Wolves revert to three-man defence with wing-backs against Sheff Utd

A three-man defence make a much-needed return for Wolves as they host Sheffield United in Double Gameweek 32.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have experimented with a back-four in order to unlock greater attacking potential this season, largely to the detriment of their defence.

However, as was hinted in the 1-0 win at Fulham following Pedro Neto‘s (£5.6m) injury, it’s a return to a back-three and wing-backs this evening.

Romain Saïss (£4.9m) and Conor Coady (£4.9m) welcome back Willy Boly (£5.4m) back to the side, who missed Gameweek 31 thanks to a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test.

Rayan Aït-Nouri (£5.0m) and Nélson Semedo (£5.3m) are the wing-backs either side of João Moutinho (£5.1m) and Leander Dendoncker (£4.6m).

Daniel Podence (£5.3m) is trusted with the left-wing role vacated by the injured Neto, joined in the front-three by centre-forward Willian José (£6.8m) and Adama Traoré (£6.0m).

It will be worth keeping an eye on how the Wolves front-three line-up at various stages of tonight’s encounter.

Against Fulham, Podence occupied a number 10 role for large spells while Traoré was deployed in a front-two for the closing stages.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United stay in their usual 3-5-2 formation with Rhian Brewster (£4.3m) and David McGoldrick (£5.2m) leading the line.

Kean Bryan (£3.9m), John Egan (£4.7m) and Ethan Ampadu (£4.3m) comprise the make-shift back-three.

Double Gameweek 32 Line-ups

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI (3-4-3): Patrício; Saïss, Coady, Boly; Aït-Nouri, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Semedo; Podence, Willian J, A Traoré.

Sheffield United XI (3-5-2): Ramsdale; K Bryan, Egan, Ampadu; Stevens, Fleck, Norwood, Osborn, Baldock; Brewster, McGoldrick.

ie. Sheffield to score and win .

Thanks for raising this - genuinely not sure why this happened today, it was reported earlier and I thought we had addressed it earlier this afternoon, so sorry to hear you are still experiencing this.

We did change ad partner recently, but this wasn't in order to bring more ads. All that happened technically was that we replaced one set of ad-tags with another in existing slots, so nothing was supposed to change in terms of user experience.

Clearly that wasn't the case and there have been a number of glitches and odd side effects like this, but we are trying to work through them and fix as they arise.
One slight challenge at the moment is people on identical setups aren't having the same issues, so when we think something is fixed it may not be for everyone - we are working on it though.

I've installed an Ad Blocker for Firefox and it's wiped them all out so thankfully I'm not getting these ads. Not sure if you would recommend anyone else experiencing these problems to do the same but it has resolved the issue for me...

Appreciate the frustration and trust me we are taking it seriously, but we have to work though it methodically as otherwise we end up creating more issues. I know Scout may look a bit simple on the front end, but there's a lot of systems at play under the hood!

Obviously sorry to hear that Captain, but just want to be clear there aren't any extra ads showing on the site as it stands.

We did try to replace the basement ad with a 'floating' version but that annoyed people so it was removed last week. The remaining ad slots are exactly the same as they were previously.

The problem now seems to be with something intermittently interfering with the side bar on mobile on certain setups. We are working on that now step-by-step, so hopefully that will also be resolved very shortly.

Salah on 35% so not imminent to change price at all. KDB on -75%, if you're going to lose money if he drops then probably go for it. If not wait at least until after Monday to be sure Salah isn't injured

I noticed that Caballero (not Mendy) was on the bench, but I thought that was just so they could sub Caballero on in the 119th minute before pens if it went to pens. Like Sarri tried to do that time when Kepa refused to be substituted.

I've only just seen that Ritchie got an assist for that 2nd NEW goal where flappy dropped the cross and joelinton put in

    How does that work?
"If an opposing player touches the ball after the final pass before a goal is scored, significantly altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is awarded"

It literally went 180degress back the way it came from.

It opens up the argument of fouls for set pieces goals too, which are officially not given as assists since it isn’t within open play...

I guess that’s where it should be the only exception to what is awarded as a fantasy assist vs real assist.

The Coufal one earlier would never be regarded as an assist anywhere else lol

In my opinion they need to start going by ‘real’ assists and award only for those.
So a pass or attempted shot with no touch from the opposition should count as an assist.
Means less points but at least then it’s clear cut, and also would tally with official premier league stats

Biased example coming up - The Kane and Son show earlier in the season was especially satisfying since all 4 goals were genuine real assists

      • 5 Years

This will be an unpopular opinion, but assume the assist and own goal rules remains as it does, the same should go for deflections off your OWN player. I.e. your player strikes the ball from the edge of the box, it brushes the toe of your team mate, and the team mate is credited with a goal. If it was an opposition player it wouldn't be an own goal, so why one rule for one but not the other?

Do you have a back up keeper? If so just play them next week then spurs have Sheffield United. As for vydra to Watkins I’m guessing vydra is 2/3 bench player most weeks? He’s also doing ok. I’d hold for now and see what other fires you might need to fight as the injuries pile up this week.

Ok cheers I have mendy and 1 FT to burn as carried 1 over. Other option is to upgrade holding.

I envy you with 2 transfers and no massive fires to fight. Can you field 11 next week? I’ve lost Dawson and potentially lingard and Kane with 1 FT so will be waiting till last minute. I’m thinking an Everton mid and robbo but will wait till all games are played. Good luck!

Random question but the hall of fame, to show up on that do you need to be entered in any specific league or is it just worked out from the open OR history?

What is the Hall of Fame?

In simple terms, this is as ranking system which can be applied to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League mini-leagues & both the free and the members league. The Hall of Fame tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a ranking according to the performances. We have a "Career" table that updates every season and a "Live" table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every few Gameweeks.

            How is my rating calculated?

The "HoF Rating" is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2017/18 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The "HoF Ranking" even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame

Simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League, or if you're a member, the Members Classic League the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?

The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don't want to be listed?

Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you'll be removed on the next update.
When does the Hall of Fame get updated?

The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings.

            Hope that helps...

The only party to benefit there is Liverpool. Brewster at Swansea would have seen us promoted behind Norwich, Brewster is not right for Sheffield United, wilder lost his job due to it and now there is a big debt for them to pay.
