Thoughts on this WC? Want Cancelo but low TV going against me, so plan in 2 GWs to do DCL & Lewis to Wilson/Bamford & Cancelo. Or just make the sacrifices to get him now?

    McCarthy, £4m
    Chilwell, Coufal, Justin, Targett, Lewis
    Salah, KDB, Bruno, Ziyech, Grealish
    DCL, Watkins, Brewster

Nice midfield and defence but forwards may be a bit light.

Thanks. Yeah my only worry but think the value is in the mid priced forwards. Think the variation in forwards is less than the midfielders

Cheers. Yeah had Werner this week but the savings on Ziyech swayed me.

True but hoping moving on this combination early will help to move up the ranks. A lot will be transitioning to a combination of this over the coming weeks.

The plan with a WC is to maximise points in future game weeks, that could involve planning future transfers

    Hi guys,

    Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

Disastrous start followed by a great four weeks means I'm around 700k OR but not that prepared for fixture swing. What should be my priorities?

    Patricio*
    Chilwell, Coufal, Coady* (Dallas)
    Salah, Ziyech, Son, Foden*, Podence*
    Kane, Werner (Brewster)

    * = I'm thinking of moving on. 1m ITB, so first thought was bank the FT, then GW10 Patricio & Coady > Ederson & Cancelo/Dias.

But a) too much money in defence? b) Feels like Bruno/KDB should be in my thoughts somehow.

Some caveats: 1) not sure why everyone thinks Son and Kane need to go when Son has hauled in more even games against teams who press high and leave space in behind and blanked against West Brom, Newcastle, and Everton at home. Aren't these fixtures good for Son? 2) Got major irrational love for Timo so don't want to sell. 3) Birmingham fan so doing everything I can to avoid the Villa value...

    Thanks all!

Got a midfield of Salah, Son, Rash and Grealish.
Looking to move Son out for this GW.
    Who would you go for?
    A) Bruno
    B) Ziyech
    C) Hamez

B or C would allow me to straight swap Rash to KDB in GW 10.

Depends how much you enjoy gambling. B and C are players with relatively small performance sample sizes with a view to moving to a player with below par individual and team form. A is moving to a player averaging 8ppgame for almost a year

Tempted to get Hamez myself - Haven't got any Everton players, not got any ITB to upgrade to Bruno (and have Rashford) and already have 3 Chelsea (Zouma, Chillwell and Werner)

Just hoping Hamez drops in price before Son does - really don't want to buy a player who is already > -95%

I'd say Dallas, he's a good threat going forwards but Leeds have conceded a lot of goals and look like they could do it against most teams. I think Southampton are looking better lately at both ends of the pitch and KWP has been playing well.

Very tough one. The only thing really to pick between them is Bruno has a 1 year history, Salah several. But they are both moreorless as consistent as one another. I guess it comes down to 2 things, do you believe there is anything in the Bruno home form thing, and do you want to cap the one with the highest eo or the differencial

I guess it shouldn"'t take long for Fabinho to be back, he'll hold the center with Matip.
But who'll replace TAA on the right ?

  16. Pukki Pies
    • Fantasy Football Scout Member

On wildcard, got a few things to figure out:

    Martinez, Martin
    Chilwell, Cancelo, Cresswell, Justin, Phillips
    Salah, Grealish, Bruno, Ziyech, Riedewald
    Werner, Bamford, DCL

Leaves me with 0.0 ITB as it stands.

    Thoughts:

Salah - currently have Mane who I got as a differential as everyone else in my mini-league has Salah, but it's not really worked out and thinking with Salah on pens it's just too dangerous not to have him?

Werner - had him from the start and he is starting to come good, but are there better options, e.g. Vardy, but would need to shift things around a bit to bring him in?

KDB - everyone seems to be bringing him in but I've got a feeling it's going to be a few weeks before he starts hauling, if then given how Man City are playing so far. Obviously changes could be made to bring him in for GW10 onwards if he does start firing, or should I take the gamble now?

Martin, Phillips - any better options at that price point?

    Thanks!

