Should we reconsider Everton’s FPL attackers for Gameweek 20 and beyond?

With no match in Double Gameweek 19, have Everton gone under the Fantasy Premier League radar ahead of Gameweek 20?

That’s what we are pondering in this latest article as the Toffees face a period of appealing fixtures.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men had fans on the edge of their seats at the start of the season and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m) became a near-essential pick after delivering returns in eight of his first nine games.

Lucas Digne (£6.0m) was thriving as a maurauding left-back, providing five assists in 10 matches and summer signing James Rodríguez (£7.7m) hit the ground running in the Premier League.

However, as we look towards Gameweek 20, it is a very different story for Everton’s attacking assets.

With no goals in five games and a hamstring injury threatening to keep him out for the next few, Calvert-Lewin has been sold by nearly a million players

Digne and Rodríguez, once well-owned assets, are now in just around 13% of squads combined.

With FPL players selling Everton players en masse, we take a look at their underlying numbers to see if any of them are worth keeping for their appealing schedule.

Vardy > Kane cause he is a better captain option for gw21
Also Rashford can be another great alternative to KDB

Bit perplexed with the Rashford love ; United don't have a regular scorer, they're reliant on mistakes from opposition or worldies . . . Rashford did have a nice time out against Sheff Utd last time but they've changed a lot since then.

Brought him in for DGW if he doesn't haul vs SHU it will be a disaster move for me.

So many options to replace KDB with...

    Salah (-4)
    Grealish
    Pogba
    Zaha (?)
    Maddison
    Barnes
    Gundogan

I think I'll go with Grealish and then Saka > Maddison in GW21.

He's always on my watchlist but form and fixtures aren't really good.

That's why I'd rather go with a cheaper replacement.

Liverpool need their defense back ; if Matip comes back Salah looks a better bet.

Why not? Our centre backs are extremely important to our attack. It’s pretty plain to see.

Didn't see that but maybe you are right. Personally I think it is only about converting chances. Firmino had like 7 sitters in last 3 games which he failed to convert..

He has missed a few but we’re not creating anywhere near as much clear cut chances these days. With our engine room Henderson at the back and not able to press in midfield along with Fabinhos energy the forwards quite simply can not be fed as normal. It’s made a massive difference.

Yeah totally agree. We can’t function as a unit with our two very important mids playing at the back.

The stats don't agree with you and Gundo is not part of the front 3. He isn't in rotation roulette with Mahrez, Sterling, Foden, Jesus, Torres etc. He has also started all of the last 7 league games.

Gundo and Kane is the far better option if you ask me.

His underlying stats are good, his score on FPL is good, so I am on the gundo bandwagon, I am sure now he will be benched, however I have bench issues myself so don't mind the occasional non appearance.

This. Instead of Vardy to Kane I can keep Vardy and sell Bamford for Kane in GW21

So everyone is doing KDB -> Gundogan and then figuring out what to do with all the spare $?

        Gundogan, Maddison, Rashford,Grealish. Cant decide.

Think I will just have ESR 1st sub with Vardy, Kane and Antonio up top. Salah, Fernandes, Son, Gundogan.

        20: KDB > Gundogan
        21: Saka > Grealish/Maddison/Pogba

Still £ in the bank afterwards though.

Certainly makes it more interesting. Arsenal assets aren't bad for the DGW, but think I'll need to get Maddison and Justin in alongside Vardy. Hoping to 'avoid' Grealish for now, and don't really fancy Pogba.

Any KDB replacement worth taking a -8 for? (already had -4 to take him in)

Already had made transfers (-4) to get KDB in for next GW. Now that he is out for 2-3 week I'm wondering:
if there's any player worth taking another hit to get in? or no further transfers and start Soucek or Alioski

You have to write your -4 off, surely the question is, is there anyone worth taking a -4 for? I'm going for Gundogan, if that's any help.

Yeah, very true. I'm thinking to much about the lost points instead of those that could be gained this GW. Wonderful life of FPL, I'm still Top 30k with all three chips so I suppose easy enough to make up for.

If you're top 30K then just go with your gut instinct which must have been spot on so far!

You took the -4 to get him in for WBA?
I'm confused why you would be bringing him in for next week when you didn't have him for the DGW?

        1. John Nerdelbaum
          • 11 Years

Of course he would have done well against WBA but he had Palace and Villa at home in the DGW.
Just seems a bit strange, a bit like me not having Salah and taking a hit to bring him in before he plays tonight

You seem to be deliberating about past choices which I cannot change, if you are curious, its because I couldn't afford to without taking several hits; I left Son in place instead. However, I was going to used my BB but the rearranging of games affected that. So I planned to get him in for WBA, but, yeah, early transfer has buggered me there.

That's why I was wondering whether to take another hit to get someone else in; whether to leave for this gameweek and have a sub play or hold completely.

OK, so you've taken out Son for KDB? What other transfer have you made?
He has a hamstring tear so it looks like he is a doubt for the Pool game. In that case he will miss West Brom, Sheffield United and Burnley so you can't leave an 12m asset on the bench for that time.
I would probably sell him this week but depends on who you have to sub in for him

oh I see you've got Soucek/Alioski. Not too bad, I'd probably start Alioski and then ship KDB next week.
You'd probably want a City mid this week and next though

Yeah, perhaps KDB to Gundogan/Maddison is the move, I just think WBA will park the bus same as last time.

No I haven't actually, is it good?

Think I will only have him as vice captain - but if Bruno is benched he will hopefully do the job 🙂

me - works out well as was loosing at fundraising for Kane

Will do KDB > Gundo this week

next week have funds for either Soucek > Son
        one of Bam/Antonio/Watkins > Kane

Happy for Gundo to be a 3 week punt for fixtures, likely being pens and limitted compettion in the middle makes him look fairly assured of minutes (can't see Rodri and Fernandino needed on pitch at same time for these fixtures)
