Rodriguez, Jiminez, Digne sensible picks or should I downgrade them to get Salah?
