Pieters at right-back as Burnley reveal Bardsley’s self-isolation

Burnley have confirmed the absence of Phil Bardsley (£4.5m) from their Gameweek 5 trip to West Bromwich is because of a positive coronavirus test.

That means a start at right-back for left-sided defender Erik Pieters (£4.4m) as the former Manchester United man self-isolates in line with the latest government advice.

The rest of Burnley’s back-four is as expected, featuring Charlie Taylor (£4.5m) on the left and James Tarkowski (£5.4m) paired with Kevin Long (£4.5m) in the middle.

Sean Dyche will be pleased to have something closer to his first-choice midfield and front-lines at the Hawthorns.

Chris Wood (£6.4m) and Ashley Barnes (£6.0m) start up-front together for the second match in a row while the flanks are staffed by Dwight McNeil (£5.9m) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.4m), allowing Josh Brownhill (£5.0m) to move back into the middle.

That tweak sees popular budget midfielder Dale Stephens (£4.4m) drop out of the starting XI, joined on the bench by Jay Rodriguez (£5.9m).

Slaven Bilic has made six changes to his West Bromwich Albion team, including handing a debut to Karlan Grant, who is yet to be priced by FPL.

Callum Robinson (£5.5m) comes through his injury flag for a lack of match fitness to be at least named on the bench. He found the net twice in the Baggies’ last home match.

Meanwhile, FPL fan favourite Branislav Ivanovic (£4.5m) finally makes his West Brom debut at centre-back, joined in a return to a back-four by Ahmed Hegazi (£4.3m) with Conor Townsend (£4.5m) and Darnell Furlong (£4.5m) on the flanks of defence.

The Baggies’ top-scoring FPL asset so far this season Matheus Pereira (£6.0m) is handed a central berth in attacking midfield on Monday night with Grady Diangana (£5.5m) and Filip Krovinovic (£5.0m) providing the width.

West Bromwich Albion XI: Johnstone; C Townsend, Hegazi, Ivanovic, Furlong; Livermore, Gallagher; Diangana, M Pereira, Krovinovic; Grant.

Burnley XI: Pope; C Taylor, K Long, Tarkowski, Pieters; McNeil, Westwood, Brownhill, Gudmundsson; Wood, A Barnes.

Will VVD's price be frozen due to red flag?

I'm wondering if I can sit on him for a week to save the hit.

It's not frozen. It will not fall as fast due to the flag, but will still likely drop.

KdB out for me & willing to take a hit.

    McCarthy ¦
    TAA - Coady - Ward
    KdB* - Salah - Jorginho - Son
    Kane - Maupay - Wilson*
    ¦ Bissouma - Justin* - Taylor

    A) Justin -> Fernandes + Reguilon
    B) Wilson -> Grealish + Aguero

Probably ditch Kane and keep Son, will assess at the time given form. Could posibly keep both but doubt it, Kane>Kun msot likely or even Werner if Kun gets injured again.
That said dont have KDB so he might be the replacement for Kane

I think Rodriguez is a sensible pick given DCL's ownership.
I'm just not keen on expensive forwards and prefer the premium midfielders. You'll find a few value strikers who keep ticking over, like Jimenez and Ings last season, DCL this season and I'd rather fill up on them and use the money in the bank in midfield.

Probably, but given that Maupay has an easy fixture and Kane has a game Thursday night, I wouldn’t go early. If you’re priced out just do it next week instead, you’ll still catch his price going in the right direction

I don't expect it to stay that way, but Pulisic's heatmap last match was more-so in the RB/RWB position!

61 pts away from top 10k seems like a long long road. But I hope I will arrive there in 2-3 months time

seems a lot but in reality that 61 points could be erased in 3 GWs

I just don't like the fact that my team is probably quite similar to those at the top. Captains will make the difference.

yep captains for sure, hence why im so far behind. I have only had one goal from my captain so far, the arm band is killing me!

im 89 points off, sigh. Still got Jimi, Saiss and Wood playing though so hopefully cut it down a bit tonight

50 points away for me, I just think there are lot of dead teams and casuals who will drop out during season

If Jorginho keeps getting game time I may bring him in - chelsea are sure to get pens

Klich/Jorghino would be a good combo, espically sicne Jorghino may not be nailed, both on pens, both pennies. But You could have a 7mil mid for that instead, so tough call really

Figure I’ve the dud pereira currently and had planned for Bowen gw8

But with Jorginho the extra cash can go on defence - Dias/chilwell/regs etc

Yes, he is a nice 4th mid tbh, and that looks like it will continue.

Sorry but I will never go against my policy buying defensive mids
