FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

Round four of our FFS Open Cup and round three of our FFS Members Cup will take place in Blank Gameweek 29.

The previous rounds in each competition played out last weekend and we’ll delve into the results and fixtures in our regular round-up below.

For future reference, a shortcut to our FFS Cups page can now be found in the site’s top menu bar under ‘Community’.

Lokomotiv – who beat Sessegnon blanc 42-36 last weekend – is our only former winner left in this competition, following Leon Harris’ 47-65 defeat to Smelbow.

Lokomotiv will now take on Van der Faart in the round-of-128.

Sonova‘s score of 74 was not only enough to comfortably see off Hana, it was also the highest score posted by any manager in round three.

Barry Woj can count themselves unfortunate: despite posting an above-average score of 56 and rising to 2,131st in the world after a sixth straight green arrow, he was despatched by Jambot by a margin of just three points.

To put that in context, Fat Francs salad bar and Sriram progressed after registering just 37 points. The victory for the former was a notable one, as their opponent, Sofasogood, ended up on -7. The defeated manager appeared to not only confuse Gameweek 28 with Blank Gameweek 29, but they also (presumably) failed to activate their Free Hit chip and took a 48-point hit.

The Fighting Cock is our best-performing remaining entrant, sitting at 254th in the world.

Our only other round three participant who has a top 1k overall rank is ZeleniMD, who sneaked into 975th position and saw off im1974 by 55 points to 50.

EJAAZ11, now 800th, was eliminated by FPL Sweat.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

Our only remaining previous champion who entered this year’s tournament lives to fight another day.

Pep Pig saw off Fitzy. by a 54-50 margin and will now face DYNAMO MIMOMI in round three.

Gargamel‘s score of 75 was the highest posted in the second round of our FFS Members Cup and was more than enough to defeat sledger.

We had a five-way share of the ‘unluckiest’ manager of the round, with eggshapedfred (who was eliminated on a tie break), TICKING TOON BOMB, geordienufc1, Bragazeti and the aforementioned ZeleniMD all bowing out despite posting very decent Gameweek 28 scores of 55.

A.J., who sits at 263rd in the world, is our highest-ranked manager left in the competition and will next face KevIRL.

HOW DO THE CUP COMPETITIONS WORK?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round were randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a draw, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

I appear to have been kicked out of the open cup and am unsure as to why - My team (bliblablu) beat Mince n Tatties in round 2. I was given a round 3 fixture when I checked the original draw and yet Mince n Tatties now seems to have replaced my team in the draw and has progressed in my place. Seems a glitch to me.

My bad - the R2 results page is wrongly showing me as a winner over Mince n Tatties, I was knocked out fair and square
