Key Man United assets return but Greenwood and Mané benched at Old Trafford

Manchester United name a strong team to face Liverpool in their final match of Triple Gameweek 35.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m), Marcus Rashford (£9.6m) and Edinson Cavani (£8.0m) all return to the attack although Mason Greenwood (£7.2m) misses out on a third start in as many matches, named on the bench.

Paul Pogba (£7.6m) also comes back into the side and looks side to feature on the left-hand side of attacking midfield, which would see Rashford take up the right-hand position again.

Manchester United’s defence is also back to relative full-strength with Luke Shaw (£5.5m) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.7m) in the full-back roles either side of Victor Lindelof (£4.8m) and Eric Bailly (£4.8m), the latter standing in for an injured Harry Maguire (£5.6m).

Meanwhile, despite scoring against Southampton on Saturday, Sadio Mané (£11.7m) drops to the Liverpool bench to make way for Roberto Firmino (£9.0m).

That means a fifth-successive Premier League start for the versatile Diogo Jota (£7.0m) who, today, looks set to play in Mané’s left-wing role on the opposite flank to Mohamed Salah (£12.7m).

With Ozan Kabak (£5.0m) and Ben Davies (£4.7m) still on the sidelines alongside Virgil van Dijk (£6.2m), Joel Matip (£5.4m) and Joe Gomez (£5.2m), Nathaniel Phillips (£4.1m) and Rhys Williams (£4.0m) are Liverpool’s centre-back partnership for the second match in a row.

        Had Bruno and Shaw already, couldn't get Greenwood with Salah Jota Lingard Pereira in midfield and had Vardy DCL Nacho up top. Had Leno who had been dropped before the random Ryan injury so was worth a try, could have got lucky like Mendy or Leno but nope!

    Would be a massive result for Liverpool. If Klopp makes UCL with a central defensive partnership of Nat Phillips and Reece Williams he deserves a statue asap

            Net spend isn't always the best of metrics, selling one player for an obscene fee because of a barca or Madrid and then breaking the bank on 3 players to that value would be 0 net spend but it's not like you haven't spent big

              Coutinho was carrying Liverpool on his shoulders and was one of the most talented players in world football. He was developed by Klopp into that player too. Net spend is a better metric to use than just Spend

                  Not denigrating klopp, he improved players and the team even without spending, the the vast success still does come from world record van dijk and Allison in the end, though Salah mane fabinho robbo obviously excellent buys that weren't Uber expensive, if I take over Chelsea tomorrow and sell havertz pulisic and rudiger and buy with that money my net spend could even be minus, I'd have to use the money wisely of course but still

                  Watkins was the facilitator; he’s been killing me the last few weeks and I figured there wasn’t much between him and Donkey.

                  Puli and Rashford were changed on deadline day because of the rotation. I actually nailed the minutes, they just didn’t perform well.

                  I agree though, can’t ignore form table completely..

          It was difficult to judge because it had a curve on it when it impacted the defender. When in doubt, on 50/50 calls, give the goal to the attacker.

        Very happy as a Liverpool fan.

        Very pissed, as an FPL player, that my plan to bring in TAA and Benteke changed due to United’s triple. Going for Maguire and DCL instead has cost me 17 pts and a transfer. So typical of this season

          My moves are very similar Shaw Nacho > Dallas Antonio -4. May not do the Antonio but it gives me a bench player. I think your moves make sense. Just balance it with OR or ML position.
