Probably looking at two more weeks of -4, thinking of the best way to make it work for my team.

Which duo do you prefer for the medium-term?

    A) Ziyech Salah
    B) Sterling Son

People here calling Salah sellers as casuals while I am sitting here with Bruno in and Salah out saving 0.2m early and waiting for a lovely Saturday night haul.

Exactly, imagine holding a 12.0m player on the bench for the next 1, maybe even 2 weeks

probably will only miss leicester game in which case I'm keeping, can get Bruno in for foden then KDB in for son week after

I'm keeping Salah but I own Bruno already. That said, watch Bruno blank.

You need both these players and if you own Salah already, there may be a strong justification to bench him rather than just two transfers

I must assume its a child if they use the word "casual".

Couple of days ago here was full of people crying like “already took -4 -8 now my team is full of flags with salah robbo chilwell etc etc”. You can easily be one of them after the Portugal game tonight or even after the game while traveling back because of the thing called “COVID”. I understand people selling Salah (I am planning as well based on the swab test result on Thursday) but I do not understand pulling the trigger that early while there are a lot of internationals yet to be played and thousands of miles to be travelled in such a shaky environment.

true. but price changes are part of the game too and people factor that in seeing he was dropping last night which would have impacted many peoples selling value.

many ways to play this game which is what makes it great!

I get your point and generally when I want to make a transfer I hit the button only the day before. But when you have 12.4m flagged with so many hot options to be replaced with, I feel that a severe price drop is more possible than the replacement getting injured or COVID.

Truth be told though, if Salah plays the Brighton game, I will be watching behind the sofa.

The problem is the uncertainty. Salah may make Leicester, he may not, but even if he does - there are still a whole round of games for literally anyone else to get injured. What if Chilwell's back ruled him out, Kane broke his leg, Bruno gets COVID etc? Any of those would become more urgent than removing Salah. So even the 'but Player X is definitely out so my transfer is safe' doesn't help in isolation, because, come Friday, you may have no GKs or only 1 defender to field.

All that happens is prices rush up or rush down, and people start to panic that they need to act (perhaps rashly), which exacerbates the transfers.

I'm not aiming this at you at all. Just the whole thing is madness.

don't get me wrong, i understand and agree with all of that and would much make transfers at the end of the week once press conferecnes are done etc. reality is though that lots of people do worry about price changes and as you say it then exacerbates and escalates the changes.

point is, can't stop people making early transfers and that's their choice. our own individual choice is whether to play the changes or ignore them. Neither is right or wrong in my opinion

Yep, just gotta suck it up and know that we're waiting for a reason. Even if that comes at the expense of getting priced out of someone sometimes, it probably saves us an extra transfer more often.

Save Salah. It's naiv to take him out because he will most probably play in after this week. Maybe you will loose 0.2 million but in the end Salah will come back and deliver.

    Son + Wilson -> Bruno + Antonio/Bamford (-4)

    Salah KDB Son Grealish Bissouma
    Werner DCL Wilson

    Chilwell, Konsa, Justin, Tierney, Taylor

I think your front 8 is too strong, if you don't mind benching hauls every week then fair enough but I hate having benching dilemmas personally.

Obviously, I would never wish COVID-19 on anyone, or an injury... However, I feel somewhat excited about the weekend ahead given the complete spanner in the works with which we've been confronted. I did not plan on taking a -4 this weekend, having already upgraded my 5th mid from Burke to Grealish, but I am completely happy now that I've been given the option to. Teams will now, potentially, be a little more mixed up with even less predictability than before and a -4 in the grand scheme of things could pay absolute dividends this week...

    Or not.

Disagree, but understand the point of view. I'm looking over the next 12 GWs (but you could extend to 16) and I only don't rate their chances against che, lee, eve and maybe sou. That's 8 out 12 they've got a decent chance. I'll take that for a 4.5m def.

Is jota a must have at 6.5? He should be gold for next few weeks since he’s become a guaranteed starter with salah covid

Not for me. It's a simple question of priorities, I have 4 midfield slots.

KDB, Grealish, Bruno, Ziyech/Salah are my 4, I like Jota short term, but will go Salah instead next week

He's a good option and will get minutes across the next few weeks along with a couple of starts you'd imagine but I definitely wouldn't say he's a must have. That being said even with his limited minutes he looks supremely confident right now with every touch he takes.

    Which of the three:

    A) Jota and Watkins in for Son and Brewster (-4)
    B) Mane and Watkins in for Son and Kane (-4)
    C) Hold

If I do Son out, who should come in?
    A) Grealish
    B) Ziyech (have double Chelsea def)
    C) KDB (downgrade James to Targett)

    McCarthy Button
    Chilwell James Ayling CTaylor Mitchell
    Mane Bruno Son Soucek Bissouma
    Kane DCL Bamford

Grealish (although Ziyech is very tasty too). Villas fixtures swing it for Grealish tho

Is bringing Jesus in to replace Kane for a -4 worth it?

I just think that Spurs will struggle against an improving City defence.

I WC’d in GW8 and this is my team (did Bruno to Son swap as Son was going to drop in price):

    McCarthy Button

    Vestergaard Cancelo Chillwell coufal Kilman

    Ziyech KDB Bruno Jota Grealish

    Watkins Kane Wilson

Cheers guys, that’s what I was thinking. The Jesus hunch is probably from having too much time to mull it over during international break lol

    Mendy (Forster)
    Chilwell Semedo Lamptey Coufal (Mitchell)
    Son Zaha Foden (Salah Anguissa)
    Kane(c) DCL Jiminez

    1FT £0.5m

My transfer strategy has been a bit blown up by having to make annoying transfers to get rid of Reece James and Matt Ryan recently. I've avoided taking hits to now, but starting to feel it's necessary. I can just about carry Salah on my bench if he's only out for one. Plan next week is to do Semedo > Cancelo/Dias, so I'm probably not touching my defence this week.

    a) Jimi + Foden > Watkins + Grealish (-4)
    b) Jimi + Foden + Son > Watkins + Grealish + Bruno (c) (-8)
    c) Salah + Foden > Bruno + Grealish (-4) (I can bring Salah + Watkins in for Son + Jimi next week)
    d) Save, and postpone major surgery to next week, as Jimi has a decent fixture and Foden has a good chance of starting
    e) Something else

C for me out of those.

      I did Burke + Salah > Bruno + Grealish for -4.

Is anyone confident on Man City’s two first choice CBs, it looks hard to tell given the injuries they’ve had so far this season. Obviously Laporte but I would of thought Ake was first choice ahead of Dias?

Dias is solid, defo first choice over Ake

    2. Pegboy

As I understand it, Ake is competing with Laporte for the LCB position. Dias has RCB pretty much locked up, unless Garcia or Stones come back from the dead.

Ok thanks, hopefully they’re all fit for the next game and see how they line up. Looking at Cancelo or Dias for the following week but both sound like decent options.
