Scoutcast Episode 366 – How to prepare for flurry of FPL Double Gameweeks

Joe and Seb are joined by Karam to look at the key issues facing Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Double Gameweek 24.

With Manchester City, Everton, Burnley and Fulham playing twice in the next set of fixtures, there is plenty for our Scoutcast trio to consider as the gear up for the weekend’s deadline.

That’s just the start of their Double Gameweek planning. Leeds and Southampton have extra matches in Gameweek 25 and there’s a raft of further games to squeeze into the following set of fixtures.

It is a lot of information for FPL managers to take in, especially as this week’s FA Cup games will determine much of the upcoming schedule.

Luckily Seb has decided to Wildcard this week, which provides the Scoutcast with a perfect opportunity to frame the chat around the best assets to target.

The crew look through Seb’s options and provide the latest statistics from the FFScout Members area on each of the key teams involved.

Manchester City, Everton and Leeds players look vital to their planning, whether wildcarding or not. These players are certainly central to Joe and Karam’s thoughts on using their Bench Boost chip.

Tottenham’s extra games plus the importance of Harry Kane (£11.0m) to Jose Mourinho’s troops are also considered. Just how bad are Spurs without their talisman?

There’s Gameweek 23 to review, featuring some huge Rough with the Smooth bench scores. In addition, fixtures are frisked and Joe takes his turn to pick a differential, amid shock that his selection is not in more teams.

While Seb’s Wildcard understandably grabs the headlines, Joe and Karam take time at the end to reveal their transfer and captaincy plans.

What are folk with just WC and TC left doing? I think there will better DGWs, to use it on down the line, where other teams will be playing BB. So Im thinking to go Gundog (c) rather than pull the trigger on TC.

I'm in the exact situation, and I'm looking at saving the TC. Still hopeful for the (unlikely) Spurs TGW, or at least someone with great fixtures in a DGW.

If that doesn't happen, I guess I can always TC Andy Carroll or Shane Duffy. 🙂

It's amazing how many teams with a chance of competing for a trophy value 15th, 10th or 5th in the money league most.

If they keep up as a club we may. Point I'm trying to put is prem TV Money is bloody important for clubs. Hence we're not seeing any upsets in SF/Final since last few years. Teams just giving up on FA cup straight away

Im thinking about not using wc in 25. Why not build for the dgw and have a squad of players you want for the remainder of the season? You could all end up with a squad of players who aren’t that great and no way to sort it out. The fact that you all want to tc Gundogan is laughable. Poor fixtures and a deep lying midfielder.

Good plan? (Have 2FT and have no clue what to do with the FT):

        Cancelo/Dias/Digne/Mee
        Salah/Bruno/Son/Gundo
        DCL/Antonio

Son to Raphina and bench Raphina and play Soucek?
Gets you an extra Leeds DGW player and Soucek could easily outscore Son.

Can then bring in Kane for DCL or Antonio a couple of weeks later

Nice team, I can see why you are struggling. It's genuinely a possible burn transfer. Here are my suggestions:

Antonio to Watkins, risky as Antonio might bang, but might also be injured. Watkins has three doubles to come.

Soucek to Minamino as a punt for 25.

Salah, Sterling *, Grealish, Gundogan *
    Dcl*, Richarlison *, Reid*

Martinez, Minamino, Chillwell, Justin 1ft .2itb

Then gw25 Salah, Chillwell, Richarlison and Reid to Fernandes, Dallas, Ings and Bamford -8?

dont take a -8. Reid is a bit of a concern but if you're feeling it go for it.

Yeah Reid v Minamino is annoying me. Reid 2 games is swaying it for me currently

I don't think one extra game is worth a minus 8. If just save FT and bring in Bamford and Dallas next week.

Yeah I’d be saving this week and getting them the following week. Fernandes home to Newcastle and Ings, Dallas and Bamford all with 2 games surely recovers the -8 no?

Sideways. Gundo has pens and will still arrive late into the box even if he were playing deeper.

    McCarthy
    Stones Dias TAA
    Grealo Bruno Sterling Salah Soucek
    Antonio Bamford

    Forster Dallas Justin Brewster
    2FT 0.7itb

McCarthy & TAA > Pope & Digne solid moves?

    Anybody suggest anything else?
