Using FFS data and tools to find the best De Bruyne replacement for Gameweek 20

Just when Fantasy Premier League managers thought they could breathe and relax after Double Gameweek 19, many of us now have injury problems to solve.

Ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) has been ruled out for “four to six weeks” with a muscular injury and needs replacing.

When these sorts of developments occur, there is a fantastic opportunity for Fantasy managers. With everyone going in a different direction from a common player all at once, the potential for green arrows goes up – if you can make the right choice. And, because Gameweeks 20 to 23 take place in a span of 14 days, the FPL landscape is going to change very quickly.

Accordingly, I have gone over some De Bruyne replacements to help you make the right choice ahead of Gameweek 20. As this uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

    Play up pompey.

    Gotta play two of:
    a.Robbo
    b.Cresswell
    c.Justin
    d.Soucek

Currently on Cresswell and Justin but feels beyond wrong having Robbo on the bench.

        Pep sounds confident

City attacking returns this season are nothing special at all. Absence of Dilva is one thing - Kun much more so. Gundo is cheap of course but the attraction of a City mid in this attack isn't that compelling to me really.

Long term I think that's a good move. Raphina could hurt you against Newcastle but looking to the future Son is 100% the better option. Soucek's numbers have dropped with Antonio back in the team so maybe do Soucek to Son

I don't either really but my point was, we have got the better of Man United in recent times, plus are better defensively. I think Sterling/Kane are the best options for next week.

After a nice 154-point DWG it's time to start the bench headaches... Please help.
This is rate my team's suggestion, would you go with this?

    Martinez
    Chilwell, Stones, Cancelo
    Salah, Bruno, Gundogan, Grealish
    Watkins, Wilson, Antonio

    Bench: Coufal, Robbo, Soucek, Pope

Feels so wrong to have Coufal and Robbo on the bench, but Watkins is racking up chances, Wilson got AMS and Fraser back to exploit Leeds-defence, although they have just scored 1 in their last 6. I could bench Chilwell, but a reaction is needed from Chelsea and he could do well.

A penny for your thoughts please!

          2,60 on wilson to score
          2,75 on antonio to score
          2,75 on watkins to score

2,17 on chilwell to keep CS
2,85 on coufal to keep CS
3,45 on robbo to keep CS

So looks like I will play chilwell and Wilson at least then.
Pretty close between Antonio, watkins and coufal considering coufal could get attacking points too.

Do I need talking out of getting him this week? Long term move, I believe that with all the supporting cast back at Everton he's going to be scoring again and want to get ahead this week, despite the tricky game v Leicester. Or more sensible to wait a week?

          Bb still to come.

The team that I moved from had Vardy, KDB, Zouma, Kilman, Taylor....having already done a -8 in gw20 I didn’t want to take a further hit. No Everton is a concern as you say

Stats are for son yes but Important to remember those have been in 3 of the easiest fixtures on paper

    Fulham

I feel this is being overlooked a little

Reading this, I kind of regret jumping on the Gündowagon instead of Son as the sensible long term. But hey, those fixtures, and you won't get his penalty points against WBA if not jumping on

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 5 Years

I've been back and forth with Gundo and Son and still undecided. Gundo has the fixture but Son the long term option. I can bring him in 21

Son in for me next gw for sure. More worried I might need to use FT or a hit to get rid of Gündo ahead of dgw26 (no wc...)

Don't know your team, but the big advantage of going this week Gundo is funds for Son/Kane next week

One of them for Soucek, Raphinha, Adams or whoever you might have

Yeah choice for me was really between Son or Gündo this gw (have Kane), given the other transfers I want to make.

I did KDB > Sterling. Hoping he saves my season like he did last one.

I guess the fear is you have to get Bruno ( i think you do)

Defender wise without knowing the rest of your team i'd go Maguire but also City double up, villa defence, punty Chelsea

Would you be tempted to BB this:

    Mccarthy
    Dias - Stones - Coufal
    Salah - Son - Gundo - Bruno(C)
    Bam - Kane - Antonio

    (Johnstone) - Soucek - Justin - Alioski

      Nope

Theres' still a chance that all 20 teams will double in 26.
