Pro Pundits - Darren

Why I’m lining up for FPL Gameweek 3 without any Chelsea players

A Fantasy Premier League veteran of 11 years, Darren Wiles has an incredible track record with three top 1k finishes in the last four seasons.

With so many favourable match-ups in Gameweek 3, I am feeling confident about the next round of Fantasy Premier League.

It has been a positive start thus far, anyway, with 80 and 90-point hauls in the first two Gameweeks taking me to a total of 170 and an overall rank of 29k.

The goals have been flying in so far and I have been lucky enough to capitalise on the early glut of double-digit returns. But all of that is in the past, and it’s what happens this weekend that matters now.

Here is what my team looks like for Gameweek 3 and the reasons behind some key decisions.

    The final decision.

    Over the next 3 GWs

    A) Saiss Reece James Salah

    B) TAA Robertson James Rodriguez

its not just 3 GWs for this - thats some serious structural difference you are baking in with that choice its more like for the next 17 GWs.

A is better. the 5m defenders offer more value than their liverpool counterparts. and you need captaincy options.

Well either way he’s probably benching that player, is just get Foden and try to squeeze in Werner

How can you have watched Podence last week and say that?

You must be able to 'get it' even if you disagree?

You can't have watched him and come away from the game thinking "why would anyone like him"?

I said I don’t get the hype, sure he looked okay, got into good positions lots of times, end product somewhat poor! Now he faces competition for his space since Traore is free from rwb.

Well, he plays on the left, so he doesn't really face competition does he?

Neto is the one who will be 'dropped' if anyone is?

He looked better than 'okay'. If he keeps getting in those positions, at 5.5m, he'll live up to the hype won't he?

The 'hype' around Reece James is based around him having some set pieces atm, good attacking threat and potential for their defence to improve with a new keeper and Thiago Silva.....

Neither are hard to understand 'the hype' - whether they pay off or not is debatable, but can you genuinely say you don't 'get it'?

Ancelotti is a fantastic manager, with a lovely attacking style - if 'double' Everton scares you, why is one okay, are you hoping they do well or not?

I love a double up....when the fixtures allow it....and for Everton they do?

Brighton haven't got the quality have they? If Man Utd beat them comfortably (which could easily happen) would you be scared of 2x Everton against them?

ASM not likely to play, so you'll be 5 at the back and unlikely to get a clean sheet from Mitchell or Justin.

I decided to hold off on the -4 for ASM > Podence in the hope he'd play. Could have been the wrong move. Will have to wait and see I guess.

Steve Bruce said today he's a doubt.... so I suppose.

I think even if ASM played he will get a saint-max of 2 points, so I'd take the hit in this instance, considering your bench isn't strong this week?

It also gives you a huge green arrow when they do keep a CS, and they have been really good on the underlying stats, despite Leeds scoring 3! That was an anomoly.

3 pool defs plus Kdb son foden podence werner jimi dcl.

Alternative is Salah for foden, mitro for Werner, and lamptey for robbo.

I can't decide how brave (or stupid) to be on the wc

Is there a reason why people on here prefer Podence to Klitch?

      Fixtures, underlying stats, better team.

The only thing Klich has that Podence doesn't have is penalties.

Klich is nailed, the other thing.

I'm very much with you here, I think Podence is a better pick than Klitch.

The penalties for Leeds isn't something that'd get me too excited. They're not creating anywhere near as much as their output suggests and it's not sustatinable.
