Why I am Wildcarding for FPL Gameweek 9 and the key players I am signing

My Fantasy Premier League Wildcard is now active and in this article I will be going through the list of players and teams I am targeting.

With eight Gameweeks now gone, I feel I have enough data to make an informed decision.

As I am using this so extensively, only those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout subscription can access it in full.

Not to sound snotty, but can the Scoutcast team at least consider filling the void by bringing in other members in their absence to pep the empty weeks up? I'm sure there are loads here who'd give it a decent go.

    GW9 Kane-DCL. Brewster-Watkins -4
    GW10 Son-KDB.Zouma-Cancelo -4
    GW11 Roll Transfer
    GW12 DCL-Bamford Hamez-?
Don't like taking hits but it's the only way to while taking advantage of fixtures at the same time?

    Repost from previous article

    1FT 1.6m ITB WC available

    McCarthy (Button)
    Chilwell Zouma Taylor (Justin Mitchell)
    Salah Son Sterling ASM (Bissouma)
    Werner DCL Watkins

Go Spursless with Son to Bruno (C)? ASM is the biggest issue with the above IMO, but no mid up to 6.9m really interests me (Jota? Bowen?)

Would you take a hit Saiss to Cancelo to secure some bench with Mitchell and Brewster?
    Chilwell Zouma Lamptey other defenders

      Especially vs spurs no
The hit would need to cover the -4 so basically banking on cs
Wait and do it for free vs Burnley

Nah, not for a hit. Unless one of those three defenders are flagged. Save the points and make the transfer next GW.

    A or B ? Please

    B) Jesus, Bruno and Cancelo

    Thanks all in advance

B for me. Especially if you have Chilwell already? Jesus has been scoring and City's fixtures from GW10 are great. Obviously Aguero coming back is always a risk. Martial has done nothing in the PL yet this season. Utd are definitely a wait and see for me - too inconsistent. The one exception is Bruno given his recent returns and penalties. Cancelo looks good and City should see clean sheets over that good run.

Yeah mate I agree tbh , just thought many would say KDB is essential, but yeah have Chilwell, Vardy in there to

KDB could haul for sure - the fixtures look great. But so could plenty of other players. As long as you have other viable captaincy options then I wouldn't sweat it. City haven't hammered anyone yet this season in the PL.

Think I'd go A purely because of KDB. Not because he's essential but he could be a great (C) option in there upcoming fixtures

Vardy and Salah my (c) options

I sometimes get these mental blocks and I'm just asking for help to point out my stupidity or give me a new look on my team.

    Martinez
    Robertson - Semedo - Lamptey
    Salah - Son - Rodriguez - Zaha - Grealish
    Kane - DCL
    (Peacock-Farrell) (Dallas, Brewster, Mitchell)

    2 FT 0.1 ITB

I want to move Kane out, a long with a midfielder for De Bruyne/Fernandes and I want Semedo to Chilwell at some point as well.
Feels weird to get any midfielders other than Son this week because they all have great fixtures, however, I kinda like Son still despite the fixtures which puts me in a predicament.

The choice of midfielder I move out will also effect the striker I replace Kane with. Could go with options being between Werner/Martial/Watkins or Wilson if fit after IB. The other factor is that to upgrade Semedo I will also need a bit in the bank for that move as well. However, Semedo to Chilwell might just be a distraction and should worry about that separately once that move becomes easier to make.

Personally I would go Son to KDB and Kane to Watkins or Bamford. Although second out would be Zaha instead of Son, I I think with Ayew coming back in and the improvements of Eze, Zaha may slightly lose effectiveness as being palace’s only attacking threat.

Another crazy stat to highlight this odd season is that every player who has been the top player in a GW has then blanked in the following GW, despite a huge number of bandwagon net transfers in (~2.9m).

    GW 1: Salah
    GW 2: Son
    GW 3: Vardy
    GW 4: Grealish
    GW 5: Werner
    GW 6: Bamford
    GW 7: Ward-Prowse
    GW 8: Fernandes

So if history is any indication, are people still so keen on captaining Bruno? 😀

What is the reason for the popularity of West Ham defenders? Is it just me who thinks their fixtures aren’t good for CS potential?

Sheffield United isn’t too bad (although their offensive stats have been improving in the recent weeks), but their next 3 after that is Villa, United and Leeds which aren’t easy to get CS against at all.

I think before Fulham it made more sense to bring one in, but personally can’t see the point of it now.

Great fixtures and have looked quite good at the back. Its still West Ham so dont expect clean sheets every GW, but with their low prices i think they could be good value.