One other thing I meant to mention - I've taken out Rodriguez which I've a feeling might come back to bite me. Another option would be:

        Martinez, Martin
        Chilwell, Cancelo, Cresswell, Justin, Phillips
        Salah, Grealish, Bruno, Ziyech, Hamez
        Werner, Bamford, Brewster

On current form I think DCL outscores Hamez but it's probably a close call. Start of the season Hamez looked amazing.

Yeah it's not a bad option. I'm not 100% on Justin as his place isn't secure, but good fixtures from GW10-GW13 and he should be playing for most of them. Might swap Cresswell for Coufal though and save the cash.

Wish I had a WC atm and Martinez, Cancelo, Bamford, Bruno, DCL would all be in my thoughts, so looks good.

Agreed on Salah - handball pens back with a vengeance at the weekend so don't see a reason to favour Mane right now.

Same position as you with Werner, had him from day 1, Chelsea now clicking and he seems to be on pens, so a better option than ever, you'd think. Could be a sunk-cost fallacy thing but I'll be sticking, though I'm sure you could make a case for Vardy at 0.7 more - you could raise most of that cash by doing Cresswell>Coufal if you were tempted, and Phillips to 3.9 (I'm assuming Matip-Fabinho the pairing but who knows!)

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Think I'll stick with Werner for now too, as you say could prove to be a mistake but he also looks like he could go on a good run, and if I miss that not I'll be gutted. Also if Ziyech turns out to be as good as he's looked so far then Werner can surely benefit from his deliveries. Can always bring Vardy in a couple of weeks down the line if it doesn't work out, although would probably need to be for a hit.

Yeah agreed, I'm on Ziyech too and he can only be good news for Werner, assist already vs. Burnley and should have been another against Sheff. Good luck!

Wolves fixtures bad after Saints but is it worth using the 0.2 on Kilman from Mitchell? Seems to be nailed now so you could bench him most of the time and just use when fixture okay (gws 9, 12, 14, 17, 19 look decent), Mitchell won't be playing anyway? Unless you are keeping funds for future options...

Need some new eyes on my WC team, any thoughts?

    Leno (McCarthy)
Coufal, Lamptey, Targett (Kilman, J. Lewis)
    Zaha, Grealish, Bruno, KDB, Mane
    Watkins, DCL (C. Wilson*)

I'm liking it on paper but am worried about no Chelsea & being too light at the back?

Nice players but thinking more generally about probability and structure, what do you think is likely to happen in time, perhaps very little, to a team where all the money is moved from front and back to center

It's a big shot. And if it goes wrong (it usually does) you are galloping up diarrhoea drive without a paddle

Looks good. Drop Leno to a 4m keeper and Wilson/Watkins to Brewster for funds to upgrade defence.

      Bruno over Grealish for sure.

I'll be choosing between Salah and Bruno, and leaning towards Salah as generally more reliable, EO would be higher and feel like West Brom might not make it easy for them

Justin to kilman would spare me 0.3
        I bought Werner at 9.3
With the 0.2 itb, would still be 0.3 short unfortunately

Fair enough. Just always feels very uncomfortable when you own a premium (ish) striker but because they're at the bottom end of the bracket they come with none of the interchangability of a mid/top end striker.

Read this a few months back about an Irish pub on the Everest trail.

            https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-53675741

Wonder if they even have Guinness. I once spent Paddy's day in an Irish bar in Ushuaia and they didn't have Guinness but instead were putting green dye in local Argentine lager.

Liverpool have been offered Daryl Janmaat as short-term defensive cover and are considering bringing him on board. The 31-year-old, who normally plays as a right-back, can also play centrally and offers attractive options for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. #awlfc

I don't share the whole anti-Son and Kane thing as Son in particular has hauled in certain types of games and I can see him getting space against both City and Arsenal - so for me your front 6 looks fine.

I'd only be looking to sort the defence if I were you, and there are lots of good options if you sell Trent and Mitchell - Cancelo, Dias, Coufal, Cresswell, Chilwell, Konsa, Mings?

Nice view. Actually I also like front 6 but dont know for how long I should keep faith in Sterling since City is awful atm. Trent has to go yes so will think about it. Cheers.

True and ideally I want to keep Sterling but Bruno keeps firing so maybe temporary switch and then back for the run but with KdB. Also would love to have Vardy again but thats just too much atm.
