Jobs

Want to sign for Fantasy Football Scout?

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce two new job vacancies.

After a frantic but successful start to the season, we’re looking to grow the team once again, with new roles in both the editorial and technical departments.

Considering the world we live in right now, each role is a remote one, although, ideally, post-coronavirus, we would like to work together in person on occasion. Therefore, the ability to travel to London easily would be an advantage.

However, those that work outside of London should not be put off and should most definitely still apply. Talent is more important to us than postcode.

Editorial Content Support

We are looking for a new addition to the editorial team to work alongside David and Neale on our regular Fantasy Football Scout output. The role is part-time initially, but there is definitely with room to grow.

Time: 1-2 days per week (8-16 hours)

Main Duties Include:

  • Writing, editing and uploading specific articles
  • Covering midweek press conferences
  • Tweeting updates on FFS channel
  • Processing images for articles
  • Supporting the monitoring/update of injury and team news

Skillset Required:

  • Proven editorial experience at a professional level (writing/editing)
  • Interest in and knowledge of FPL and Premier League football generally
  • Flexible schedule

Full-stack developer

We are also looking to add to our growing technical team with another full-stack developer to provide support for existing systems and help with the development of new tools and services.

Time: Part time or full time (2-5 days per week)

Main Duties Include:

  • Supporting the existing site and tools
  • Developing new features

Skillset Required / Tools Used

Front-End:

  • HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • Query
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

Back-End:

  • API design and development
  • PHP
  • MySQLApache
  • WordPress
  • Ubuntu
  • Ansible

Experience

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

If you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

We would like to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications.

    Anything worth a hit?

    Martinez
    Chilwell Cresswell Lamptey
    Bruno(C) Son Grealish KDB
    Kane DCL Bamford
    P-F KWP Stephens Mitchell

    Was considering Son to Ziyech, but not sure its worth (-4)

          DCL is a very good option this week. I just think people overthink captaincy sometimes, Bruno vs the worst team in the league is good enough for me

          Yeah, all well. Haven't been playing FPL for a while but I started a team in GW5 because my nephews were pestering me to enter the family league. I only have 300 points to make up on the leader. 😉

            Ah that'll be a piece of cake, a few GWs and you'll be there 🙂 joking aside I think that would wind me up starting the season 5 GW in but nice to be involved with relatives so I can see why you've done it. My kids are a little young but won't be long before I'm creating a family league of my own, got a 4th on the way now so might be a few on board at some point ! Hope you rekindle your love of FPL, enjoy.

          I'd argue DCL has a higher ceiling. Ziyech has assist potential but not great goal threat, I can see DCL scoring a hatrick but not Ziyech..

        Yes this^, is key info. Newcastle are actually a bogey team for chelsea, they always seem to play well against them so I wouldn't be backing any chels attackers this week.

          Coming from a NUFC fan, I won't argue they are dreadful. But I would also warn that Newcastle are an enigma, one week a shambles, another week dogged and get a result. Chels players have played alot over ITB, Newcastle squad all fully rested

              Indeed Utd are like that as a team but if you own Bruno I think its an easy choice to captain, even when Utd play bad Bruno can deliver. The other players I wouldn't be sure about. I'm not sure Ziyech is captaincy material yet, would put DCL above him this week

    Drafting a wildcard and feel like I’d change almost my whole team

    Already done;
    Podence -> Grealish
    TAA -> Cancelo

    WC would;
    Salah -> Fernandez
    Son -> KDB
    Shaw -> Lamptey
    Werner -> Vardy (maybe)
    Kane -> Watkins
    Bissouma -> Ziyech (Soucek backup)
    Ferguson -> Coufal
    McCarthy -> Martinez

    Probably should just hit the button, eh?

        There's a quarantine period after the last day of symptoms/positive test I guess? Any ide how many days that is?

          According to the PL protocol, a player must self-isolate for 10 days after testing positive, and should be retested on the 10th day. So mathematically it's not possible for him to make the Brighton game.

          However, should he test negative between now and Brighton, he should be allowed to travel back to the UK and (logically) should no longer need to self-isolate, and therefore be available for Brighton.

          At least, that's what I've been able to deduce. Might be complete bollix. Hoping Klopp reveals all in the presser.

      It's all very confusing. If he returns a negative test on Monday or after he can travel back I believe. But this depends on Gov decision if he will then also have to isolate for 2weeks or not. If that is given the OK, then he can join up and train from Tuesday. If he continues to give positive tests after Monday (This is the 10day period from first test), then I'm not sure what happens, it may then extend the period to another 10 days.. in which case next game definitely off. Honestly so many different scenarios I have no clue

    Lampard on fitness: "Pulisic is not fit for Newcastle but he has stepped up his training slowly. It has been quite a problematic injury, we have been cautious. Kai Havertz is back, he has started training. Thiago Silva has just landed so he probably won't go to #NUFC."

      Not match fit for Newcastle.

      Doesn't matter anyway. At this point, Ziyech is the Chelsea guy to get unless Havertz suddenly explodes but his first few appearances suggest otherwise and even his position is deeper now.

      I don't think so. Good option but not essential, fixtures not as good as City / villa / utd

      Other option is Mings/Targett and Zouma/Chilwell.

    Would you do for free:

    a) Son to KDB
    b) Son to Mané
    c) Roll the transfer

    Own Kane, no Liverpool & City

      For every 0.2m rise, you get 0.1

        So if 200k managers bring a player in his price goes up by 0.1m?

          no each player has a different threshold,that 0.2 m means million pounds ,so a player has to rise twice by 0.1 for your paid price to increase by 0.1which will also mean you can sell that player for 0.1 than you paid

      look on fpl statistics ,that is a fairly current guide as to a players status in the market,generally at 100% up will mean a 0.1 rise ,same if its for a fall ,prices updated at 130am every day uk time,hope thats a help..
