Pick the best Gameweek 24 players for a free chance to win £10k with Fantasy5

Sponsored by Fantasy5

We’re back for another stab at Fantasy5 – the game that gives you the chance to win £10,000 for free.

All you have to do is pick one player from each of five nominated fixtures for the upcoming Gameweek. If all of your selections score more points than their respective Fantasy5 ‘points targets’, then you win.

Fantasy5 is easy to play as it follows the exact same scoring system as FPL, just without the bonus points.

It’s also the fastest media outlet for live Fantasy points, displaying all player points from the five games in question, as well as the live score and time.

For the more detailed lowdown, head here.

The competition is limited to one entry per person per round and selections must be submitted before kick-off of the first eligible match.

If two or more entrants correctly select five players who all score more than their points target, then the prize pot is split among all winners.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 24 FIXTURES

The five matches in this round of fixtures are:

  • Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur
  • Brighton and Hove Albion v Aston Villa
  • Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United
  • Arsenal v Leeds United

The deadline is at 17:30 GMT on Saturday 13 February.

SCOUT’S GAMEWEEK 24 PICKS

  • Ilkay Gundogan (8.5): The Premier League’s top goalscorer from Gameweek 13 onwards, Gundogan has found the back of the net on nine occasions since that point – that’s three more goals than any other top-flight player. Top among Manchester City assets for goal attempts, big chances and efforts on target over the last 11 Gameweeks, his Fantasy5 target of 8.5 is lower than six of his teammates.
  • Robert Sanchez (6.5): With four clean sheets in his last five and 15 saves racked up in the process, a points tally of seven or above shouldn’t be beyond Sanchez. Aston Villa are a potent attacking force but Albion have prevented Spurs, Liverpool and Leeds from scoring during their recent purple patch.
  • Ruben Neves (5.5): He offers little in the way of goal threat from open play but on penalties in Raul Jimenez’s absence, Neves is in the Jorginho bracket of Fantasy midfielder. The frequency of spot-kicks is impossible to second-guess but with Southampton in defensive disarray and insistent on playing out from the back, there is always the chance that a pacy Wolves attack are able to capitalise on a Saints side that are self-sabotaging mode.
  • Luke Shaw (8.5): Given that all of Manchester United’s backline require 6.5 points or above to beat their Fantasy5 totals this weekend, why not turn to the asset who has created more chances and big chances than any other defender over the last six Gameweeks?
  • Jack Harrison (6.5): There has been a lot of focus on Stuart Dallas, Raphinha and Patrick Bamford in the Fantasy world in recent times but quietly going about his business is Jack Harrison, who has scored five goals in the last 11 Gameweeks – a total that only three FPL midfielders can better in that time.

AZ’S GAMEWEEK 24 PICKS

  • Hugo Lloris (4.5):  Fantasy5 gets the brain cells engaged and I enjoy having to think “outside of the box”. In all honesty, I don’t fancy Spurs to get anything out of the City game. But of course, the Manchester City players’ points targets are high enough to put me off selecting them. Instead, I’m going to take a punt on Lloris, who should be called into action quite regularly and will automatically hit his target if Spurs somehow keep City out.
  • Lewis Dunk (6.5): Not too many players catch my eye in the Brighton v Leicester game as I expect it to be quite a low-scoring affair. Dunk is a huge threat from set-pieces, however, and if he can follow up on his goal versus Burnley with another effort, then he’ll meet his target even if Brighton concede.
  • Ruben Neves (5.5): This is a tough game to call, with both Wolves and Southampton struggling for confidence and form. I like to back penalty takers with a low points target, as you never know when one of these might come in – and with Adama Traore in the side, a foul in the box is always a possibility.
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka (6.5): Brave Fantasy5 players may back West Brom to record an upset here, but in reality, I can’t see anything other than a United win. Wan-Bissaka has chipped in with a goal and two assists over the last two weeks – so if he can bank a clean sheet and another attacking return, this one will come in.
  • Stuart Dallas (6.5): I finally brought Dallas into my own FPL team this week and was rewarded with 12 points. Arsenal are likely to pose more of a challenge for Leeds but Dallas playing out of position means that he is having a decent number of efforts on goal and his assist against Palace shows that someone playing further up the pitch only needs to make one good pass to get points. Add into that the prospect of a clean sheet and you have a strong option in this game.

    [repost from last thread]

Nobody looking at Siggurdsson as a differential for the DGW? He's showing signs of the player he was when he first joined Everton. And he's on pens. Risk reward?

Assuming we all have 3 City + maybe DCL and Antonio doubts... who we turning to to fill potential attacking spot? Gudmundsson? Lookman? Hmmmn...

James/Gomes/Allan all looking like doubts for at least one game so he should be started in more advanced role again if that's the case with one of Holgate/Coleman/Godfrey/Digne could move into MF alongside Davies/Doucoure (who can give him supply/space - and brilliantly against spurs).

My guess he'll be in behind King/Richy (or DCL if fit) in 4312. Granted there's a definite risk of rotation but I believe Carlo has him ramped up - and really playing for his spot. His to lose.

I like it as a punt.

      Predicted Everton team against Fulham:

      Olsen
      Godfrey / Mina / Keane / Digne
      Coleman / Davies / Doucoure
      Sigurdsson
      King (DCL) / Richarlison

He's been excellent all month (When played). Was instrumental in the Leeds game. I think the squad/MF/DCL injuries see him start both.

If it's for 24 only then he could be a decent punt. Not sure whether he would start both games though. Who was playing in DCL's position when he was out? Worried about Hames eating his minutes. If Hames out then it's fine to get him.

It's a combo of fitness to Hamez/Gomesh/Allan/DCL and his form. I think he starts both as he's in form and hasn't been playing as many back to back games.

He's on set pieces and pens so definitely tempting. Only concerns are one of the games against city and no DCL to finish off his chances created.

I would say yes, because they are all starters.

Fixtures aren't ideal but don't let that put you off,

No one would have thought bench boost last week with DCL away at Man Utd was a great idea, but he scored 12pts.

Everyone is looking at Liverpool away to Leicester as a benchable fixture, but TAA scored 21pts in the same fixture last season!

Which option is best with the following squad?

    A) WC 25 and BB 26
    B) save BB, use FTs to get players for 29, WC 30
    C) use FTs to get as good bench as possible and BB, then use FTs to get some player for 29, WC 30

Squad (* = possible problem areas):

    McCarthy - Forster*
    Stones - Dallas - Coufal - Robertson* - Johnson*
    Fernandes - Salah - Gundogan - Foden - Soucek
    Watkins - Bamford - DCL*
