Guardiola rotation hits new unpredictable levels as Carson replaces Ederson

Pep Guardiola has found new levels of unpredictable rotation in his Blank Gameweek 36 team sheet.

Even Ederson (£6.1m) has lost his place this week, with Scott Carson (£ rewarded for his off-the-field service with a first Premier League start in 10 years.

Ruben Dias (£6.0m), John Stones (£5.1m) and Aymeric Laporte (£6.0m) all miss out too with João Cancelo (£5.8m), Nathan Aké (£5.4m), Eric Garcia (£4.7m) and Kyle Walker (£6.1m) named in the back-four.

Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) and Sergio Aguero (£10.3m) are “not fully fit” for the game, according to a Manchester City press release so Ilkay Gündogan (£5.6m), Rodrigo (£5.3m) and Bernardo Silva (£7.4m) are the central midfield trio behind Raheem Sterling (£11.0m), Gabriel Jesus (£9.1m) and Ferran Torres (£6.9m).

Despite recent Premier League rests, Riyad Mahrez (£8.0m) and Phil Foden (£6.0m) still do not start, each of them named on the bench for the Friday-night trip to Newcastle.

The Magpies are in 5-3-2 shape this evening featuring Joelinton (£5.7m) up-front alongside Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.1m) while Callum Wilson (£6.5m) sits out the remaining matches of the season.

Blank Gameweek 36 Line-ups

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka; Ritchie, Dummett, Fernández, Krafth, Murphy; Almirón, Shelvey, Willock; Joelinton, Saint-Maximin.

Manchester City XI: Carson; Cancelo, Ake, Garcia, Walker; Gündogan, Rodrigo, B Silva; Sterling, Jesus, Torres.

Dismal week. Lost ML lead with 113. Rival scored 30ish points more. Now got these two differentials in. 😀

        Gotta love it.

On an FH its fair enough, but an -8 point hit on rotation risk is insane, especially as there future game time not guaranteed either.

    Bottomed last page 🙂

This Vice Captain chip is so toxic. It is a chip for babies who need a "safety blanket". People who are lazy, miss deadlines etc are always protected with the chip. Here is just one case in point (there are many). Someone in my cash mini-league, for whatever reason has not taken the Captain off Bruno (from the triple gw), but ofc how nice for him he has VC Salah! A joke since it was brought in.

I think you're being dramatic and trying to create some narrative here that doesn't exist. When did I say I have an issue with people having lives. I'm talking about an issue in a game. You need calm yourself and take a reality check pal. Ooops sorry is that too honest for you?

Hahahaha with the greatest of respect, are you an adult or a child please? I mean it in a nice way.

A chip is an inanimate non-living thing. A chip is something used in the game. I am saying the chip (the facilitator in the game is toxic).

Does this help you. In the game of Snakes & Ladders, if you roll a six you can role again. If i suggested that having another go after rolling a six was TOXIC, would I also be saying that I am upset with people having lives?

You might be calm, but you're embarrassing yourself (and amusing me at the same time though). Next?

I can respect anyone with an opinion. Ans please have opposite opinions to me, free speech and all that.

They did challenge the status quo. You said it yourself- they brought in VC when it wasnt there before.

Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but I just don't get it. Surely if you want excitement then having more competition generated by the VC is a good thing.

The VC was not challenging the status quo. The VC was brought in to appease those who were getting so frustrated with not having their Captian play and lose points thus lose interest in the game quickly. That's what I have been told anyway.

So the VC was brought in to keep the interest (certainly not to add to the excitement right, it;s a safety net, nothing exciting about knowing you get another lifeline, or maybe it floats your boat man, each to their own and if you find it exciting, then that's good for you.

VC has always been a part of the game since I started playing. Years ago, you had two choices:
                  a) pick as vice captain the player left in your starting 11 on the best "Form" (most points in the past 4 GW if I remember correctly)
                  b) pick as vice captain the most expensive player left in your starting 11.

which was even MORE of a safety blanket than the current system.

It's a perfectly reasonable system. Players pull out at the last minute through injury, Dean Smith and a few fellow managers lie through their teeth in press conferences.

Therefore can't you see how risk is rewarded then. Back in the old days of this game, you needed to pay more attention, certainly at this time of year with rotation as to who to Captain. The fun was immense, with rumours flying around and Captain changes.

I just feel it's a perfectly reasonable system (as you say) for those with weaker mindsets, those who don't like the turmoil. Sure, just relax and have another go each week with a VC.

In fpl Scotland only get captain points if plays. Does not transfer to vice. But your vice ( even if captain plays) gets double points for each goal or if defender double for any clean sheet- makes choice of captain and vice more interesting- something which might be something for fpl to consider

Mahrez owner checking in. FML. I went into this GW with 10 players and 2 FT - in a better position than most. But I decide to waste one FT on taking out someone guranteed to play (JWP) for Mahrez and now still only have 10 players. And I owned Mahrez earlier in the season when he suddenly got benched out of nowhere and didn't get any starts. WHY. WHY. WHY do I do this to myself

Yep, chasing. But I was convinced he was nailed this week - as did most people. Sam Lee (and many others) were pretty confident it'd be a strong lineup before he heard otherwise. Like how on earth does it make sense to rest your best team players and barely give them any game time before the CL final?
