Should we reconsider Everton’s FPL attackers for Gameweek 20 and beyond?

With no match in Double Gameweek 19, have Everton gone under the Fantasy Premier League radar ahead of Gameweek 20?

That’s what we are pondering in this latest article as the Toffees face a period of appealing fixtures.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men had fans on the edge of their seats at the start of the season and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m) became a near-essential pick after delivering returns in eight of his first nine games.

Lucas Digne (£6.0m) was thriving as a maurauding left-back, providing five assists in 10 matches and summer signing James Rodríguez (£7.7m) hit the ground running in the Premier League.

However, as we look towards Gameweek 20, it is a very different story for Everton’s attacking assets.

With no goals in five games and a hamstring injury threatening to keep him out for the next few, Calvert-Lewin has been sold by nearly a million players

Digne and Rodríguez, once well-owned assets, are now in just around 13% of squads combined.

With FPL players selling Everton players en masse, we take a look at their underlying numbers to see if any of them are worth keeping for their appealing schedule.

Looks like I'm gonna go into the next GW with a stating XI worth only 73.6m (SV). 7.8 ITB and 20.1 on the bench.

If I keep KDB and play Smith Rowe, that'll be 72.5 in the starting XI and 27.4 on the bench 😮

Did you know that humans wouldn't exist without having eaten oysters while at its lowest population count? Molluscs are a better saviour than Jesus.

Well that's fascinating. Does that make vegetarianism a sin in the eyes of God?

Also, sorry rest of the animal population - we may be the ones making y'all extinct but the molluscs enabled us back in like 200,000 BC.

    Any options standing out here?
    Some options-
    Dallas/Coufal -> Shaw.
    Soucek -> Gundogan/Saka.
    Robbo -> Cancelo/Dias.

    McCarthy.
    Robbo, Stones, Coufal.
    Salah, Son, Mane, Fernandes, Soucek.
    Antonio, Bamford.
    Forster, Dallas, Brewster, Ferguson.
1ft, 0.8m ITB. WC, BB left- Prob 25 and 26 for those chips.

Similar decisions I’m looking at. Robbo looks due a haul any week now, so I’m holding on to him myself most likely. Soucek to gundo looks to be a decent shout.

Yeah. Could do Soucek/ Mane/ Bam-> Gund/Grealish/Kane for exact cash over the next 2 weeks.

Would be a hit but maybe worth it.

Is a Maddison and Vardy double up against Everton too much? Was going to hold my FT to move Vardy to Ings and probably El Ghazi to Maddison next week but no point in leaving KDB there losing value. Want to get Zaha in later on too but not sure if I ought to do that now with them playing West Ham and him possibly being injured anyway

City will be lucky to score 2 goals in the next 3 games without a proper striker or their number 10....

Double City defence is plenty of coverage before the fixture turn

They're doing just fine. But 2 defenders and a mid seems sensible.

Their whole team is number 10s. They just need to bench Jesus and play with a wooden stake up top.

Stick with this team for the upcoming GW given KdB is unlikely to fall or make changes? Starred are players I am considering transferring out (eventually).

    Martinez
    Dias - Stones - Dallas
    Bruno - Grealish* - Raphinha* - Soucek
    Wilson* - Bamford - Kane

    Mendy, KdB*, Robbo*, Coufal

    0 ITB

The easy choice would be to bench Soucek and do KdB > Gundo before the latter rises or KdB > Sterling, or even KdB > Salah. As an alternative, I can also do KdB + Grealish >> Salah + Gundo for a hit.

I want to give Wilson one last shot against Leeds's defense before shipping him. I'd have turned Raphinha into Gundo already, but am just short of funds and not sure I want to spend to make that happen (it would likely be Wilson + Raph > Antonio + Gundo, but it feels a bit premature to do it this week).

I had wanted to do Grealish > El Ghazi for a while and actually pulled the plug last week before FHing and nullifying that transfer, but am now glad I didn't.

