Vardy and van Aanholt suffer from festive rotation as Palace host Leicester

Festive rotation has struck Fantasy Premier League managers as early as the first match of Gameweek 16 as Crystal Palace host Leicester City.

Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) is the biggest name to fall foul of the busy schedule, named on the bench with Kelechi Iheanacho (£5.6m) handed his usual centre-forward role.

The striker, who sits behind only Harry Kane (£11.0m) for most points among forwards this season (106), is joined among the Leicester substitutes by Youri Tielemans (£6.4m) and Çaglar Söyüncü (£5.3m) returning from injury.

However, Vardy is not the only Foxes asset to miss out on Gameweek 16, James Maddison (£7.2m), Wesley Fofana (£5.0m) and Timothy Castagne (£5.7m) all missing out on the matchday squad entirely.

The central midfielder is managing an ongoing knee issue so sits out for precautionary reasons, while Fofana is in a similar position for a knock.

As a result, Harvey Barnes (£6.7m) is the most dangerous Fantasy asset to earn a start at Selhurst Park, involved in five goals this season.

James Justin‘s (£5.0m) impressive powers of recovery earn him yet another start, having already played every minute this season.

Crystal Palace have also undergone necessary Christmas rotation with Tyrick Mitchell (£3.9m) coming in for his first start since Gameweek 6, pushing Patrick van Aanholt (£5.4m) back to the bench.

The left-back is joined there by Eberechi Eze (£5.8m) while Jairo Riedewald (£4.4m) comes in for his first start since Gameweek 9.

Line-ups

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; Mitchell, Tomkins, Kouyaté, Clyne; Schlupp, Riedewald, Milivojevic, A Townsend; Zaha, Benteke.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel; Thomas, Evans, Amartey, Justin; N Mendy, Choudhury; H Barnes, Praet, Pérez; Iheanacho.

Welcome to the Gameweek 15 round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions.

    FFSCOUT OPEN-TO-ALL MINI-LEAGUE

Maruf Hossain is still top of our open-to-all Fantasy Football Scout mini-league (league code 5u05vz) as he has been ever since he joined it in Gameweek 10. He is 14 points ahead of Fionn Hayes but has slipped to fifth overall.

We are still the third Best League in FPL, based on the average score of the top five teams in each league, but Pro Pundit Andy LTFPL’s http://www.youtube.com/letstalkfpl has overtaken us and is now in second place.
Our current top five are Maruf Hossain, Fionn Hayes, Will Thorp, Markus Løland and Dipak Khatiwada, all of whom are in the overall top 82.

    FFSCOUT COMMUNITY MEMBERS LEAGUE

Maruf is also still top of our Fantasy Football Scout Community Members mini-league, but his lead over Peter Barone has been cut to 15 points.
This is open to anyone with a registered Fantasy Football Scout account – paid or free; the code is shown on the Members home page and in the Scout Leagues widget when signed in.

    HEAD-TO-HEAD LEAGUES

Ville Tuominen (Santigold) lost to Al Black in League 1 and now has 33 points out of a possible 45, two points ahead of Tim Hill and Milan Mihajlovic.
Muzammil Shaikh, the only manager to have won all his first 14 head-to-head matches, was beaten by Pierre van der Westhuizen in Gameweek 15.
The leading managers are now Chris Astin (League 7 Division 18) and four managers from League 9 – Kris Doherty (Division 9), Muzammil (Division 38), Jeffin Jose (Division 62) and Atang Bingana (Division 122), all of whom are on 42 points.
See our main Head-to-Head page for further information about the head-to-head leagues.

    LAST MAN STANDING

TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing competition is open until Gameweek 18, but new entrants must have passed all previous safety scores to qualify; the code is 48n69x.
The safety score for Gameweek 15 was 43 points, with 157 managers eliminated (including myself) and 1,521 going through to Gameweek 16.
Ragabolly’s https://www.livefpl.net/LMS can be used for checking the live safety scores.

    ELITE COMMUNITY MINI-LEAGUES

Bob Wooster played his wildcard and took the lead in my Top 10k Any Season mini-league (league code: 8kcvzq). He is now up to 315th overall, one point ahead of last week’s leader Alaa Khaled Mokhtar.

Mike Varcoe still tops PDM’s Top 1k ANY season mini-league (league code: 2agvvx), 24 points ahead of Phil Olorenshaw, despite slipping to 656th overall

Mike and Phil are also now first and second in Chaballer’s Hall of Fame >Top 1k< mini-league (league code: mr8dyh).
They are 357th and 548th respectively in our Career Hall of Fame.

It is now seven Gameweeks at the top of Skooldaze’s FPL Vets 2006 or before mini-league for Andy Short, who has now entered the top thousand in 607th position and has increased his lead over Anoop K still further to 60 points.

Burhan Samaan (Suarezista) still tops my Multiple Top 10k Finishes mini-league (league code: 8t42p6) but has slipped to 22,872nd overall and is now only five points ahead of Elias Kharma (@FPLMason).

2017/18 Champion Yusuf Sheikh has regained the lead in Simon March’s FPL Champions League and is now 259k overall, ten points ahead of 2013/14 Champion Tom Fenley. Simon drops from first to fourth.

    PROS AND CONS

The Fantasy Football Scout Network mini-league is for the Scout Network and includes six of the 11 Pro Pundits.
FFS Front End Developer Joe Collett is up to 28,132nd overall and has increased his lead over Beraht Thapa (Americans Talk FPL) to 14 points.

Fabio Borges is still the highest ranked Pro Pundit and has now risen to 16,330th overall.

Another Pro Pundit, Andy LTFPL, has taken the lead in the FFS Mods & Cons mini-league and is up to 52,265th overall, two points ahead of Neale Rigg (Skonto Rigga) and six ahead of last week’s leader Jack Penn (ZoumasBloomers).

    OTHER COMMUNITY MINI-LEAGUES

Daniel Coughlan is the new leader of Greyhead’s The Next Great and The Good mini-league and is up to 6,274th overall, ten points ahead of Md Masud Parves and 12 ahead of long time leader Stephen Kearney.
Daniel is only in his second season; last year he finished 45,397th.

My January to May League (league code h62bh1) will start scoring in Gameweek 17. Last season this was won by Will Timbers (TopMarx); over 500 teams have already entered.
