Jobs

Want to sign for Fantasy Football Scout?

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce two new job vacancies.

After a frantic but successful start to the season, we’re looking to grow the team once again, with new roles in both the editorial and technical departments.

Considering the world we live in right now, each role is a remote one, although, ideally, post-coronavirus, we would like to work together in person on occasion. Therefore, the ability to travel to London easily would be an advantage.

However, those that work outside of London should not be put off and should most definitely still apply. Talent is more important to us than postcode.

Editorial Content Support

We are looking for a new addition to the editorial team to work alongside David and Neale on our regular Fantasy Football Scout output. The role is part-time initially, but there is definitely with room to grow.

Time: 1-2 days per week (8-16 hours)

Main Duties Include:

  • Writing, editing and uploading specific articles
  • Covering midweek press conferences
  • Tweeting updates on FFS channel
  • Processing images for articles
  • Supporting the monitoring/update of injury and team news

Skillset Required:

  • Proven editorial experience at a professional level (writing/editing)
  • Interest in and knowledge of FPL and Premier League football generally
  • Flexible schedule

Full-stack developer

We are also looking to add to our growing technical team with another full-stack developer to provide support for existing systems and help with the development of new tools and services.

Time: Part time or full time (2-5 days per week)

Main Duties Include:

  • Supporting the existing site and tools
  • Developing new features

Skillset Required / Tools Used

Front-End:

  • HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • Query
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

Back-End:

  • API design and development
  • PHP
  • MySQLApache
  • WordPress
  • Ubuntu
  • Ansible

Experience

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

If you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

We would like to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications.

    Pickford
    Chilwell* James Gabriel Mitchell* Saiss*
    Salah* Son Rashford* Barkley Reed
    Watkins Kane DCL

I have 2 FTS and 1.2 in the bank. Plan was always to get rid of Son or Kane. But with 5 flagged or at risk players I need to ensure I have a full playing 11.
Thinking Salah to Bruno but really need to have a full defence. Then there’s City about to go on a run of fantastic fixtures.
    Any ideas?

      Chilwell is fine (flag removed).
Mitchell is fit but doubtful he'll start imo.
Saiss may play due to a Kilman losing his father.

Rashford is fit and i don't like united double up.

i would do Salah to KDB and Saiss to Cancelo personally.

Thanks for the response. Didn’t hear about Kilman, how sad.
Guess I need to refresh again as Chilwell is flagged for me. Those moves look good.

Chilwell is fit and Saiss might get a game this gw so maybe you can hold off on your defensive transfer for another week.
Salah to Bruno and bank the other transfer.

Think Rashford is an ideal differential this week to Bruno. What about Salah + Saiss > KDB + Cancelo. Then work on a way to get Salah back in in 2 GW time.

I think you have to attack those Man City fixtures. You might aswell commit to getting them in this week. I think the Spurs City game could go either way. KDB is capable of big scores against anybody, and i wouldn't be surprised if Spurs flopped in a big game again.

Can't see any value in moving on premium players in a fixture that isn't obviously appealing for any of them. Both teams combined have conceded a total of 3 goals in 6 games

Sure, it could be a big scorer. But it seems to me the obvious thing to do is not to whop out s load of money on a premium who could be injured in that fixture or the following weeks midweek match

McCarthy/Martinez v KWP/Targett seems to be a common dilemma WCers are facing! I really can't choose. Is there a preference? Is one duo better than the other. Martinez is dearer than Mccarthy.

They'll surely score similarly but Martinez/KWP feels like better upside potential - whichever your gut feeling goes with in the end

Yeah - will be one of Coufal or Justin that goes for Dias/Cancelo. Justin has the fixtures 10-12 so really would want him for those if he is still safe. Ricardo's injury was pretty serious so imagine they will be very careful with him. Cheers for the inputs.

If Vardy gets you a haul, then you move up big.

Most others will be on Bruno (30%).

Picking Vardy does not seem that risky. A crafty veteran forward versus Liverpool's 2nd or 3rd choice defensive team is not a bad bet.

Few options here... with a look ahead also.

    A. Salah >> Bruno(C) (need a hit next week for City, possibly Kane>>Vardy)

    B. Salah >> Rashford(C) (MITB for Son >> KDB next week)

    C. Salah >> KDB (unsure on Captain then)

    D. B and C combined for a hit!

    McCarthy
    Chilwell, Saiss, Cresswell

I like B or C depends how confident you are about capping a United attacker this week. If you get KDB this week that also frees up a transfer for Kane to Vardy(c) next week.

    Got 2 FT and 2.7ITB.
    Martínez (Martin)
    Chilwell, Lamptey, Walker-Peters, Robertson (Branthwaite)
    Son, Soucek, Grealish, Zaha (Salah)
    Kane, Calvert-Lewin (Brewster)

    Who to get for Salah?
    1) Bruno
    2) Mane
    3) KDB

KDB feels like a better long term option. Bruno is a great captain alternative this week.

Would you go for Sam Johnstone over McCarthy on WC? West Brom have tightened up a bit at the back and have nice fixtures

Southampton has been good for me. Great year to have a club without European commitments.

I am comfortable to say that SOU is a top-10 club in 2020. Extraordinary.

    Would you wildcard this team?

    McCarthy, Steer
    Zouma, Coufal, Ayling, Justin, Mitchell
    Salah, Son, Fernandes, Grealish, Bissouma
    Kane, Calvert-Lewin, Wilson

1 FT and 0.2 in the bank.

    Thanks!

fill out your wildcard team - see how many transfers it'd cost.

    1. Salah -> Fernandes (c) -4. Possible WC next GW or just take more hits.
    2. No hit. Possibly WC next GW.
    3. WC to something like the team below now.

    McCarthy.
    Justin, Ayling, Cancelo, Chilwell.
    Barkley, Grealish (c), Son.
    DCL (vc), Jimenez, Kane.
    Button, Mitchell, Salah, Bissouma.
    0ft, 1.8m ITB.

    McCarthy, Fodder.
    Targett, Lewis, Cancelo, Chilwell, Justin.
Grealish, Ziyech, Fernandes (c), KDB, Sterling.
    DCL, Watkins, Brewster.

Thoughts on my draft GW10 team? Anything you would change?

    Martinez
Cancelo - Chilwell - Telles (kilman - Mitchell)
    KDB - Bruno - Salah - Grealish - Ziyech
    Watkins - Antonio - Bamford

Playing 3-5-2 with rotating strikers depending on fixtures. 0.1itb.

Is clyne nailed on For palace? Or is he getting minutes because of all the injuries?
Need a cheapo defender and his fixtures seem better than walker peters or Taylor’s

Mitchell is back, seeing some say he could fill in at right back but don't know if that is wishful thinking

"Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Alex Telles and Victor Lindelof were among those reporting to the AON Complex for training. But Harry Maguire (foot) and Edinson Cavani, along with Jesse Lingard and Eric Bailly were missing." - Manchester Evening News

    Idea for Fantasy Football Scout....

Instead of the Good and Great segment. How about the Bad, Unlucky, and Regrettable.

It would be awesome to see what 10-dudes (that consistently rank between 500K and 2M after playing for 5 years) say. Then the rest of us would say, "By God! I better not get Ziyech! The Bad, Unlucky, and Regrettable guys love him"

They would leave other valuable clues, like..."I watch Andy's pod cast every week", "I always make my trade after drinking a Miller Lite", or "I always have one French Forward, no matter what"

    Just saying...
