Reed missing for Fulham as Traoré named on Aston Villa bench

Fantasy Premier League benches have taken another hit in Gameweek 3 as Harrison Reed (£4.5m) is absent from Fulham’s meeting with Aston Villa.

In a week where Daniel Podence (£5.6m) and Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) were no-shows, managers will be relying on their substitutes more than ever.

Reed is currently among the top-eight most-popular midfielders priced under £4.5m but is leaving his backers short this time around.

Aleksandr Mitrovic (£6.0m) is the main Fantasy draw at Craven Cottage though, owned by 20.7% of managers.

The Fulham forward is a key man in the mid-priced bracket, Patrick Bamford (£5.7m) the only FPL forward priced at £6.0m or less to come into Gameweek 3 with more backers than Mitrovic.

His Leeds counterpart has already registered five attacking returns in three matches but Mitrovic is on Fulham’s penalties… in a season where spot-kicks are intriguingly common.

That said, Emi Martínez (£4.5m) already has one penalty save to his name in 2020/21, making himself the most-signed goalkeeper ahead of Gameweek 3.

The Villa shot-stopper already boasts 11.8% ownership and could catch up on Alex McCarthy (18.7%) and Mat Ryan (17.9%) with a solid score at Craven Cottage.

Jack Grealish (£7.0m) was the last Villa man to score a league goal at Fulham, and also their chief threat on the road last season. He registered seven attacking returns on the road in 2019/20 and continues on the left-hand side of Dean Smith’s 4-3-3 system tonight.

As is likely to be customary this season, Ollie Watkins (£6.0m) leads the line for the second league match in a row, while Trézéguet (£5.5m) gets one more week on the right-hand side of the front-three.

New signing Bertrand Traoré (£6.0m) is sure to be eyeing up that spot up though, as he shook off a yellow flag to be named on Villa’s bench for Gameweek 3.

Fulham XI (4-2-3-1): Areola; Bryan, Odoi, Hector, Tete; Ream, Zambo Anguissa; Cavaleiro, Decordova-Reid, Cairney; Mitrovic.

      I also have Martial/Werner/Son - giving Werner another week as Tammy was pretty average and hoping he gets another shot upfront and putting faith in general Chelsea creativity improving

      Already done Martial to Jimi, he looks well off the pace and will likely switch to Bruno as Utd player. Son will go to Pereira i think, which enables cash next weekto go Salah for Willian

      Barnes/Zaha both look great options if you need to free some cash up

        Mahrez is a good pick.
        Rarely injured. Does get rotation. But position flattering.
        If you've got cover, Mahrez was worth 175 points last season from 33 games.
        Cover means you get 1-2 points per game the games he misses.
        That's a 200 point season from an $8.5mil player.
        And right now, he's playing further forward.

    Havertz is such a quality Player with great vision and tactical awareness. He might not lead penalty area touches or chances created stats right now, but he is really effective... His signature run getting into the penalty area will get him 10+ goals this season.

        I am concerned but given how the first 3gws have gone I feel it is better to stick where one can and more so to spread the team representation as the doubling up atm is high risk given the unpredictability of performances currently.
        This was my take away lesson from this gw hence looking to ditch where I have doubled. Foden is my pet punt but otherwise double-ups are not tasty for me

        Saiss was brilliant first gw and not bad gw2 I still see potential and honestly apart from castagne and perhaps lamptey I'm not keen on others. Reece James is tempting but I trust Leic def wiv Evans now back over Chelsea but defo monitoring

      I wildcarded Castagne and Trossard in for what it's worth, but not sure I think owning Justin over Castagne is a big enough problem yet to warrant these moves?

      But to answer your Q i would go Trossard, he looked unreal against United

      this kinda comment was said prior to WBA, same wiv Auba prior to WHU game...both crashed showing the unpredictability of the league atm ....NO ONE IS ESSENTIAL and Werners cash can be better utilized elsewhere for now until chelsea settle on form, formation and overall tactics imo.
      Werner shafted out wide to enable Giroud-+Tammy up top wasnt pleasing either

    OK, it's time to say Sayonara to Son before the price drop. I've got Salah and I can afford everyone apart from Auba, KDB & Mane. Would a good player bulk up with a Sterling or a Bruno or would they tone it down with a Mahrez or a Rodriguez and muscle up elsewhere?
