Captain Sensible

Who is the best FPL captain for Double Gameweek 26?

Considering the large number of fixtures in Double Gameweek 26, Fantasy Premier League managers have a wealth of choice for their latest captaincy decision.

But with so many players offering decent potential across their two matches, finding the right recipient for the armband could prove a challenge.

That’s where the Captain Sensible article comes in, using the statistical form of  the key candidates against the most recent defensive showings of their upcoming opponents.

As this uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

CAPTAIN POLL

Harry Kane (£11.1m) leads the Double Gameweek 26 Captain Poll with over 30.0% votes from our users. The Tottenham Hotspur striker faces two bottom-six sides in Burnley and Fulham but he has only scored once in his previous four Premier League appearances.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m) comes second this week, with 15.5% of total votes, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are set to play Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

İlkay Gündoğan (£6.1m) occupies the third place in the poll. However, it will be interesting to see how the results change by Friday evening, as the German international played 90 minutes in Manchester City’s Champions League match midweek.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin
(£7.7m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) sit in fourth and fifth, respectively, while Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) just misses out on this week’s top five.

This is my BB currently - areola Dallas raphinha bamford. Was set to
lose 1 or 2 of them but unsure now after tuesdays game and villa looking shaky. Would you do any of these:

    A bamford to Watkins
    B raphinha to lookman
    C Dallas to regulion
    D 2 for a hit

Villa are looking poor defensively - shaky at the back. Don’t worry there’s no danger of it being called off!!

Leeds are 6/4 to beat Villa (same odds as Chelsea are to beat Man U) - those BBing with a bench full of Leeds are taking a big chance this week.

Not sure you can read too much into odds to win the game but agree that does seem to be either feast or famine with Leeds. Don’t really care if they lose the game but if they score 2 or 3 goals then you’d expect raphinha and bamford to be involved

This is exactly the same what people were saying who were BBing them in GW19, or who were loading up with them against Arsenal a couple of weeks ago. I'm not saying they definitely won't do well this week , but just the obvious risks are there boosting SGW players in a marginal fixture.

            • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Was that GW19 just really unlucky though. Sure they could both blank but since GW19 Raphinha has average 7pts and Bamford 5pts a game (I've split the double into 2 games to get a fair average per game). I would be more than happy with 12-13pts from the 2 of them on BB. Removing either for a hit could easily backfire

    5. rogersterling
      • 5 Years

I'm going BB with the 3 Leeds on the bench.

Villa are susceptible to how Leeds play, won't have Grealish and are conceding chances with more frequency than earlier in the season.

    A) Dallas starts gw26 (AVL), Cresswell starts gw28 (mun)
    B) Dallas to Konsa and starts both gw26 and 28 (lee, shu, new, possibly eve) (-4), Cancelo to Dallas on 29

    Who wins?

    Already done Bamford/Grealish to Kane/Barnes for a -4 hit.

    1.6m ITB
    Worth a -8 hit for:
    A) Coufal to Dias
    B) Coufal to Digne
    C) Kilman to Stones
    D) Start Dallas

    Leaning towards A for the 2x DGW’s

What do you think about taking a few hits and get this BB team instead of using my WC? DGW for all Player's except 3x Leeds.

    Martinez Johnstone
    Cancelo Lowton Taylor Dallas Aina
    Salah Sterling Fernandes Gündogan Raphina
    Kane Watkins Bamford

I really like the Aina pick to be honest.

    Morning all! Would you do
    Bamford -> Dcl (-4)

    BBing with currently
    Pope Martinez
    Shaw cancelo Digne Lowton Dallas
    Gundog Sterling Barnes Bruno Raphinha
    Watkins (K)ane Bamford

      I would personally

remember Bam plays Villa could easily get a return meaning DCL would have to score twcie to pay you back.

Bam plays WH in 27 and DCL plays a very strong Chelsea DEF.

Plus has a game in 29 also.

I think DCL outscores him this week but between now and 29 I think Bamford outscores him

Traore seems an overlooked option to me at 5.9.

Yep been on all week and raring to go. A bit of form, fixtures far far better than Kanes, and Digne, Jamez, back with Rich in form. What could go wrong?

I'm the same...been on it since last weekend. Could be a crucial week with captaincy split

I bet after all this pondering the captains score similarly anyways...it's why we love the game tho 😉

fixtures far far better? is this a bit of an exaggeration?

        kane vs. BUR & ful

        DCL vs. SOU & wba

If you just look at the table maybe...but Burnley and Fulham aren't that bad defensively, they just can't score. Sot and wba on the other hand are terrible defensively. Hence far better fixtures

This is exactly what drew me to dcl. Fulham and Burnley are defensively better and posting better numbers than Southampton and West brom.

Yes sure kane does well vs lower teams and could do well. But the Everton fixtures are too appealing and they also have their big hitters back

Imm on it too, looks like a great opportunity, being massively overlooked for the usual suspects on here, some of which might not even play the full 180!

Maddison to Barnes for a hit? Will be playing Dallas or Ings otherwise. Think Barnes can offset the hit personally, and can't see Madds back for a while

TBF you're right...sure he will offset the hit, I just may have to cope with more points on the bench than I'd like...but tis the season of benched points anyways
