Captain Sensible

Who are the best FPL captain options for Double Gameweek 19?

Fantasy Premier League managers are advised to target assets who play twice in the first Double Gameweek of the season when looking for their next captain.

With each of the current top four clubs, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester City, each playing twice during Double Gameweek 19, the most popular premium assets are leading the armband discussion.

As always, we have taken a look into the best options in great detail, using the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area to assess individual form and the state of their opponents’ defences.

CAPTAIN POLL

For the second week running, Manchester City’s maestro Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) leads the Fantasy Football Scout captain poll, this time with just over 37.0% of votes.

The Belgian shares the vast majority of votes with Mohamed Salah (£12.5m, 26.0%), who comes back into our consideration after missing out on a match in Blank Gameweek 18.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.3m, 7.0%), Jamie Vardy (£10.1m, 5.1%) and Tomas Soucek (£5.3m, 4%) complete this week’s top-five list.

In order to tackle this Double Gameweek captaincy debacle effectively, we will analyse Gameweek 19’s key teams and assets separately, as opposed to focusing on the key matches, as we usually do.

The Bench Boost. I have a better core than expected.

Also this Leeds news is a little bit insane. If they get a DGW and I have Bamford and Dallas on the bench I don't think I could forgive myself...

Doing a complete 180 right now and thinking a fully rested Salah with two home games, one being Burnley, with Thiago back should be a no-brainer cap even if KDB's there with his looming presence and many missed 1 on 1s

    1. Camzy

It's not Thiago back, it's Matip back which then puts Henderson back in midfield.

Last time they played Matip and a proper midfield, they won 7-0 at Palace.

Brewster is 1 point max this week, and might not even get that. I've gone with BDR at Fulham - Mitro still isnt ready, and they've got 2 home games.
Whether its worth a hit is another matter, but it would be a bench worth boosting

I don’t really rate Salah, KDB or Fernándes to haul Over this DGW for various reasons - namely form fixtures and fatigue

Is there any mileage in captaining either a Man City defender or dare I say it, West Ham defender?

yes he didn't start last 2 games and from everything pep has said in the past he holds sterling at high regard. Now that he is fit I just can't see him not starting. And I also have a doubt that kdb won't start 1st game. If so, sterling will take penalties i think.

Definitely don't BB. DCL blank and Forster blank with only 1 FT. Then all of your bench would be only SGW players, it'll be like playing BB on any normal gw (so a waste).

    McCarthy
    Robertson / Cancelo / Coufal
    Salah / Fernandes / Son / Soucek
    Vardy / Bamford / DCL*

    Forster // Raphinha / Alioski / Taylor*

A tiny bit gung-ho, but with fair logic...

    #1 McCarthy > Martinez
    #2 DCL > Antonio
    #3 Son > KDB
    #4 Alioski > Mitchell

#1 as DGW, and has future DGWs, and better fixtures.

#2 Punt but a free one at that. Helps free funds.

#3 Have been hesitant up till now, but KDBs has a DGW and far better fixtures. I might even ship Son next week, so might as well do it now?

#4 Purely an enabler but Alioski more at risk with Cooper/Llorente back.

    Thoughts?

      Neither really

McCarthy will play so you are banking on Fulham to keep a clean sheet to cover the hit which is long ask

And swapping salah for KDB for a bit isn’t worth it as salah could easily match Kev
