Pro Pundits - Darren

Why I’m lining up for FPL Gameweek 3 without any Chelsea players

A Fantasy Premier League veteran of 11 years, Darren Wiles has an incredible track record with three top 1k finishes in the last four seasons.

With so many favourable match-ups in Gameweek 3, I am feeling confident about the next round of Fantasy Premier League.

It has been a positive start thus far, anyway, with 80 and 90-point hauls in the first two Gameweeks taking me to a total of 170 and an overall rank of 29k.

The goals have been flying in so far and I have been lucky enough to capitalise on the early glut of double-digit returns. But all of that is in the past, and it’s what happens this weekend that matters now.

Here is what my team looks like for Gameweek 3 and the reasons behind some key decisions.

I am sure he scores, but would only do it if you captain. Long term at the moment Jimenez is mr reliable. I also am a Chelsea fan and I usually do not like owning our assets unless we are surefire pl title contenders like in the 14/15, 16/17 seasons.

Playing 3-5-2, which combo looks best on WC?

    1. Zaha & Foden (+0.3m)
    2. Rodriguez & Klich (+0.9m)

    1. Pavsboot
      • 9 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

'm on Barnes + Foden myself. Barnes stats are really, really nice and Foden for the next 3-4 with Cities outs looks great. But if Zaha/Rod are the only options I'd go 2.

      1. Lav
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

I could easily do Barnes. He is cheaper than Zaha & Rodriguez. Would give me 0.4m itb if paired with Foden. My worry is Leicester may be worse overall with no Ndidi now.

didn't want to WC and was able to reach my ideal team with hits, I know it's a high risk gamble, but then I thought, "hey, it's a free game, if I can't gamble here, it's going to be dull"

      It’s not bad.
It’s risky though. You probably get 3-4 more weeks at least from Justin. Mitchell maybe less. You need an exit plan for those 2 and if Ferguson doesn’t become an option there may not be one and you won’t have a bench. The front 7 looks amazing and Saiss and Lamptey look great picks too so hard to pick holes in the 11 right now. GL

Havertz, giving him the armband too. Looks great in the no. 10 role

Is Foden over Hamez on WC too risky?

If you've got a decent sub like Lamptey there's no problem with a Foden punt

Any thoughts on this. I know 451 ain’t popular but Jimenez surely reduces the risk of going this route. Looking for midfield value and Liverpool defence is proven.
Mahrez probably just a Pulisic placeholder. Taylor looks the one week link but happy to play him every week. Could become Lamptey too.
