Scoutcast Episode 366 – How to prepare for flurry of FPL Double Gameweeks

Joe and Seb are joined by Karam to look at the key issues facing Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Double Gameweek 24.

With Manchester City, Everton, Burnley and Fulham playing twice in the next set of fixtures, there is plenty for our Scoutcast trio to consider as the gear up for the weekend’s deadline.

That’s just the start of their Double Gameweek planning. Leeds and Southampton have extra matches in Gameweek 25 and there’s a raft of further games to squeeze into the following set of fixtures.

It is a lot of information for FPL managers to take in, especially as this week’s FA Cup games will determine much of the upcoming schedule.

Luckily Seb has decided to Wildcard this week, which provides the Scoutcast with a perfect opportunity to frame the chat around the best assets to target.

The crew look through Seb’s options and provide the latest statistics from the FFScout Members area on each of the key teams involved.

Manchester City, Everton and Leeds players look vital to their planning, whether wildcarding or not. These players are certainly central to Joe and Karam’s thoughts on using their Bench Boost chip.

Tottenham’s extra games plus the importance of Harry Kane (£11.0m) to Jose Mourinho’s troops are also considered. Just how bad are Spurs without their talisman?

There’s Gameweek 23 to review, featuring some huge Rough with the Smooth bench scores. In addition, fixtures are frisked and Joe takes his turn to pick a differential, amid shock that his selection is not in more teams.

While Seb’s Wildcard understandably grabs the headlines, Joe and Karam take time at the end to reveal their transfer and captaincy plans.

Dias/Stones to Cancelo or hold the FT?

I have been considering Stones to Cancelo because I think Laporte and Dias will eventually be the starting CBs, but with the DGWs coming I think you'd be wiser to hold the FT to plan for them as best as possible. Have you already got triple City and a couple of players from Everton/Burnley/Fulham?

After the DGW mayhem is over, who would you prefer long term?

    A) DCL & Son
    Or
    B) Vardy & Grealish

Will have Kane either way. Thanks in advance.

Vardy & Grealish I reckon although I've not really looked at the fixtures to compare. Grealish has two games in hand that need to be added at some stage also.

Getting ahead of myself, but which of the following is going to be the best option to ship for Kane ahead of GW26?

    a) Bamford (form and fixtures)
    b) DCL (form, reasonable fixtures)
    c) Antonio (weak fixtures but plays in GW29)

Feel like Antonio may be the way to go. Or do I keep the three and hope Son is sufficient Spurs coverage? Argh!

Antonio easily. But the only problem is, there are loads of good mids as well.

Hard to omit any of Salah, Fernandes, Son, Gundo, Grealish if they all double as well.

Also hard to have them all.

I tend towards KDB when fit (another factor) and pivot on Kane to Salah etc at that price point. Albeit it's a double switch up.

Luckily loads of value in midfield below the premium price points to blend it in and the forwards are scoring again.

Guess the template will be broken up again soon with all the variables back in play on fixtures and budget and dgw coming in to play.

If anyone has a minute to review my plan for the next few weeks, I’d really appreciate it.

Current: 2FT, 3.6ITB. BB, FH, TC available.

    Martinez
    Stones Cancelo Coufal
    Raph Gundo(C) Salah Bruno
    Antonio DCL Bamford

    (Fabri, Son, Justin, Mitchell)

This week: Fabri > Pope and play Pope for DGW24

DGW25: Coufal > Dallas so have 3 Leeds for DGW25

DGW26*: Salah > Grealish — Antonio > Kane — Mitchell > Dinge/Keane — Dallas > Targett/Cash (the last 2 players depend on prices but I want Everton and Villa defenders)
    *-8 hit to facilitate

This leave me with x13 DGW26 and Raph and Bam so I’ll bench boost.

The only player I don’t really want directly after this would be Pope so I’m not left with a load of dead wood.

    FH BGW29.

Not sure I want him. Depending on form, I might look to get KDB and drop to 1 city defender.
