Pro Pundits - Tom

Five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman on Leeds, Chilwell and his Gameweek 7 plans

One of the best FPL managers in the business, Tom Freeman, discusses Patrick Bamford, Ben Chilwell’s creativity and the best West Ham United assets, plus reveals his Gameweek 7 team and captaincy decisions.

We’re now six Gameweeks into this turbulent Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season, and it’s been a positive start for me.

Despite missing Son Heung-min (£9.5m) and Harry Kane’s (£10.9m) hauls at Southampton and Manchester United, I sit 140,693rd overall, with 70 points in Gameweek 6 taking me to a total of 389.

Patrick Bamford (£5.9m) was the star of the show but there were also returns for six others, including defenders Luke Ayling (£4.5m) and James Justin (£4.8m).

LEEDS UNITED

Bamford has now scored six goals in as many games for Leeds United this season.

For a player who has often been criticised for his profligacy in front of goal, it’s been some turnaround, something he acknowledges himself:

The last time [I was in the Premier League], maybe people said I wasn’t ready – but I didn’t have a proper go at it. It is a fresh start for me to prove I belong here. If I keep on doing it the boys will be happy and I’ll be happy. This time I have a manager who believes in me and, as long as I keep working hard, he will keep trusting me.

The stats are certainly stacking up in Bamford’s favour.

Before I sign off, earlier this week I was fortunate enough to join fellow Pro Pundits Lateriser and Zophar for a chat on The FPL Wire.

We talked strategy, plans going forward, Everton and Manchester City assets, mid-price midfielders plus loads more.

The chat complements this column, and goes a bit deeper into some of the subjects covered, so if you’re into that kind of thing check it out on the link below.

Thanks for reading… until next time.

    Justin --> Chilwell

    or

Havertz --> Grealish (hoping it might be a high scoring affair)

    Or save transfer?

Something so strangely satisfying about seeing a hop, skip and jump penalty missed.

He's not a bridge. He's a buy now and hold for the long run imo. I think he has a chance to get 250+ points this year.

One thing which bother me about him is he's not a reliable © IMO. He'll get loads of points, but don't know where ... Good for draft game

It doesn't matter. If he gets 250 points he's a good (c) choice. You just have to put it on him once in a while and hope he delivers. He has 15+ pointers in him and that's enough for me.

Using untrained teenagers to hold conversations about death over the phone whilst paying them £6.45 and charging the government over £60 seems many shades of wrong. They might be the newest and brightest, but they are also the least able to be empathetic about a subject they have probably never experienced.

People can point fingers at the government, and there’s no question they could have handled things better.

But people have not followed the guidelines, they are too selfish and short sighted.

Only 11% of those told to self isolate do so.

The best way to sum up the attitude of the general public is lockdown for thee, but not for me.

What a load of nonsense. Best penalty taker should take them regardless of position. More often than not it'll be strikers but it isn't always the case.

Including today Werner has scored 14 from 17 (82%) and Jorginho has scored 23 from 26 (88%).

Alan Shearer's Premier League record was 83.6% compared to Leighton Baines nearly 91%. Some players are just better suited to them and it isn't always strikers.

Justin & Podence. Podence 1st sub.

I do rate Podence to convert soon, but getting fewer minutes and Palace just defined (well or not).

Kilman will either start or not. Less likely to be subbed on/off I'd say. He's been getting good bonus when he plays.

James is good when on the pitch. We could concede but great baseline BAPs and crosses. Burnley better in the air than us though...

Leicester have been fairly tight at the back but Leeds look good.

I've no interest in digging up stats, but am I right in saying Jorgy has now missed 2 spot kicks in all competitions this season? That would be enough broadly speaking to have someone else shunted up the pecking order. Don't get me wrong, not touching Chelsea assets if I can avoid it, but just saying..

    TAA Saiss Ayling Justin Mitchel
    Salah Son Havertz Foden Bissouma
    Kane Jimmy Mitro
    2 FT and 0.0

who to lose? i'm thinking Havertz to Hamez .. then i re-assess TAA/Jimmy to lose one and upgrade mitro to DCL or so ..

      I don't like Havertz > Hamez as a transfer.

Should be making that Havertz slot a premium.