If I were to WC right now, it would probably look something like this:

    Martinez - Areola
    Dias - Stones - Shaw - Dallas - Coufal
    Salah - Bruno - Maddison - Gundogan - Burke
    Kane - Vardy - Bamford

Bringing him in in FPL or his approach to goalscoring? (aim for the largest part of the goal even though there is a large amount of keeper there).

      1. Deulofail
        • 8 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

His shooting. Bringing him in in FPL isn't so bad as you might get the odd occasion that the GK spins the ball directly into Jesus's wooden face and it bouces straight into the goal. Or a deflection from a his own GKs goal kick. Or maybe the opponent's GK will be distracted eating some pork scratchings.

I'm doing KDB -> Gundo for -4. Not sure about Cancelo for a hit given James has a relatively decent fixture. Sure you'll make the points up over next few weeks anyway.

    4. Stormbringer22

I would prioritise KDB out if confirmed out for a few weeks. Not sure I would do the James > Cancelo for an additional -4 since you already have at least some City defensive cover. Cancelo due a haul very soon though so maybe bring him in the week after.

This is why I want to do it now. But yeah I guess I can wait on Cancelo move. James has BUR in GW21 so I could defer it even until GW22 if I want.

I'd be interested in the other moves you're considering.

I do think James > Cancelo is a good move, but I hate defender hits - even if Cancelo hardly is one.

KDB > Gundo - again, a -4 is tough but you do need to sell KDB. I'm just not yet convinced Gundo is the best option, but it obviously depends on individual teams

Kev > Gundo leaves so much cash itb, you need never be mugged into making an early transfer again.

I'm not really considering any other moves tbh. Just non-moves i.e. waiting until next week

I think Gundo is the best KdB replacement. I did a stat comparison between him and Sterling for past 6 weeks and Gundo wins. He has higher xG, more shots, more goal attempts, everything. Now he'll have pens too with KdB out.

I also have Salah, Fernandes, Son, Grealish in midfield already so not clamoring for any other big hitters.

Both these moves also still leaves enough money ITB to do Davis > Kane next week for free.

Basically, is the hit for both worth it now or defer one of them for future weeks.

I could for instance hold James for two weeks through WOL BUR before shipping for Cancelo and that saves me the -4.

        1. Andy_Social

Make the move. Too much to hold on a bench

Many better alternatives for KdB replacements not named Son or Pogba.

Struggling with a similar question myself, though. I'm currently starting Soucek and Dallas, but am not feeling good about either of them.

If you are considering to bring in Pogba already, why not just this GW when they are playing SHU at home.

hahaha. I have the same dilemma see below. Personally don't have a clue. Waiting for the weekend cup ties to maybe have a breakthrough.

Maybe just start Adams and save? Dunno. Feels like there's going to be a points-chasing run on Gundogan here this week and I just can't bring myself to do the same.

    Team for 20

    Ederson
    Coufal Stones Robertson
    Salah Bruno Rashford Maddison
    Vardy Bamford

    Forster Soucek/Targett Brewster Neco

    Play Soucek or Targett?

    Thanks

Go directly KDB to Son or play Dallas and save transfer.

That will give me the option to reassess and play 2 FT next week.

Will still do KDB to Son most probably but benching Dallas feels wrong somehow, especially against Newcastle.

What you think, what to do?

I have the exact same situation actually. Maybe playing Dallas would be the best option.

In exact same position, as below. Thinking I’ll sell KDB to Gundo but could wait a week for 2FT maybe...

With KDB out, what is the likely effect on Gundo's position in terms of how advanced he gets?

Obvious move of KDB to Gundo for free made even better by KDB injury? Will wait til GW is over obviously. Could enable Kane in soon too! Thoughts? 🙂

    Martinez (Areola)
    Cancelo Stones Coufal (Dallas Pieters)
    Salah Bruno Son KDB** (Soucek)
    Antonio Watkins Bamford

Excluding free hits do many people have players from GW1 still in their team?

    McCarthy, Justin, Salah for me

The excluding FH was because I meant kept in the team not just brought back

      McCarthy, Mitchell, Brewster

I like a lot of consistency in my bench fodder!

Martinez, McCarthy and Salah. I lost Son for the one week when he was supposed to be injured and Haller hauled at United.
