The Fantasy Flutter: Betting odds on the midweek Premier League action 3

BE DE-SAISS-IVE

Romain Saïss‘ recent goal-scoring form could continue when Wolves host Everton on Tuesday evening.

Over the last four matches, the Toffees rank inside the bottom four for headed goal attempts conceded, which bodes well for the Moroccan centre-back.

During that same period, he ranks top among defenders for shots in the box and producing two goals in the process.

The fact that he is 22/1 to open the scoring at Molineux, or 9/1 to net anytime, is attractive indeed.

Meanwhile, if Richarlison can win his fitness race, his odds of 7/1 to get the first goal appeal too.

The return of Lucas Digne and James Rodríguez to Everton’s line-up, and absence of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin could ensure more high-quality service to Richarlison’s left-flank. Wolves have conceded 23 chances down the right-hand side over the last six matches, compared to just eight through the middle.

RASH DECISIONS

Marcus Rashford could benefit from Burnley’s own problems defending wide areas in Blank Gameweek 18.

The Clarets have conceded the second-highest number of chances down the right-hand side over the last four matches, somewhere Rashford could do damage at Turf Moor.

If Paul Pogba is unable to start Tuesday’s short road trip, the England international should reclaim his left-sided attacking midfield role, from which he has six goals and four assists away from home this season.

In fact, Rashford has no Premier League blanks on the road in 2020/21, which is why his first-scorer odds of 4/1 on Tuesday look good.

Each Way First Goalscorers

THE BIG GUNS

Ilkay Gündogan has been creeping under the radar in recent weeks, recording three goals in his last four Premier League appearances.

The two most recent of those have come in a more advanced role for Manchester City, which has helped him even outperform his esteemed colleagues Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling over the last four matches.

Despite playing marginally fewer minutes than both of them, the German international has a higher total for shots in the box and big chances.

That’s why Gündogan’s odds of 10/1 to be the first scorer at the Etihad Stadium are worth considering.

He has both the underlying statistics and the form to back up his appeal in a favourable home fixture – Brighton have just two clean sheets on the road this season.

Elsewhere, Sheffield United’s meeting with Newcastle is 6/1 for a 0-0 and Alexandre Lacazette, who has four goals in his last three, is 10/3 to open the scoring for Arsenal against Crystal Palace.

I don't think so, Shrewsbury postponed their game on Saturday against Lincoln, because of a new Covid outbreak. I honestly don't think they'll be able to play on the next Wednesday against Soton either. I suppose the thry have to do another round of testing on the weekend or even start of the next week, so that everyone could be safe in case of another outbreak.

so the fact that my wc picks fabianski and balbuena werent even on the bench yesterday means that basically my bench boost is a disaster. Anyone got any news on fabianski?

    Gw19bb:

    Areola (Johnstone)
    Cancelo-Stones-Tierney-Lindelol (Coufal)
    Kdb-Bruno-Son-Saka (Soucek)
    Kane-Laca (Bamford)

Similar to me mate, although I have upgraded Lindelof and Johnstone to AWB and Martinez (not sure whether I'll hold him) by doing Saka to Smith Rowe.

Considering going without Salah in 19 and doing Kane to Vardy and ESR to Raphinha for a -4 if Leeds still have a double.

Whats your thoughts about Holdin and awb instead of Tierney and lindelöf?

          1. Rains of Castamere
            • 9 Years
            3 years, 2 months ago

            Sorry, nursery run.

I would probably go Holding and AWB... Lindelof isn't nailed, Bailly has been really impressive recently and there's no chance he misses out completely in the next three, which essentially means SGW 19 for Lindelof and a chance that he doesn't play tonight - for me that risk isn't worth taking. Yes you lose some attacking thrust (Tierney) but for surety of gametime I'd go Holding-AWB.

RE: Salah, it's a gamble but he's just so damn expensive and me team is better balanced without him. Liverpool have looked quite toothless recently and he'll be up against two deep blocks (United-Burnley), yes he could haul but I'm backing those two teams to keep it pretty tight and hopefully restrict him to limited returns.

    -12 or WC?

WC would allow me to make Forster to Fabianski trade this week (-16), which gives me 2FTs for after gw19 to do Fabianski back to Forster and Soucek to Smith-Rowe.

Would much prefer to take out Aurier & AWB for cheaper bench fodders and play Saka along with Wilson or Laca upfront.

hedging too much in defence on a FH can turn out to be not so fun.

Agreed, but at the end of the the points matter.

And I believe Spurs def outscores Wilson. Having Wilson is boring. Newcastle will sit back. They don't score goals away from home.

6 pointer over 2 pointer. Don't mind if I am called boring for this

Doherty and Davies started the cup game.
You would expect Reguilon and aurier to start the PL match?

Alder is a safe bet, and one of the fullback would be great.

Re sterling, I tried making a draft with sterling , but short of good 1.4M to have 15 players

How's this first FH draft? Could potentially downgrade a City defender to Stones to raise funds or alternatively go double City attack...

Wasn't planning on FHing but the Villa postponement has killed me:

    Lloris (4.0)
    Cancelo Dias Saiss Tierney
    KDB Bruno Saka Son
    Kane Laca

Looks solid, same situ here being forced into FH ref Villa and DCL injury. Same team here except I've gone Rash Wilson Stones for Laca Dias Saiss (352). I'm hesitant to triple on Arsenal considering they don't play until Thurs. We've seen how the landscape can change over 48hrs lol. Good luck.

Only 6 players playing this week -

    Holding Stones Dier
    Son Bruno
    Kane

I had set up to navigate this GW without using any chips, but now with Villa not playing (Grealish, Konsa), DCL injured and Bissouma suspended, it is looking difficult. I have 2 FTs. Should I take a hit and play with 9 or just FH/WC this week? If I am not using my chips, my transfers would be -

DCL, Konsa, Bissouma -> Wilson, Dias and Gundogan/Saka for a -4
