Grealish returns from injury on the bench as Villa host Everton

Jack Grealish (£7.5m) has finally return from injury, making his first appearance in an Aston Villa matchday squad since Gameweek 24.

After missing several months with another shin injury, match fitness was the only thing stopping the midfielder from a Premier League comeback, until tonight.

Dean Smith is easing his playmaker back into the groove though, naming him among the substitutes for Aston Villa’s Triple Gameweek 35 meeting with Everton.

Ross Barkley (£5.8m) makes his fourth successive league start in Grealish’s place, flanked by Anwar El Ghazi (£5.2m) and Bertrand Traoré (£5.8m) in attacking midfield.

Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins‘ (£6.5m) one-match suspension allows Keinan Davis (£4.2m) a first Premier League start of the campaign.

John McGinn (£5.5m) partners with Douglas Luiz (£4.8m) in central midfield while Smith names his first-choice unchanged back-four for the third match in a row since Matty Cash‘s (£5.0m) comeback.

Carlo Ancelotti makes two changes to the Everton side that beat West Ham on Sunday, including a first start for Abdoulaye Doucouré (£5.1m) since Double Gameweek 26.

He features in central midfield of a 3-4-1-2 formation, joined there by Allan (£5.2m) and flanked by wing-backs Lucas Digne (£6.2m) and Seamus Coleman (£4.9m).

In James Rodríguez‘s (£7.7m) continued absence, Gylfi Sigurdsson (£6.9m) looks to be Everton’s number 10 for the evening, supporting a two-man strike force of Richarlison (£7.8m) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m). The latter ranks joint-top among all players for big chances in the last six matches.

Ben Godfrey (£5.0m) and Mason Holgate (£4.8m) are in the back-three either side of Michael Keane (£5.0m) and in front of Jordan Pickford (£4.8m), who has seemingly fought off the competition to start the last five Premier League matches in a row.

Triple Gameweek 35 Line-ups

Everton XI: Pickford; Godfrey, Keane, Holgate; Digne, Allan, Doucouré, Coleman; Sigurdsson; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Aston Villa XI: Martínez; Targett, Konsa, Mings, Cash; McGinn, D Luiz; El Ghazi, Barkley, B Traoré; Davis.

Triple Gameweek 35 so far…

FPL changes I would like for next season:
    1. Allow a player to save up transfers. Why stop a manager from having 3 or 4 FTs if that is part of their game plan?
    2. Player who wins a penalty gets 2 points, regardless of whether the pen is converted or not.
    3. Remove BB chip. Have a highest scorer auto-captain chip.
    4. Remove bonus points
    5. Zaha should not be allowed to be added to FPL teams. He trolls too much. 🙂

Pen scorer should not get the same number of points as a goal scorer from open play. Not fair and makes zero sense.

      1. Categories players into just goalkeepers, defenders and forwards.
Seems strange to have Rashford and Greenwood as mids along with Kante and the like.

      2. Points for scoring a penalty the same regardless of position. i.e. 4 points for a pen scored whether you are Lucas Digne or Harry Kane.

2 is like awarding an assist to a player when a goal isn't scored.

Rather than BB I'd like a Benchless chip that allows all your MITB to be spent on the starting 11.

Benchless chip would double as another FH with more cash. DGW madness.

The only one I like is 3. BB is an abomination and needs to be ditched. Auto cap chip is a cool idea, one I've thought there should have been years ago.

      1. Makes things too easy and caters to casuals too much. The point is it's difficult, you need to prepare your team weeks in advance and take risks with hits. The sky game uses 40 total transfers for the year but you might think that's easier but I'll tell you its not, much more difficult. The way the transfers work is great in my opinion, the right balance.

Agreed nobody should have Zaha haha

Tbh, I don't like any of the changes except possibly removing BB. Highest scorer auto-captain isn't a bad idea.

I think for 1). the reason for limiting to 2 is to promote being active (rather than just coming back to the game and having a ridiculous amount of transfers) and it keeps the game busy with price changes etc. Being able to stock up on transfers approaching blanks etc is too easy.

An all out attack which is actually an all out attack, not the ooooh how attacking 2-5-3 of yesteryear.

Effectively a FH chip where you can choose as many mids and forwards as you want. Hell, 0-0-7-4 could work.

I agree that big changes are needed. Everyone hoarding chips untill atleast GW26 year in year out is tedious, the strategies are the same every year, FPL need to mix things up

      1. Botman and Robben
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 11 months ago

FH can't really be used early as blanks come later.
BB is used late as it takes time to build team value to have an able bench
TC used in DGWs which appear after GW26.

The chips are pretty much designed to be used late. What mix up would you like?

Dont like any of the points except point 2.
The change i would like is
      1. Penalty scorer gets only 3 points irrespective the position they play
      2. Defensive mids like rodri, mctominay, jorginho, etc. Get 2 points for cs.
      3. Players like salah, Greenwood, aubemyang, rashford etc to be reclassified as forwards.

Have Shaw, Trent, Dallas, Rudiger and Castagne.

Would you rather do; Castangne to:
    1. Coleman to basically use him for GW 36 alone
    2. Coufal for GW 36 and possibly GW 38 because Shaw might not play with Europa League Final so close and Rudiger playing a tricky Leicester

    Thinking
    Bruno + J-Rodriguez > Son + Mahrez (-4)
    Mendy > Ederson (-4)

    Gives me 10 with a -8.
Pretty awesome attacking 7 - and I'm not convinced of defender moves this week...

    Ederson (Forster)
    TAA, Coufal (Rudiger, Fofana, Holding)
    Son, Salah, Jota, Lingard, Mahrez
    Kane, DCL (Nacho)

It's a little deeper than that. The protests are rational and based on their running of Utd the last 16 years, and brought to a head with the ESL notice. The underlying principle is the fans should be valued and this is to prove a point on the influence and power per se the fans have. Not condoning the wombles who participated in illegal or violent activity of course.

              oh wow 🙂

They have plunged their debt into United and cost the club somewhere between £1B and £2B in interest alone, let alone the money they have taken out of the club. All Owners need a 'business hat' but they have had zero interest in the well-being of the club and have literally used it solely for financial purposes. Utd fans have been protesting against the Glazers since they took over.

They should have had a discreet coach and a decoy! 😉

So if the United game gets postponed again will they have a quadruple GW36?

The game should be called off and Liverpool got 3 points, with ManU got heavy penalty later.

With Digne and Targett, I'm hoping for a 0-0, but somehow don't think that'll be happening...

Richarlison may not score often but he sure does a lot of work. Always running up and down

I thought he was incredibly selfish vs west ham - rarely looked for DCL even though runs had been made

Also spend way to much time on the ground

He is indeed selfish. And you are right, there is something wrong with his relationship with DCL. They never pass to each other

One of the few things I agree with Carragher on is your last point. Never really noticed it until I saw him say it during a game a few weeks back but my goodness he does spend an age on the floor and goes down pathetically easily especially for such a big guy

Fpl rules state that Mo Salah will be awarded all 3 goals and max bonus

That would be glorious! 1-0 Villa (Martinez) would be perfect.

Original plan was to use my 2 transfers to replace Mendy & Iheanacho in order to get 11 players this week. But the lack of promising defenders, alongside the DCL appeal has me thinking:

    (a) Mendy & Nacho -> Pickford & Bamford/Antonio (11 men)
    (b) Maguire & Nacho -> 4m def & Calvert-Lewin (no playing GK)

Bring in Godfrey, even for a hit if you don't have 11 players. Most likely you will have a CS. Max you lose will be 2 pts. (You get 0 for a player you are missing in team).
SHU unlikely to put much past EVE
