Kane and Son start first DGW32 match as Mourinho benches Moura

Harry Kane (£11.7m) comes into Double Gameweek 32 with an exceptionally significant level of backing.

A whopping 95.5% of the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have captained him for their two matches against Everton and Southampton.

Off the back of five goals and two assists since Gameweek 27, the Spurs forward starts at Goodison Park tonight, joined by Son Heung-min (£9.5m) in the starting line-up.

However, those who took a punt on Lucas Moura (£6.6m) have been left frustrated at the first hurdle, the Brazilian left on the bench for what looks like a rather defensive Spurs line-up.

José Mourinho has gone with a three-man defence of Toby Alderweireld (£5.4m), Joe Rodon (£5.0m) and Eric Dier (£4.6m).

Sergio Reguilón (£5.5m) and Serge Aurier (£5.2m) are afforded wing-back roles but Mourinho has gone for three central midfielders between them, namely Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (£4.9m), Moussa Sissoko (£4.7m) and Tanguy Ndombele (£5.9m).

Meanwhile, Everton remain without the injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.5m), Richarlison (£7.9m) ploughing a lone furrow for the hosts tonight.

Alex Iwobi (£5.9m), Gylfi Sigurdsson (£6.8m) and James Rodríguez (£7.7m) support him from attacking midfield.

Double Gameweek 32 Line-ups

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Digne, Keane, Godfrey, Holgate; Allan, T Davies; Iwobi, Sigurdsson, Rodríguez; Richarlison.

Tottenham Hotspur XI (3-5-2): Lloris; Alderweireld, Rodon, Dier; Reguilón, Højbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele, Aurier; Son, Kane.

You don't have to find a differential if having Kane playing this DGW.

Absolutely everyone is getting his points doubled, some tripled.

      It’s a 9/10 player GW.

Kane TCers only gaining 13 points points on others (so far). Very good

But Mega TC success will be TCing a differential that explodes

The best TC is of course the captain who scores best. Makes absolutely no difference which week it falls in

Agree. What's the difference if you get these 12 pts in GW1, now or whatever...

        Not really.

If kane scores 18 this week thats 18 point gain on the most common choice (kane normal cap)

If u tc a player thats scores 12 points in a week where the most common choice scores 5 points...thats a 21 point gain on those

So you'd rather captain a differential for 30 points and not someone else for 45 points? Personally I'd prefer the extra 15 points at the end of the season.

You're welcome to the 15 point loss 😉

Id need ur cap that week to fail tho. If he does...ill have far more overall points than u when u combine the scores of 2 weeks

The upvotes suggest ppl fail to understand simple maths

And if I also captain your differential that week I'm still up on you because I got more TC points.

All you're saying is that you make a gain from captaining a successful differential over a failed template option. That has nothing to do with the best TC option.

              Think it over

The whole argument is based on pickingpicking a tc u wont.

Yeah, I'm not (as yet) regretting my GW26 KDB TC, because those 30 points were way more differential than these Kane 39.

      Literally not how it works.

TC success is simply achieving the most points possible, it is irrelevant whether they're a differential or not. In an extreme example if Kane scores 40 points this week, it wouldn't not be a 'mega TC success' because everyone else captained him. It's 40 additional points regardless.

But those points would be worth more to you in rank if EVERYONE hadn't captained Kane. Hence they're more valuable. Hence a successful differential TC is a more successful deployment of the chip.

        1. Guba
          • 8 Years
          3 years, 18 hours ago

It doesn't matter. You're playing for the highest point total across the entire season. 40 points is higher than 20 points even if it isn't on a differential. You're talking about the difference in rank in a single game week.

This isn’t a game about just scoring points. It’s a game about scoring MORE points than other people. Given the EO herding that now happens, it’s a game about maximizing differential gains while minimizing differential losses. TC on a differential in a week where popular captain choices blank will matter more at the end of the season than TC on a player everyone else has. I would rather score 70 points in a week where the top 10k average was 30 than 120 in a week where it was 100.

The flawed argument is that relative points are worth more than absolute points - unfortunately that's not how the rankings work.

The comparison is TC across weeks not TC vs C within the week, sure there’s a focus on a single gameweek via recency bias because we’re human but we get one TC a season so that’s what you should consider it over, differential or not it’s how many extra points you get when playing the chip
