Captain Sensible

Who is the best FPL captain for Double Gameweek 26?

Considering the large number of fixtures in Double Gameweek 26, Fantasy Premier League managers have a wealth of choice for their latest captaincy decision.

But with so many players offering decent potential across their two matches, finding the right recipient for the armband could prove a challenge.

That’s where the Captain Sensible article comes in, using the statistical form of  the key candidates against the most recent defensive showings of their upcoming opponents.

As this uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

CAPTAIN POLL

Harry Kane (£11.1m) leads the Double Gameweek 26 Captain Poll with over 30.0% votes from our users. The Tottenham Hotspur striker faces two bottom-six sides in Burnley and Fulham but he has only scored once in his previous four Premier League appearances.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m) comes second this week, with 15.5% of total votes, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are set to play Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

İlkay Gündoğan (£6.1m) occupies the third place in the poll. However, it will be interesting to see how the results change by Friday evening, as the German international played 90 minutes in Manchester City’s Champions League match midweek.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin
(£7.7m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) sit in fourth and fifth, respectively, while Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) just misses out on this week’s top five.

What’s my best option so that I can field 10 dgw’s without using my wildcard:

    Martinez
    Stones / Maguire / Cancelo
    Salah (c) / Son / Bruno / Raphina
    Ings / Bamford / Richarlson

Forster, Gundo, Coufal / Bissouma, Douglas

    1.1 itb and 1 FT

    A. Ings + Raphina —> Vardy + 4.8 mid (and play Bamford)
    B. Bamford —> Watkins
    C. Any other suggestions?

Ings to Watkins maybe and would start Gundo over one of the Leeds players.

-4 for Forster to Edinson and then BB?

    1. Catastrophe
      • 13 Years

In isolation yes, and you need 3 City. Who else is on your bench?

      1. The Big Fella
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 1 month ago

DCL, Mitchell and Dias currently. I will be BB anyway as only 3 Leeds boys not DGW players but it is whether I do take the hit and then BB. I could even do Raphina to Barnes for a further 4 point hit. I'd prefer Vardy but I can't quite afford him.

        1. Catastrophe
          • 13 Years
          3 years, 1 month ago

I'm on BB with 3 Leeds, getting it out the way. Barnes in for Raphinha is worth the hit IMO assuming you've already got 6 or 7 for BGW29 (and nl FH)

          1. The Big Fella
            • 7 Years
            3 years, 1 month ago

I have FH which I will be using for 29 and no value on Raphinha either. So, Edinson and Barnes for -8 or just Barnes for -4?

Barnes, Pereira and Castagne only played the last 30 minutes, in which Pereira's goal was ruled out for a Vardy handball in the buildup

    On Twitter. Analytic FPL Simon.

look at if you have a main cast who will play 80+% of Man City games:

Ederson, Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Rodri, Gundo, KdB, Bernardo, Sterling.

    And then the supporting crew:

Laporte, Zinchenko, Mendy, Ake, Jesus, Foden, Mahrez, Torres.

3 from the first lot and you'll be mostly OK most of the time!

I transferred Rashford out last week and kept Son, but regret it now.

Rashford, far more differential, and I think could still do okay in the tough fixtures due to Man Us strong counter attacks and high goal output.

Son, playing for boring mourinho and in a team struggling for form.

Probably wouldn’t take Rash out for -4.
