Who are the best FPL captain options for Gameweek 11?

Fantasy Premier League managers arguably have more choice for the Gameweek 11 captaincy than first thought.

With the deadline moved to Saturday morning following the postponement of Newcastle’s trip to Aston Villa, Fantasy managers have been gifted an extra day to dwell on the destination of their next armband.

We should use that time wisely, testing Manchester City’s meeting with Fulham against the other appealing fixtures this weekend, comparing underlying statistics for players and team defences alike.

As this article uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

Captain Poll

For the first time in several weeks, we have a runaway captain poll winner again. It is Kevin De Bruyne (£11.7m) this time as he gathered over 47% of votes ahead of an appealing home fixture against relegation-threatened Fulham at the Etihad Stadium. 

That number might even increase closer to the deadline as anyone considering Jack Grealish (£7.7m) or Callum Wilson (£6.5m) will almost certainly look elsewhere for a solid captain choice.

Following yet another away from home haul, Bruno Fernandes (£10.9m) sits second in the poll, although he still only managed to get the support of 9.0%. The Portuguese international and his team will visit a West Ham United that has been a little fortunate not to concede more heavily in recent weeks.

The remaining three picks in the top five list (if we exclude Grealish for now) are Jamie Vardy (£10.3m | 6.9%), Mohamed Salah (£12.2m | 5.3%) and Riyad Mahrez (£8.3m, 5.2%).

      B is safer and less of a differential. Personally I'd go A as long as Antonio is 100% fit and back in the side.

      probably D, I dont advocate taking out good players when they have good fixtures, ie Ziyech & Son.

          KDB probably will haul, as I said I just dont like doing that personally, not to say its wrong or bad if you did so. Its free so that probably justifys it tbh, but for a hit it would be bad imo.

    Is selling Barnes for Jota the best use of my FT?

    Unfortunately I will be stuck playing either Ayling or Brewster, both of whom I expect to be 1 or 2 pointers. Don't think it's worth taking a hit right now unless I were to get someone like Neto instead of Jota in order to fund upgrading Brewster to Che Adams

      I would imagine Brendan would have learned his lesson when he benched Barnes last week and will start him this week. Never know with him, though, he does love a tinker depending on opposition

      Bednarek, dont really watch him but he has to have more atatcking chances then KWP, and a differential of sorts in comparison to KWP

        My thinking as well, Pep mentioned in an interview after the champions league game that it was now time to focus on the league so i feel he will play his best teams if possible and as they have qualified it doesn't matter what happens in the midweek champions league game so can give some of the others a run out.

    Going into this GW without a City player.

    Should I sell Bruno, Son or Grealish to fit KDB or Mahrez?

    Bruno:
    Average fixtures and average team form but stellar individual form. could buy him back in GW13 when Vardy goes

    Grealish:
    Blank this GW but amazing fixtures afterwards, embedded value in the player, form, sure player through xmas

    Son:
    Tough fixtures but derby is next and he played well in Europa.

      FWIW I have the same players and am doing Son > KDB. I know Arsenal are crap but Arteta is capable of setting out a team for a bore draw, and I see it being a cagey affair. Will 100% captain KDB, whereas I wouldn't captain Son this GW.

        Is it mad to go without KDB, or for that matter, any city attack this week? I brought Vardy in last week and would really have to downgrade him to bring KDB in for Hamez. I'm not interested in selling Son or Bruno just now and I'd like to keep Grealish. Any suggestions? 1FT 3.0M ITB
