Jobs

Want to sign for Fantasy Football Scout?

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce two new job vacancies.

After a frantic but successful start to the season, we’re looking to grow the team once again, with new roles in both the editorial and technical departments.

Considering the world we live in right now, each role is a remote one, although, ideally, post-coronavirus, we would like to work together in person on occasion. Therefore, the ability to travel to London easily would be an advantage.

However, those that work outside of London should not be put off and should most definitely still apply. Talent is more important to us than postcode.

Editorial Content Support

We are looking for a new addition to the editorial team to work alongside David and Neale on our regular Fantasy Football Scout output. The role is part-time initially, but there is definitely with room to grow.

Time: 1-2 days per week (8-16 hours)

Main Duties Include:

  • Writing, editing and uploading specific articles
  • Covering midweek press conferences
  • Tweeting updates on FFS channel
  • Processing images for articles
  • Supporting the monitoring/update of injury and team news

Skillset Required:

  • Proven editorial experience at a professional level (writing/editing)
  • Interest in and knowledge of FPL and Premier League football generally
  • Flexible schedule

Full-stack developer

We are also looking to add to our growing technical team with another full-stack developer to provide support for existing systems and help with the development of new tools and services.

Time: Part time or full time (2-5 days per week)

Main Duties Include:

  • Supporting the existing site and tools
  • Developing new features

Skillset Required / Tools Used

Front-End:

  • HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • Query
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

Back-End:

  • API design and development
  • PHP
  • MySQLApache
  • WordPress
  • Ubuntu
  • Ansible

Experience

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

If you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

We would like to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications.

    How's she looking on a -4?

    Martinez
    Chilwell Saiss Lamptey
    (B)runo Son Ziyech Grealish
    Kane DCL Watkins

    Forster Foden Dallas Mitchell

    2.1 ITB for Kane>Vardy, Son>KDB next week.........

With the amount of fires in my team I think Son will survive in my team till GW12 as a Salah placeholder.

I can see that happening, the kane and son removal process is on halt for now. Those holding it could work in your favour.

      Whats your city attack plans?

Salah to KDB this week and skipping United attacker. Then Kane to Vardy next week.

Other option is I get Bruno for Salah this week and KDB for Son next week and keep Kane.

But I really want Vardy(c) for next week and possibly GW12 too if Salah is not looking back to his best.

3.2itb on a wildcard doesnt feel right but like the flexibility of providing options of moving Rich and/or Bruno up to Werner/Vardy/Sterling

    Thoughts of this lovely bunch?

    Martinez (Button)
    Coufal Cancelo Chillwell (KWP, Kilman)
    Grealish Bruno KDB Ziyech (Soucek)
    DCL Rich Bamford

Pretty much the same as mine but gone straight for Vardy and have Watkins instead of Bamford.

      Mine is

      Martinez, £4m
      Chilwell, Cancelo, Coufal, Justin, Lamptey
      Ziyech, KDB, Grealish, Bruno, Soucek
      DCL, Watkins, Vardy

watkins and bamford is close right, hard to separate

I also thought about Barkely in the Soucek spot but seems dumb in spending money there.

    3. Le Bluff
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I like it. Here's mine for comparison:

      Martinez (Button)
Chilwell Cancel Coufal (J Lewis, Lamptey)
      Grealish Bruno KDB Sterling (4.4)
      DCL Watkins Bamford

1.7 in the bank with Bruno > Salah pencilled in for when Liv play Ful and City play Utd.

Not tempted by the Sterling/KDB double-up? I want Ziyech (had him for his haul vs shu) but City's fixtures are just too good.

Yeah same. That's why I've gone all out with the KDB/Sterling/Bruno triple up.

Figured I can get away with no Salah for the next 3 GWs and attack this fixtures block with City assets and Bruno.

Fulham v Liverpool in 4 GWs time is when I'll want Salah back, so I haven't 'booked in' a transfer until then, really.

It's honestly 50-50 still. In theory he could test negative on Monday and be allowed to travel back, then train all week and be ready for Brighton. I'm not counting any chickens, think alot are making big mistake removing him without knowing for sure

      1. Maddamotha
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 4 months ago

Why tho? No player is essential. So I'd argue you're making a mistake not removing him for the reasons you listed, you don't know for sure when he will be back.

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Even if he's out for 2 weeks I have players to cover and its a waste of transfers taking him out and bringing him back in. I can't make use of his extra funds if its only for 2 weeks, or I end up taking hits. Those transfers are really precious with the upcoming fixture congestion, keeping an extra spare and being able to react to any other major injuries. Also I do think Salah is as close to essential as it gets - such a stable captain option for all Home games. But each to their own

Guy will be 34, and 35 aftet he's spent his first year getting kicked to death by clodders and getting used to living in a grey, grimy and relentlessly precipitative northern city.

It's going to be a tragic end. I doubt he'll even be the most desirable city asset at £13m

Not sure I'd move Foden to Grealish for a hit this week personally, that BRI defence isn't too shabby and Foden may end up being a good pick yet. Imagine if he starts and scores well v Spurs, then gets rested in the CL game, lots of ifs and buts I know but you'd be kicking yourself for selling him then, particularly when we had signs of good form during the IB.

Nah Kane over Son easily. Son has bad records vs. chels / arse / palace. Kane has great records vs these teams (maybe not chels). You could also consider Kane > Vardy. Im possibly heading that way due to Vardy explosiveness and Kane will do well but not going to be scoring braces and hatricks in tough games

I know it's late in the international break but I'm thinking of playing three wildcard. Current squad is

    McCarthy 4m
    TAA Justin Zouma B.Davies 4m
    Salah Son JWP Podence Reed
    Kane Adams DCL...

Thinking of going 352 with a Midfield of
    KDB Salah Ziyech Bruno Grealish

And then 2 up top out of
    DCL Adams Bamford Watkins

    Thoughts please guys.

I like it in terms of the WC template

I’m not up to date with injury news but add Antonio to your striker list

I'm building for the exact same idea. Used my wildcard but want this line up, will probably go with sterling over salah though as I have sterling already. I can get there with 2 transfers next gw

Never too late to play your wildcard, wouldn't keep Salah on a wildcard though

I would still keep Salah on a WC. Make sure you have good bench players covering for this week and wait for more news

Yep looks like your midfield needs a total overhaul and your suggested Midfield is great. Worth it in your case

    For a hit

    Foden to Jota

    Keep foden

I'm benching Foden this week. Don't think a hit to any of those is worth and there's huge potential from Foden. If he starts and looks good, he's a sure keep through City's next few fixtures.

I'm likely to keep and start v Spurs. I know last night's performance was whilst playing for England but surely it's an indicator of confidence and form. City have been struggling for goals, Pep going to leave Phil on the bench again ?! Think he's worth keeping a little while longer too but it's a close call.

I would not want to bench any of them... What's the rest of your team?

Rodriguez? No obvious pick so it seems like the one week to try a punt! Maybe Grealish or Ziyech also

    Who to bench?

    A) Semedo
    B) Lamptey
    C) Foden

Currently on Foden but not entirely happy after his big return for England.

Lamptey, I don’t see the point of owning foden if you’re not going to start him, if one of his hauls does finally show up and he’s on your bench it’ll be really frustrating

That's a tough one, see my comments above. I can't see a CS for either defender so that means I'd be thinking about who is most likely to get an attacking return, surely Foden, assuming he starts.
