Replacements needed for De Bruyne and Vardy in wake of long-term injuries

A large number of Fantasy Premier League managers now have big transfer decisions to make ahead of Gameweek 20.

In the build-up to the FA Cup fourth round, Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) and Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) were both ruled out for several weeks.

The Belgian came off with a suspected muscle problem in Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Guardiola has now confirmed that De Bruyne will miss the next four to six weeks as he recovers from a hamstring issue.

Meanwhile, Vardy has been dealing with pain from a hernia in recent weeks and Brendan Rodgers has seen fit to get him under the surgeon’s knife to correct the problem.

That has ruled him out for “a few weeks” just as Fantasy managers were considering investment in light of Leicester’s appealing short-term fixtures.

With some managers facing two high-profile absentees in the coming weeks, the number of hits for Gameweek 20 is likely to increase.

This is also the sort of development that could tempt some into deploying the Wildcard.

Either way, the Season Ticker and other Members Area tools are sure to help anyone struggling in light of this news.

Properly screwed by the Vardy and KDB news and facing another -8 to swap them out (having done the same to bring them in).

I would save the 4 points and do KdB to Gundogan this game week then Soucek to Son next game week. Son has Liverpool and Soucek has a good matchup with Crystal Palace.

TAA to Cancelo worth a hit if I am already replacing KdB with my FT?

Just posting the tldr version. Big rant about whether getting Stones intead mkaes sense to strengthen my weakass bench makes sense on the previous page.

Yeah. I'll be making both the moves after the FA Cup round is over. No early transfers for me. Especially when the moves will be downgrading to cheaper players.

Team was well prepped this week till these bloody KDB & Vardy injuries.

Now feel like I have to take a -4, or even a -8 to take advantage of the absences.

    Sigh.

-4 removing the two isn't the worst thing. Many will be in the same boat. Plus a lot who own only one will take a hit to reshuffle the funds. There will be quite a few hits this week I'm guessing.

I dont really understand this. Why would Pep do that when Gundo has been so good at attacking end. And now they are without KDB.

Doubt he will drop Gundo back. He’s got Rodri and Fernandinho for that. Torres and Silva are likely to feature more.

and not take a hit. Do you really think Barnes outscores Soucek/Targett/Dier by 4 points? Do you really think Cavani outscores Adams/Targett/Dier by 4 points?

How much will Vardy drop by? I bought him early, before the double game week, expecting a rise, he dropped 0.1. I'd like to hold off replacing him until closer to deadline day, so I can afford for him to drop another 0.1 and not make any more of a loss, but don't want to lose more than that!

Watkins is a nailed on starter and some really good fixtures coming up....Antonio could be a difference maker but his problems with injuries could either keep him limited in appearances or the congested fixtures could.

People were giving me similar comments before DGW about Antonio. I still got him and glad I did.

Until WH doesn't sign a backup striker, he's definitely a great option.
