Mitchell and van Aanholt start together for Palace side missing injured Zaha

Gameweek 23 comes to a conclusion at a wintry Elland Road this evening as Leeds United take on Crystal Palace.

Kick-off is at 20:00 GMT.

Patrick Bamford (£6.7m) carries the hopes of almost 50% of Fantasy managers this evening, having seen his ownership swell even further in the last Gameweek: just under 250,000 FPL bosses transferred in the striker ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Bamford’s ownership is up around the 85% mark in the top 10k, with Stuart Dallas (£4.8m) also widely owned among this elite group: the Northern Ireland international sits in over one in three of these squads.

As we’ve become accustomed to seeing this season, Leeds are unchanged from their previous game.

There is no Pablo Hernandez (£5.7m) among the substitutes, however, with the veteran playmaker missing out through injury.

The Palace team news is more noteworthy, with Roy Hodgson opting to field Tyrick Mitchell (£3.9m) and Patrick van Aanholt (£5.4m) in the same side.

One of them, likely van Aanholt, will presumably be playing ‘out of position’ further up the left flank.

Hodgson also hands Jean-Philippe Mateta (£5.9m) his debut, with Michy Batshuayi (£5.7m) only on the bench and Wilfried Zaha (£7.2m) absent because of a hamstring problem.

Mitchell and Leeds’ Pascal Struijk (£3.9m) are two of the three cheapest starters of Gameweek 23, with the latter making his eighth successive Bielsa line-up in the Premier League.

The reverse fixture between these two sides ended in a 4-1 win for Palace, a match in which Eberechi Eze (£5.8m) registered his highest FPL score of the season.

Leeds United XI: Meslier, Ayling, Cooper, Struijk, Alioski, Dallas, Klich, Phillips, Harrison, Raphinha, Bamford.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Van Aanholt, Cahill, Dann, Clyne, Mitchell, Milivojevic, Riedewald, Eze, Mateta, Ayew.

What a week. I love moments like this.
Before tonight’s game I was in 41 points and dropped a shed load in rank. I’d benched Martinez and Gundo and was pretty gutted.
I was also well and truly out of the cup as the guy I was against had 2 Leeds players to my 3 but had a 15 point lead.
We both had Bamford, but I had him as captain. But here’s the best bit; I had Dallas and Meslier, who somehow go and get themselves clean sheets and 3 bonus points each to scrape me through and probably end up on a 10th consecutive green arrow with 75 points for the week.
    Happy days.

Wich is more important, double Def or double att on the skyblues?

    A) Mitchel to mee
    B) dias and anguissa to mee and sterling

      Currently on double defence
More upside for sure on double attack though
Not sure Mee outscores Dias though so you’re banking on Sterling haul for option B

With triple Leeds needed in GW 25, suddenly a BB in GW 26 means a 8pt hit, so me not like it that much.

    Anyone trying an alternative?

Or just play Bamford as a single GW player and sell Dallas and Raphinha for-4 ?

You don't have to BB 15 DGW players ...

If one is dropped the pain isn't worth it to try to get there. Then sort it out afterwards too.

Yeah Fudgy I am strongly considering BB this week but still haven't decided.

Check Gonzalocampos on previous page. I think his strategy is sound. BB now, get Leeds players, WC 25. There is fixture change and every strategy has it faults now.

            • 13 Years

why would you BB now and not just WC25, BB26 though? On your WC you can have 3 Leeds and as an example take a -4 hit GW26. That leaves you with 14 DGWers in GW26 and a Leeds player, or -8 and you go full 15 DGWers

      • 13 Years

          Raphinia looked unplayable tonight.
Bamford will be very heavily owned and could nick a couple of goals and captain material.
Dallas is out of position and very attacking. For me he is most essential.
I already have Dallas and Bamford.
          Worth a risk for a minus 4 I reckon.

I hate bench pts so want to get over it. After that will have 3 Leeds and 11 double GW players in GW 26 and get advantage against everyone who will have painful bench pts and bad money distribution

I’ll pick him because he could off bench and do damage. I seriously think it’s a rest opportunity for him. WBA are bloody awful. I’ll pick him but no armband or (v). Even if there weren’t other players on the double game. I still wouldn’t go near a (c) on him for this game.

Too many will focus on returns in doubles.

        Let's see how it falls.

Too many wasted FH in gw18 by the looks with the lure of the double gw and Leeds home to Southampton too. At the time Saints were in some form too.

With Soucek now playing with a fav game vs SHU, would you:

    A) switch to Gund for gw24
    B) forego Gund (own Sterling Dias Stones) and switch Soucek for Raphinha gw25 instead
    C) do both. Soucek to Gund then Gund to Raphinha to maximize dgw

    2FT and 2m itb
    Team is:
    Areola Martinez
    Dias Stones AWB Coufal Mitchell
    Salah Sterling Brunon Grealish Soucek
    DCL Antonio Rodrigo

Will deal with Rodrigo next week

Who are you going to drop from City then? I have a similar situation
You can do Sterling Souchek to Rash Gundo (ManU have 2 lovely fixtures and pogba is injured so Rash should be back to his fav position)
Or get 1 of Bur defenders/Pope

Will appreciate your thought guys on what to do with 2ft and 2.6itb? Scared of going Gundo-less.
    1) Barnes Dallas/Coufal -> Rash Taylor/lowton. Keep current 3 City assets
    2) #1 and Sterling -> Gundo for -4 for security of starts
    3) Barnes Cancelo/Stones -> Gundo Mee. Double up on City attack and get Bur def
    4) Sterling Barnes Johnstone -> Gundo Rash Pope for -4

    Team is:
    Martinez
    Stones - Coufal - Cancelo
    Son - Bruno - Sterling - Barnes
    Laca - DcL - Antonio

    Johnstone, Justin, Dallas, Raphinha

Gundogan likes Baps, so him... I wonder if Pope is going to get many saves with these fixtures. Gundo has also higher ceiling than Pope. People won't be happy to captain him because Sterling is more expensive.

        1. aleksaa2
          • 7 Years
          3 years, 1 month ago

I agree, I honestly think that Gundo is the best option for the captaincy this gw. I just have to decide if I'm going to captain the obvious choice and let my other ten players be my differential or go ham and risk it all. Still haven't decided, but there's plenty of time to do it.

That's very true if a player isn't a premium option, people tend to have so many doubts about captaining him.

          1. Big boy Bowen
            • 7 Years
            3 years, 1 month ago

It’s because said premiums have usually done it for a season or 2 fairly consistently.
I remember Kane’s debut season, 5.5m I believe - had from near on the start but rarely captained him.

            1. aleksaa2
              • 7 Years

I don't know... In the 8 years I've been playing FPL (I was a complete dumbass for the first two, so let's say in the last 6 seasons), I've never had a problem with captaining a budget player who is in form.

I guess it also has to do with the playing style. I am not really a conservative type of a player.

    Salah | Bruno | Son | Grealish | Gundogan
    DCL | Antonio

    Steer | Bamford | Dallas | Mitchell

Is Steer to Areola worth it as the other FT and start him over Martinez?

So many people buy Foden. Why?
