Mitrovic benched for Fulham as Richarlison returns for Everton

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£5.7m) had appeared to be another international break casualty for Fantasy Premier League bosses in Gameweek 9.

Having been on Serbia duty following Fulham’s calamitous penalty situation involving Ademola Lookman (£5.0m) back in Gameweek 8, Mitrovic finds himself on the bench for Everton’s visit on Sunday afternoon.

However, when asked by BBC Sport if the decision to demote Mitrovic was related to fitness or tactics, Scott Parker responded:

Mainly tactical, really. Obviously Aleks has come back from international duty.

The team I’ve decided to go with today is a team that I feel can hurt Everton, can cause them problems.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid (£5.3m) looks set to lead the Fulham line ahead of an attacking midfield trio of Lookman, Tom Cairney (£5.3m) and Ivan Cavaleiro (£5.3m).

Lookman missed a last-minute penalty in GW8 as Fulham lost 1-0 to West Ham

Having missed the last three gameweeks through suspension, Richarlison (£7.8m) returns to the Everton starting line-up.

On the Brazilian attacker’s absence coinciding with a poor run of form for the Toffees, Ancelotti stated in his pre-match press conference:

We didn’t lose because Richarlison wasn’t there. He’s a striker and the problem we had was that we didn’t defend properly.

He’s really important for us, a top player and it’s important to have him.

He has everything, I think he can reach the top level in football. He’s still young but a really humble guy, I think he can be at the top soon.

The Everton manager could possibly be going for a formation switch at Craven Cottage, with Alex Iwobi (£5.9m) included in the Toffees’ XI along with Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.8m) and James Rodriguez (£7.9m).

The Italian also had some interesting words on Rodriguez’s position on Friday.

“His position is number 10. It doesn’t matter if he is a little to the right, his best position is to the front. It doesn’t matter in the middle or to the right. Every game he has played in the front.” – Carlo Ancelotti

Ben Godfrey (£5.0m) deputises at right-back for the injured Seamus Coleman (£4.9m), with natural full-back Jonjoe Kenny (£4.3m) not in the matchday sqaud.

Fulham XI: Areola; A Robinson, Adarabioyo, Andersen, Aina; Reed, Lemina; Lookman, Cairney Cavaleiro; De Cordova-Reid.

Everton XI: Pickford; Digne, Keane, Mina, Godfrey; Iwobi, Allan, Doucouré; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Rodriguez.

Planning transfers over the next 3 GWs, which do you prefer please?

    A) Zouma, Son, Grealish
    B) Cancelo, Son, Abraham
    C) Cancelo, Ziyech, Grealish/Rodriguez (-4)

    D) Cancelo, Son, Grealish (-8)

Thinking B as I get to keep Son (will be losing Kane for Salah), get Cancelo for City's fixture run and a Chelsea attacker (Abraham) after losing Ziyech. Hoping Abraham will keep his spot and Grealish less attractive with Barkley's injury?

    Would leave me with:

    Martinez
Chilwell, Cancelo, Justin (rotating with Kilman/Mitchell)
    Salah, KDB, Fernandes, Son
    DCL, Abraham, Bamford

    (Steer, Kilman, Bissouma, Mitchell)

    Cheers

Justin & Abraham are transfers waiting to happen.

      Castagne & Watkins/Antonio.

Watkins may partially cover Grealish points, as you don't have him.

Cheers - food for thought. D doesn't seem great value with the -8 compared to A and B is my concern. C means no Son and losing Kane I really want some Spurs coverage. B is the only option that gets me Spurs plus Chelsea attacking coverage so swaying towards that and hoping Villa don't go nuts! Cheers

I think it will be THE deciding factor of this season. When to swap Spurs assets if need to swap in the first place. I see a lot of "experts" riding the fixture swing and the fixtures make form mantra but most of them bandwagoned too soon and are falling victims of their own prejudice, something that someone (sorry I can't remember who) wrote an article about here at FFS.

Never let your past assumptions cloud your present judgment and decisions. How in the world the main topic is about selling the 2 main assets from the team leading the league? The 2 top scorers of the game? It's madness. It's like Liverpool is top of the league firing and full of confidence and people are discussing when to drop Salah & Mané. Mind boggling.

    1. TheDragon
      • 5 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

Because if you don’t own Vardy and KDB next few weeks - lots will captain and there is potential for huge huge swings

It’s purely the age old question of form vs fixtures

Its an attempt to get more points. Speculation and prediction is what this game is all about.

Can work, can backfire. Sitting back is not a strategy everyone follows.

If I do sell Kane, I'm fully aware of the fact that it can heavily backfire but if I don't try something to improve my rank, then why am I even playing this game?

They'll most likely both tick over in the next few with a goal or assist here and there but I don't see any big hauls.

I still have Kane and will probably get Son back nearer the xmas schedule.

In the meantime the spare cash allows me to jump on players with the potential for some monster scores (Vardy against Fulham, etc).

Son or Ziyech if must. Son plays no. 9 -ish for a counter attack Mou's team. One goal in low scoring games is all what you need for a double-digit return. Ziyech needs to do a lot (2-3x assists to get similar points) albeit cheaper due to CHE points distribution. So keep Son probably.

    Good or bad moves?

    Robbo & DCL > Castagne & Vardy

      Don't sell DCL before Leeds.

Probably better to delay one more week

I'd prefer to wait for the fixture turn before losing DCL, especially with his ownership.

Auba and Mane will be by far the highest scoring captains this gameweek.

    What about Foden?

Has surely got to start these next two home games allows me to get City Coverage while keeping the spurs boys?

To put it simply if he was nailed these next 2 would you consider?

Chances of Salah dropping another 0.1? Means I can get him for free when Liverpool play Wolves.

Sold at 12.2 so another drop or two would be a bonus!
